Since you have your Windows disk, you can perform a new installation of the operating system. Please follow my link below for the operating system installation process.

  • After you install Firefox 23, I can't find any more Google as search engine in my search bar, and I can not also restore default search engines.

    Restore default search engines is dimmed, and when I go to Google.com to try to add it as a search engine, there is no option to do so.

    By default, the Google search plugin is installed in this folder:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\browser\searchplugins

    See google.xml?

    If this isn't the case, you may need to reinstall Firefox 23. No required uninstallation, you can get the installer on the following page:

    http://www.Mozilla.org/Firefox/all/ (find your language and your OS)

    If you have google.xml in the usual location, it is possible for the data file which stores the search plugins is corrupt. You can solve that by renaming or deleting files below and have Firefox regenerate them.

    Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

    Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

    Switch back to Firefox and output

    Break while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename (or delete) the following files:

    search.json => rename to search.json.old
    search-metadata.json (if found) => delete
    search.sqlite (if found) => delete
    search.rdf (if found) => delete

    Restart Firefox. I hope that now Google will be reintroduced in the list.

  • Cannot restore default newtab

    Since a few days ago, to open a new tab in firefox has changed for me to redirect

I tried to use the menus of About: config to reset the default page of newtab and also attempted to use an add-on - it 'restore all default settings' in the browser, but no method has solved the problem. Can someone help me get rid of this annoying new setting and restore the default settings?

    Note that your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some preferences at each start of Firefox.

    The user.js file appears only if you or another software created, therefore, normally, he wouldn't be here.
    You can check its contents with a text editor if you do not create this file yourself.

    The user.js file is read whenever you launch Firefox and initializes the preferences to the value specified in this file, so set of preferences via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

    Rename or remove the file prefs.js and possible numbered prefs-# .js and a user.js file possible to reset all default prefs.

  • I can't get the STOP button to appear in the Navigation bar, even after going through the suggestions; It will appear when the Restore Default Set window is open, but disappears as soon as a click on

    The X to STOP loading the page does not appear in the Navigation toolbar. If I right-click, select Customize, restore the default value, it is displayed; Click done and it disappears. I disabled the theme; disabled all extensions; reset the toolbar and commands; disabled acceleration. No luck.

    From Firefox 4, the Go, the buttons Stop and reload are combined into a single button at the right end of the toolbar URL or address. The button changes depending on the type of activity:

    • green arrow GB when you type in the address bar
    • Red Stop ("X") button while the page is loading
    • Reload (circular arrow) to gray when the page is finished loading.

    There are separate buttons:

    1. Open the Customize the toolbar by clicking the Firefox button > Option > toolbars OR by clicking View > toolbars > customize if using the menu OR bar right click in an empty space on a toolbar and select Customize
    2. Stop and Reload buttons will show separate from the address bar and the search bar
    3. Drag the buttons anywhere on the Navigation toolbar
      • order Reload-Stop will bring together into a single button
      • order Stop-Reload will remain in separate keys
      • or drag a "separator" in the window customize between Reload-Stop and that they remain separated
    4. Click done at the bottom right of the window customize to finish

  • How to restore default settings for administrator permissions?

    On my laptop, I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with all Service Packs, and recommended updates.
    I messed up inadvertently administrator permissions so that I can't access, move, or delete certain folders / files.  Please - how to restore the default permissions?

    There is no way to do it automatically. Restore the system to a point before that the amendments may help.

    This article gives advice: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313222

    If you can open a command prompt (see: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Command-Prompt-frequently-asked-questions ), you may be able to use the Takeown command and icalcs to set the permissions to the usable values.

    You may need to compare the permissions on a system that works. The Sysinternals AccessChk and AccessEnum utilities can be useful.

  • System restore image fails - missing Bootmgr

    Recently bought more large hard drive to my PC at home - the system Windows 7 (from my old HD) image successfully created using native Windows 7 system image utility.

    When you try to load the image on my new HD, it seems to work fine, however start fails with "Bootmgr" is missing error.

    Have tried to use the restoration of utility system Windows 7 installation disc, but that does not solve the problem.

    THX in advance for any idea / help

    Hello

    Windows 7 creates a 'Active' partition (drive Q in general) that the system boots from. You got the fine image, but probably not the Q score he needs to boot from. This partition is usually 100 mb in size and the beginning of the disc.

    Here's what I would try first.

    1) boot from the Windows 7 DVD and install it. Don't bother entering your key.
    (2) when it is finished, apply your custom image on the new installation of Windows on the C partition as you did before. This should wipe the installation we just did and replace with your image. The boot partition will be set up and you should be good to go.

    I hope that this help... is not myself, but it should work fine. Mark <> Microsoft Partner

  • System Restore keeps failing

    I tried all day to do a system restore. No matter what date choose for a starting point, when the process is finished, a window opens and says "system restore failed and no changes to your computer." It drives me crazy! All I want to do is run a system restore that works. Can you help me please? Thank you.

    Hello

    If you have Norton Internet Security installed, you should first disable Norton Tamper Protection as described in step 2, on the link below.

    http://us.Norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docURL=20091112171719EN&LN=en_US

    Once you are done, turn off the PC.  Windows system restore is usaully better run in Mode without failure.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  When it has loaded, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point, you want and then do the restore.  When you are finished, Windows will restart normally.

    Let me know if you still cannot deliver the issue to run correctly.

    Kind regards
