Rescue and Recovery 4.3 for Windows 7 problem on T60p

Rescue and recovery 4.3 Advanced mode does not communicate with my USB devices.  I want to save a number of files that are on my USB support, but the R & R never contact him.  No problem viewing with explore.

My mistake!  I wrongly assumed that the day of rescue & recovery update would allow me to restore individual files.  I forgot to read the text information installation included with the download.  R & R works, but does not have access to any previous file.  Too bad.

  • How to get thinkvantage rescue and recovery to install on windows 7

I successfully upgraded from Vista 34 bit to Windows 7 64 bit.  Everything works fine, however, the thinkvantage Toolbox tells me to install the thinkvantage rescue and recovery.  I tried to do it from the Lenovo Web site, but an error message tells me that I need to install something else first.  Unfortunately, I do not know what it is or where to find it.  Any suggestions?

    Nevermind, I got sorted it!

  • How to cancel a Rescue and Recovery

Hi, I have a Lenovo X 61 laptop. My hard drive has been divided into two partitions: operating system and data. Recently, I found that my Windows was no longer able to boot. I managed to install Windows 7 in OS partition. All my files in the second partition has been preserved. My laptop was working fine then. I realized later however that the Lenovo drivers are gone (for example: recognition, which was not necessary, but good to have fingerprints). So by digging the box where my laptop was packed, I found the CD "Rescure and recovery." So I plugged in and restarted, thinking that it will just install the drivers needed in return. But then not only if it deleted Windows 7 that I just reinstalled, but it destroyed the partitions and delete all my data in the second partition. Is there some way I can restore the configuration partition and all data I had? Thanks in advance.

not at all, rescue and recovery media is for the recovery of the device in default, as it was delivered to the customer. It is impossible to restore this operation in a standard way, if you did, which confirmed the operation in the wizard of R & R.

  • Use 'restore factory of Rescue and Recovery' to upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit windows 7

I have 6 GB of ram on my Lenovo SL410. It runs win 7 32-bit.
Windows shows that it is capable of 64-bit.
Can I use "restore factory Rescue and Recovery" to perform the installation of win 7 64 bit?

    Thank you

Your recovery DVDs are listed here:

    http://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-SL-series-laptops/ThinkPad-SL...

I guess if your recovery partition factory is win 7, 32 bit, it will restore win 7, 32 bit.

You can order the win7 64 bit DVD for about $50 US recovery.

  • Rescue and recovery blocks for hours at 0% of backup

    Hello

My R61 ran quite OK, but slower over time. I got through rescue and recovery made a backup of the entire system on an external hard drive. (I had come back to XP and recently did a total system backup on the external HD). So I haven't started the rescue and recovery, thinking that he should simply reinstall it previously saved system. Alas at step 2 the progress of rescue and recovery, the new generation of the system stopped. Black screen with the message: «backup system is...» 0 % ». Here I wait for hours. Nothing progesses.

What should I do? Island of 'progress' is already happening for 6 hours! (I see that my external HD flashes from time to time, but the computer does not seem to do anything).

What should I do? I fear that if I press the power button to restart the computer, I will plant it completely.

    Please help me!

    Thanks in advance

    Roger

Rescue and recovery hung several times for hours. Yet, it seemed to work after 20 hours. Puhhhh...

Lenovo at: Your UI during the rescue and recovery process is ineffective. He left me without any feedback for hours. Almost, I rebooted the computer during critical backups. Here you certainly should help the user to understand what to do and what not. How can I find out, it's OK to have a bar saying 0% progress made for 8 hours.

Even now, I don't know what to do. The computer restarts, windows is OK. But now I can turn off the computer or is always something during rescue and recovery. The last time, he says, it is step 2 on a total of 5 steps. Is it still now something in the back? The rescue is complete? Where is the message telling me, he did the job.

All users: be patient, do not hit anything it either by running a rescue and recovery.

Lenovo: By the way, I had - after installing my computer with xp - makes a backup of the system. that I repeated it several times. When my HD arrived full, I remove some of the older versions, because anyway, I had the newer versions which worked perfectly. Alas, I didn't, which obviously rescue and recovery done a system save, later versions are simply updated. By removing the first version, I lost all the! So, I ended up having no actual backup of a validating at the beginning.  In short: Rescue and Recovery can be a tool very well for an IT expert. For the average user, there are much too many traps. Lenovo: Try to it you like-centered-design user instead of the user Board Chinese garbage, if in the future, you want to keep as «almost IBM» brand name For me, Lenovo - in this regard - is more "almost Chinese It-garbage".

  • Rescue and recovery and windows 8.1

    Hello

For the last 4 years, I used Rescue and Recovery on the my ThinkPad to keep backups (really liked the functionality of incremental backup) and restore unique when files necessary.

I have now just received a new X 1 carbon gen3 coming with default Windows 8.1 and a lot of the classic ThinkVantage tools are missing. I've heard many of these tools no longer exist or are replaced by "apps".

But what of Rescue and Recovery? Impossible to find anywhere for Windows 8.1 and it is really a great tool.

Any idea? I just missed the link somewhere? It's official, and it tools is not taken in charge (and will never) on Windows 8.1? No work around? (such as installation of Windows 7 and cross my fingers?)

Thanks for your comments on that (I'm already hating Windows 8.1, fortunately Windows 10 will be better...)

Rescue and Recovery is not supported on 8 win 8.1 you can try using windows backup.

  • Rescue and recovery under 64 bit creates a 32-bit Windows 7, why?

Hello. I have an x 201 with W7 Pro (64-bit) OEM Lenovo. I replaced the hard so I use Rescue and Recovery to have a clean install of W7 and the X 201 good pilots.

What I did to run enhanced backup and restore and then via Advanced Rescue and Recovery, I launched the option "create rescue media. I followed the instructions and created a rescue media USB that as far as I understand leaves my X 201 as it was when it left the factory.

I booted from the USB without problems, restore the system and to my surprise it installed Windows 7 but 32-bit 64-bit not. And no drivers (no video, no network, no USB/PCI). I'm lost here. Why is installed 32-bit when all items generated under Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and what about drivers? Why it has not installed drivers?

Looking at Enchaced backup and restore in my original installation icon, he says "Lenovo Enchanced backup and restore (32-bit)", so I don't know if that creates only the 32 bit instead of 64-bit OS.

I'll now factory recovery disc option allows to see if that solved the problem.

At this point, I thought that icon factory recovery disc was the same as the use of "create rescue media", because the two pretend to leave the hard drive in the same way, it was when the laptop has left the factory.

If someone could clarify the difference between the two: 'factory recovery disk'vs'create rescue media', and also why the last of them creates a 32-bit OS rather than the 64-bit what it was supposed to create

I will report how it goes with the task of recovery factory disc that I use now.

    Hello

Quite interresting situaiton and to be honest not usual.

However, what should happen, once you have created a rescue media, it's that you should have on the end, a single bootable media, using which you can save, etc.

However, this support of rescue should not contain any OS, it should be only a boneless bootable media. The operating system and the rest should be on a separate stand.

In the case where you had the original x 64 Bit OS, then using the recovery CD (as you confirmed as) should have restored the system to the State, as you received it.

I don't understand, why it needs to change the version of the OS to another, when you initially x64Bit.
Maybe some background info would be useful.

  • Rescue and recovery work do not

I erased from my hard drive and installed Ubuntu. Now I need Vista to use some software to test for my state bar examination. Rescue and recovery disks as well as keep the f11 system restore gives me an error of starting. Vista is gone for good? Lenovo wants to charge me $45 to send discs that will work. Can get an a .iso for this version (Vista Business SP1 64, I think) somewhere and use my activation key product on the lower part of the PC? I don't have time to search the forums and I'm not an expert. Help, please.

  • Rescue and recovery lists no backup on USB Iomega eGO drive

    Hello

I have been using an Iomega eGO external backups USB drive.

I was able to identify and remove (if necessary) backups in Windows 7 and rescue & recovery running, but I can't get the list of backups at the start of a recovery in rescue & recovery DVD.

Basically I replaces unencrypted with a SSD hard drive that supports encryption.

The goal was to use a full backup immediately before removing the HARD drive to restore the complete system.

At the start of the recovery DVDs, recovery utility & rescue lists not all backups, even when the check box for the list of backups on other systems is checked.

It makes no difference if the selection of THE places or USB external drive.

    Any ideas?

Backups are not much good if you can't get back them.

If my old drive did not then I would be in a worse state than this. I can't say I'm impressed.

Well, I've finally sorted this issue.

I tried to create a new recovery disk.

I even tried the recovery time in Windows and see what backups it detected. Yet once, I drew a blank.

    The question was this:

On my W510 at least, none of the USB3.0 ports are recognized by Lenovo rescue and recovery software when you select the USB storage device. Once connected to a single USB 2.0 port the USB eGo has been recognized and listed backups.

Unfortunately, this means a minimum of 6 hours to restore from a full backup!

  • Cannot re - install Rescue and Recovery

I have seen "backup" etc. in the menu of the Toolbox and uninstalled hastily - but actually I managed to uninstall Rescue and Recovery (recovery of blue button style). Now I can not reinstall it-"the installation was interrupted" - "your system has not changed." No idea why. Also cannot install SystemTap. Any ideas? Sorry I have no information better than this. The system works perfectly and all updates are installed. Just no notes R & r.: the works of blue button - it starts in a version of R & R. But if ever I need this facility, I can not trust to really work unless R & R gets reinstalled from the Windows side.

OK found the answer. I was using the administrator account. I logged in as account owner, and the installation was successful. Thank you for my help, me!

  • Rescue and recovery after installing a Vista OEM

    Welcome to the forum Hyldahl,

    A number of things here.

    (1) the origin of this device came pre-loaded with XP.  This means that XP was also the operating system that has been loaded on the original partition. With these Thinkpads, customers have the ability to create their own set of Community designs. You would normally follow this path:

    Start-> programs-> ThinkVantage-> create recovery media

Information on the creation of the RFI on this link:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-68317

You already have a set of your own community designs XP before installing Vista?

    (2) If you have installed the Vista RCDs and not create your RCD XP first, the XP recovery partition will be replaced by the Vista recovery partition.

My guess is that you do not create your own community designs yet. If this is the case, you will need to get a copy of the original records for XP. You can try to contact your support local tech to get a copy of the DDR in XP.

    (3) in order to restore the windows to original factory State, you start by starting the machine and pressing the F11 key (or just boot from the original R & R cd). See the following link for the step by step guide to use Rescue and Recovery to recover Windows:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70803

I hope this covers everything to help you get started. Let me know if you need additional assistance.

    See you soon,.

  • Failed to uninstall Rescue and Recovery version 4.3

    Hello

I'm trying to install Windows 10 on my Lenovo T510 laptop running System 7.  The Setup program indicates that the software Lenovo Rescue and recovery 4.3 as not compatible with Windows 10.  Accordingly, I am prompted to uninstall this program.

When you try to uninstall this program, I get the error message.  Error 1316.  The specified account already exists.

That - what it means and how do I remove it so I can complete uninstallation of the software?

    Thank you

    T

I have updated the Rescue and Recovery program to the latest version.  She made an attempt to "update" of the old version, but in the end, I got two installed versions.  That said, I was then able to "Uninstall" the old version 4.3.

Shortly after I had a transparent update for MS Windows 10.  Everything is good on this end and my machine is running wonderfully well with the new OS...

    Thanks for the tip...

  • IBM ThinkPad T43: Rescue and Recovery question

    Hello

I have an IBM ThinkPad T43. The Rescue and Recovery program opens whenever I turn on my laptop after a failed attempt to restore my laptop to factory settings. I cannot even connect on Windows, because the Rescue and Recovery program opens upwards immediately after I turned on the power. I tried to restore my system to factory settings using the program and the product recovery disc I bought at Lenovo, in the hope of resolving the issue, but every time I'm prompt "IBM could not restore your system.

How can I stop Rescue and Recovery of the opening and resume with normal startup in Windows? What should I do so that I am able to restore my laptop to factory settings?

Please help if you have any suggestions. I appreciate it greatly! Thank you!

You can use this TI pc doc disk bootable http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-56222 its been a long time since I used it, but I think that in the top right there is a tab that says utilities or something like that you can wipe the HARD drive from there as I've always used the quick option worked for me
