I forgot the parental control password. How can I reset?

Microsoft can not tell you how to bypass the password. Please see their policy here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/189126

If you have an another administrator account on the system, you may be able to reset the parental control using this account - but I'm not sure, you can reset the parental control password (or if the other account administrator will be able to access the parental controls without a separate password if one has been created for this feature).  You'll have to maybe just disable parental control entirely if you want that the issue that you are experiencing to go further (but which will disable all other controls as well).

  • My adolescence happens in the parental control

Whenever my husband and I set up parental controls on my five year old son iPhone, it's a total reset of the phone to return to factory default so that it has access to everything you want. Is there anyway to prevent this without our permission (Putting in our access code)?

The only way to prevent it from being able to do would be to define your iCloud unit account and turn on find my iPhone. You don't have to allow other iCloud services just AGFI. Do not give him the password to the account. If he tries to clear the phone, he will meet with lock activation, which means that the phone will be completely useless without your password.

Honestly, if he was my kid (I put ' 4), I would completely take it away from him and make him use a dumb phone. If you can't follow the rules, you lose your privileges.

    (2) tried questions help and support, impossible to find a way around it.

    (3) I've changed my password, now I can't even shut down the computer.

I can't believe that this happened to someone, somewhere, and it's so easy to do.

Please take these steps to restore the privileges on your account. This somewhat tedious procedure is only necessary if you have verified that no work administrator account exists on the system.

If you do not already have a current backup of all your data, you must back up before taking any of the steps below. Ask if you need advice. You won't need the backup unless something goes wrong, which is always possible.

    Step 1

Start in recovery mode. The OS X Utilities appears.

    Step 2

This step only if you use FileVault 2. Start utility disk, then select the icon for the volume FileVault startup ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Select open in the file menu and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    Step 3

    Select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. Select your boot if not already done volume. Pull down the menu option

    Select the user account

    and select

    Administrator (root)

Follow the prompts to set a password. It is safer to choose a password that includes only the characters a - z, A - Z and 0-9. I suggest that you write the password. If you don't write it down and forget about it, you will start again at step 1.

    Select

     ▹ Reboot...

    in the menu bar.

    Step 4

This step, as step 2, applies only if you use FileVault. Sign up as usual, then select

     ▹ Disconnect...

from the menu bar or press shift-command-Q key combination. Do not restart. You go back to the login screen.

    Step 5

On the login screen, click on the other... Enter 'root' (without the quotes) in the name field and the password set in step 3 in the password field. You should now be logged in as root. It is a potentially dangerous situation. Do nothing by being logged in as root except as indicated below. You'll be fine as long as you don't dismiss the plan.

Open the preferences users and groups window. Select your usual administrator account from the list of users and check the box marked

Allow the user to administer this computer

You will be prompted to restart. Do this and log in as yourself, not as root. Your administrator status should now be restored.

    Step 6 (optional, but recommended)

Follow the instructions in this article to support under the title "disable the root user. You must authenticate in directory utility as a 'root' with the password set in step 3. As another administrator authentication will not work.

  • Place the Parental control over the Admin account

I use a Macbook Pro with El Capitan 11.1 2012

I was wondering if there is any easy solution or new thoughts there for this OS...

Also why it not easier? Or at least a warning? Looks like Apple could have come up with something after that it was produced for the years.

  • Windows parental control will not sync with my computer

I tried to leave my child to use a new Web site on the Windows parental control.  I was able to connect to my account online successfully (hotmail) parental control), but when the ToolTip for parental control is displayed on my screen, it tells me that the ID or the password is incorrect. Neither is incorrect.  I tried to uninstall the parental control of one of the computers and reinstall it to see if it would help, but it did not help.  I tried to remove the account from the child for a specific PC and reset the settings on the computer this way, but it also did not work.  It's almost as if the pop-up window is more related to the website password information.  The family safety website will allow me to change the permissions, but he won't let the connection of individual computers on the site to make changes that the child is allowed to see.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

... He told me that the ID or the password is incorrect. Neither is incorrect.

You have probably enabled two-step verification for the account. This means that you will need to generate a unique password app to use safe family rather than the account password.

  • Parental control unavailable since the change of e-mail account in Outlook

I can no longer access or control security settings for the family since the evolution of my hotmail account outlook account, as recommended by Microsoft.  An omnipresent annoying popup asking me to write in my pw, but the user ID is always displayed as my old account hotomail and I am unable to change that.  So I tried, but a message says that it is incorrect, which, of course, it is.   Now I wonder if I will be unable to install new software if my account name is not recognized?

I have Windows 7 64 bit on a desktop (which a year ago, I have upgraded to Vista), most most recent win-7 64 - bit specifications.  No machine gives me problems in any other respect.

  • Parental control for Linksys EA6500 V2

I learned recently that the parental control I set up for my children do not work.  I disabled parental controls and allowed them.  I checked to make sure I have the latest firmware for the router said, I completely reset the router and back.  However, the parental control does not work.  I tried on my devices to block the internet and I am still able to access the internet.  Please can someone help or should I just go with another router?  It's very upsetting.

  • Parental control PW

The password for the parental control can be deleted?

When I try to delete the pw that it asks me to create a new.

What happens if I don't want a pw.

This isn't an important issue just curious to know if this is possible.

Once you reset the router make sure you uninstall cisco connect for you again to install the router. Once you have the router set up, it will ask you to create a password for parental control. If you don't want that you can go to the router set up page of the router and go to the access restrictions tab.

  • Specific times on 1200 + ca Parental Controls does not

    Hello

I recently bought from Best Buy a Linksys AC 1200 +. I love the Smart Wifi and remote application access, however, I found that the portion of the precise moments of parent controls doesn't seem to work. I chose the time I want the device to be able to access, but no matter what I do, as long as I have the parental control activated, the devices lose connectivity.  If I change it to never be blocked, it works, or if I change to always block access it works, but no matter which option I choose (white should be allowed and the blue should be blocked - I tried both) does not work.

Any ideas?  I have the latest firmware and I made sure that the device and the router are on the correct time zone and the time has come.

I'm frustrated, but I hope that this community can help!

    Thank you!
