restore active desktop on PC domain

Hey there,

I would like to know how to fix this error active desktop on PC that is connected to a domain. It's actually a who'e of the user facing this problem. I can change the registry and try it... but what my problem is that we have set up a default wallpaper must be charged for those users who connect from those of roaming profiles. I think it's nothing to do with the profile, but I said just for all let you them know how is the workstation environment...
one advise?

I would try to delete it and recreate it active desktop. If this does not work, perhaps the content on the site itself is having technical problems.
Alternatively, you can try to reset Internet Explorer by default, see if that solves the problem.
    1. click on START
    2. click on "Control Panel."
    3. double click on 'Internet Options'
    4. click on the "Advanced" tab and select "Reset."... "at the bottom of the window
    5 restart your computer

  • Background is now white screen "Active Desktop Recovery"

original title: white screen "Active Desktop Recovery".

My screen went WHITE with big letters proclaiming "Active desktop recovery."      All my icons are still there and work very well.   But when I try to click on restore Active Desktop button, nothing happens and there is a white screen with all the instructions, etc.  I tried everything, including the 'Display' Panel and tried setting to the top of my new wallpaper, but no luck.  I restarted the system several times, and when it loads the white screen is still there.   Note: When I go to view, context parameters are NOT operational.  The cursor won't move.   It will allow me to set the color, but nothing makes a change.     Everything works fine, but I can't seem to get rid of white screen and the words "ACTIVE DESKTOP RECOVERY more phrases sub on how to cure it... have nothing to this problem."   Thank you, BobnKathyS.   For the purpose of the email, I prefer to use the following: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

-right click on the desktop > properties.

    -Select the Desktop tab

    -Customize Desktop button

    -Select the Web tab

-Remove all the other current office links except for the "My homepage" link, so all the other links are listed (checkbox, then the button Delete)

    This step is the clincher:

-Turn it off "my checkbox on the current home page.

    -Click on apply

    -Click OK

    Office should return to normal.

  • My up asking me if I want to restore my Active Desktop and when I press Yes thinking it press I Yes. Any help will be appreciated and thank you

Hello, I have Windows XP Professional on my computer at home and a week ago I noticed a new icon on the screen that says 'New Briefcase (2)' start. I'm not this letter from the computer where I can go and start trying to remove this or that and I would like to know what would happen if I chose to delete it? The other thing that has changed is the color of the background, it used to be the old blue startup screen and now it is white and a box asking if I want to restore my Active desktop. When I pressed yes thinking it would take me back to the old blue screen that nothing happens, so I end up going to the Panel and the opening of the office and when my old screen appears, I grow well and he is back to normal, until the next time that I start. What would cause that new icon to just pop as he did and why the white of the screen with this question? I did something that would cause these changes. Any help would be appreciated and I thank you for your time and your help.

    Hello

The new Briefcase (2) is probably empty and may have accidentally created by a right-click on the desktop > New > Briefcase. You can safely remove. It is not necessary.

For the question of Active Desktop, try this...

Right-click on the desktop > properties > Display Properties > Desktop > customize > Web, uncheck whatever the page is listed or add a new Web page and uncheck the box, then OK your way out. That should disable Active Desktop.

Then... Right-click on the desktop > properties > Display Properties > Desktop > select a color.

    Hello

Because you say that what you've done, but not how you did, my suggestions are limited to...

    • Cancel any changes that do
    • If you remember what was the modified parameters: do a system restore to a point in time before things went wrong. Start - All Programs-Accessories-tools system restore. Choose an appropriate date and time and set the course of restoration. Be patient, it may take several minutes.

  • Impossible to reactivate Active Desktop

original title: Section of the white screen on desktop

Recently, a white screen pops up with Active Desktop. He asked if I wanted to turn it back on. When I hit the button highlight, the screen has gone but left part of my white office. I could reduce the size of the white part of the screen, but I can't make it go away. Any ideas what caused this and how can I eliminate it? It does not interfere with the operation of the computer, but it's still annoying.

    Hi RSeiter,

You have more than one user account on this computer? This occurs when you log on to a different user account? If you do not already have it, connect you to another user or account create a new user account to see if the next question. If you don't see the problem in other accounts, your user account may be damaged and you can follow the steps to retrieve the profile of the user.

If it is a recent issue, you can use System Restore to restore your system to a point before the show.

When I click on the button to restore my active desktop is nothing happens.  I get this message & I need to know what my children are doing to make this happen. I do not see the image that I put my experience or my desktop icons

It may be possible that you have had some malicious software downloaded on your machine.  You can back up all the data you need to keep; that is, photos, documents, music and restore the operating system to an ealier point in time (or the image of the plant).
