Reset Firefox keeps Plug-ins? This is quite serious.

The question is exactly what I need to know.
I have some add-ons that I would install that appear to install but whenever FF is restarted, there is no sign of them. Tab Mix Plus and NoScript are case-specific.
I had to do a system restore due to an update of the sloppy application. This left FF without TMP or NoScript and unable to install. I think I need reset FF, but I WILL NOT DO so UNTIL I KNOW MY PLUGINS ARE SURE TO DELETED, or HOW to GET ENOUGH information TO REINSTALL THE.

I'm coming to the conclusion that plug-ins are installed in the operating system, not the browser and connected to the browser via an environment variable, MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH or registry entries and maybe otherwise.
I will make a FF backup, create a System Restore Point and reset FF.
I'll post the results.
I appreciate everyone of you for your help and your patience with this old man persisted.

I had the problem solved. Thank you for your help. I had to get help from an engineer, I know. It's fast enough, but it looked like he deleted the old and installed the new and it seemed that perhaps the launch could have the issue? Not exactly, it's almost as if the launch was set for the old version... but don't want to send someone on the cause of the bad way, I don't know, but he later installed to firefox 38.1 or another... the 29. I got the message to update my browser, I went on the site and download the latest version of Firefox. I update my plug-ins as well. However, I always get the message that my browser is obsolete. Check general.useragent preferences on the topic: config page.

You can open the topic: config page through the address bar just like you open a Web site.

    Filter: general.useragent

If all general.useragent prefs are "BOLD" (user set) then right-click this pref and select reset.

It would be probably due the FBSMTWB on the end of your useragent that you had added the Fast Browser Search toolbar extension.

  • Why Firefox always tells me that Adobe plug-ins must be updated, when I've just updated beyond the versions them says Firefox update?

On the status of the plug-in page, Firefox said I have potentially vulnerable Adobe Flash player c. 19.0.0.185 and should be updated. I have already taken this opinion but Adobe confirms that my version is 19.0.0.226. I ran the update at least twice (and of course I restarted Firefox several times and refreshed the page for good measure). Why Firefox think I always c. 19.0.0.185?

Essentially the same story with Adobe Reader plug-in 15.9.20069.28170. Firefox said I have this outdated version and should be updated. I ran the update at least twice (but unlike with Flash Player I don't know how to confirm that the update is installed). The version that Firefox says I have and advice to update, has not changed.

I've updated two plug-ins yesterday. Immediately after the update, when I refreshed the page status of the plugin, these plug-ins have disappeared from lists "vulnerable" or "outdated". It's only the Adobe Flash Player and Reader plug-in updates (which I did yesterday) that Firefox seems to blind. I waited a day to see if Firefox would recognize the edits today, but it still does not work. On this page of presentation of the question, "Assumptions" of Firefox on my current browser list older versions of Adobe Flash Player and Reader that I've already updated since.

Plugins are installed on the system and not in Firefox. So he can tell you were the same when you installed know that it is usually because you have two system installed an older version of Flash Player.

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Windows.html

Maybe try to uninstall all versions of Flash Player (basic plugin) and install the current https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (basic plugin), while Firefox is closed.

Recently updated Ghostery and since then I've lost the ability to watch videos on all pages. I tried a lot of solutions to correct this. None worked. The only solution that which was left was me so said they start for EACH Firefox problem is in 'safe mode' or update Firefox each moderator of Mozilla. I did a refresh by accident. But always had problems even after only 3 modules. And I went ham on Firefox and delete everything off my deleted pc the Mozilla folder after that I uninstalled Firefox. Then I went to load Firefox from the ground upward.

Well, since I did it miss me ALL my plug-ins. So I updated adobe... nothing. I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player and it reloaded. Nothing. I did the same thing for VLC. Nothing.

2 Plug-ins that are listed are from the folder I added an old Firefox data I saved. Question is on Firefox 35.0.1 why plug-ins are not installed?

    Solved.

What Did I Do? I refreshed Firefox...

    (1) pluginreg.dat deleted
    (2) threw in the folder an old copy of pluginreg.dat from when he worked
restarting and it picked up everything.

Hello, you have current more hd , which is a malicious add-on. Please, try the following steps:

    1. Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    2. then go to firefox > addons > extensions and where there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    3. Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to ensure that adware is not present in other parts of your system as well.

  • Firefox blocks no plug-ins

Under all: permissions I put plug-ins for 'always ask' under 'all pages '. However if I set any page to "allow" all pages is set to allow. The simply looking at "all pages" will be solved I return to "always ask" for all pages. However, regardless of what is on, plug-ins are played automatically for all pages.

This always happens in safe mode.

    I'm under openSUSE 12.3.

  • Can you confirm these messages that I get to update my plug-ins, when I connect on Firefox are legitimate?

When I connect on Firefox, I get a message to update my plug-ins. Can you confirm to me the message is legitimate and not spam?

Hello, when he appeared in the InfoBar on the browser, it is legitimate - see some plugins used by this page are out of date for the comparison. Unfortunately your platform (os x 10.4 on powerpc architecture) is no longer supported by apple or the most common plugin vendors, so it is not possible to obtain the latest versions of flash, java etc who work on your system.

If you want to disable messages on out-of-date plugins, enter "subject: config" in the address bar of the browser, confirm the information dialog box, then find the preference named "plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin" and double click it to switch to 'true '.

Also note that firefox 3.6.28 was the last generation that took place on a powerpc, but if you want to use an updated firefox-based browser, you can switch to "tenfourfox" - Firefox no longer works with Mac OS X 10.4 or PowerPC processors

  • After the upgrade to Firefox 4.0, I returned to Firefox 3.6 because plug-ins, such as Media Player, would not work just with 4.0. They now work with 4.0.1?

After the upgrade to Firefox 4.0, I returned to Firefox 3.6 because plug-ins, such as Media Player, would not work just with 4.0. They now work with 4.0.1?

I used WMP plugin with Firefox 4 since its release.

The problem is probably because she couldn't find the WMP plugin. One way around this problem is to install the HTML5 Extension for Windows Media Player Firefox plugin available from http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/html5-extension-for-wmp-plugin

This add-on will do 2 things, it will install the WMP plugin in a place that can find Firefox 4, it will also add an extension to add additional functionality for use by Windows Media Player. This extension has been reported as causing memory leaks, so I recommend that once you install the HTML5 Extension for Windows Media Player Firefox plugin, you must restart Firefox then uninstall the extension. The extension uninstaller will not remove the plugin, Firefox 4 will still be able to use it.
