Reset "subject: Home" search engine?

When I search from the home page that he used to give me the results of Google, but that somehow got changed by AVG Anti Virus and now it goes to a page of results AVG Safe Search. Since I went to an another anti virus and completely uninstalled AVG, including Add-ons that I could find. I scoured the ' topic: config "page for everything related to moy. I found a few items that seemed related, but their default reset has not changed anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Reset the pref browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone through the context menu by default on the topic: config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the on: default home page.

  1. Open the topic: config page through the address bar
  2. Type in the filter bar: mstone
  3. Right-click on the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line, and then select: Reset
  4. Close and restart Firefox

If this did not help, then remove the button Delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder and repeat the foregoing.

After the upgrade to 21 FF, search engines no longer appear in the bar at the top right of the screen, so no searches are possible. I can navigate to my favorites and apparently also to the links contained in the e-mails.

If I right click on the FF icon and choose the "Run as Administrator" option, the search engines are there again. I tried to delete the parent.lock in the profiles folder, that this solution was solved a problem I've had recently with the previous version of FF (not being not able to open FF and getting the error message on another version of it running, which had to be closed in the first place - but there was no other version running.) In this case, too, before I discovered the solution, I could open FF using the option "Run as Administrator"). However deleting the parent.lock file does not resolve this issue.

  • Firefox address bar search engine keep the reset to go back home

I downloaded the Manager to go back (http://www.fileservemanager.com/) a few months ago and used it briefly before uninstalling. The program has installed a toolbar by default, and I made sure to remove this too quickly. The problem I have is that the search engine for my URL guard bar reset to fileservehome.com whenever I start Firefox. I can reset the password key. URL about: config, but whenever I start FF he changes back. I tried searching for 'back' in the subject: config search bar but nothing happens. I deleted all the files on my computer with the word go back in there and I ran malware bytes multiple times. I restarted firefox with no extensions running and it still happens. I am running Firefox 4 and may not know how to fix this shit. I don't want to switch to Chrome, but it might be my only option if I can't understand it... If you have an idea on how to fix it please let me know!

had the same problem and found a good solution I've done has been

    It's on a windows 7

    Reach
    My computer-> C:-> users-> (name of your computer)-> AppData (hidden folder)-> Roaming-> Mozilla-> Firefox-> profile-> .default (random alphanumeric combination)

    ex. C:\Users\Elli\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\89rnmjg8.default

It's mine, Elli and 89rnmjg8.default will be different

here find user.js open it with Notepad or some other advanced editor (Notepad or ultraedit) inside you will see the annoying url of fileservetoolbar change to your desired url and save mine was

    http://www.Google.com/search?btnG=Google+search & q =

(of the query, not the lucky thing of feeling generic google search)

Note that you must change there the next time you want to change it, you cannot change it to about: config, if I discovered how change it I'll tell you, maybe you can uninstall firefox and remove all files related firefox there are like all profiles and stuff and start from scratch.

    1. create a new Firefox profile with all of the default settings, without extensions, plugins, custom settings, NOTHING.
2 fact DuckDuckGo my search engine by default in the search box
    3. check these settings in all: config
