Restore media

Hello

I have a HP 15 t-n200 (Pavilion TouchSmart 15 t), not product. F4W68AV.

I recently finished what I talk as "decrapifying" my laptop, i.e. reconfigure windows 8.1 to boot to the desktop, remove all apps subway that I don't want to see, will never use, or are nothing more than a sales pitch designed to separate me from my money hard-won.

I've also updated windows with all the latest security fixes and last upated to the 8.1 window "update of spring" which, I understand, will be the new "basic" for windows 8.1.  Also updated all the drivers from HP here site.

Now, I want to create a recovery media that can restore my laptop to its current state in case of future problems, but I want that he restored to the State that it is now, after 'decrapified' of windows.

How to create a recovery media?

My preference is to do it on a USB flash drive but CDs is an option.  I read the method to do it on a flash drive USB on the microsoft Web site, however, that the method requires a product key for windows, I don't have that HP did not provide one.  It is my understanding that the product key is embedded in the BIOS.

How to create a media recovery on a flashdrive without it, or that I can?

If the answer is I can't, so how can I create on CD?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You ' r very welcome.

You probably want to update your image over time, as I do, if you don't want to spend a lot of time to do the updates.

Here's the deal... you cannot directly access the image of the system if you are not using Windows, you will need to do a recovery USB disk.  The system image you make is not bootable, nor can you recover individual files from it, so make sure you copy folders of files, etc. on the portable hard drive as well. You can have a system image and other things on the same backup drive--space.

I think the term "Recovery USB disk" is misleading, because it won't do a thing except boot up and you give a menu to access the system image created on DVD, a usb flash drive or a hard drive portable usb.

If you do not have such a device, then you will need a Windows 8/8.1 plain bootable installation disk.  That also has a repair option where you can access the system image you created.

If you do not have a plain W8/8.1 installation disk, then it is essential that you create the recovery USB disk.

I think that the reader doesn't have to be 256 MB in size.

Do not lose a dear high capacity usb flash drive to create this bootable on recovery disk.

You can buy the CD of restoration but not download.

If you wish, you can contact the ASP in your country and ask for this CD. It s not expensive.

    Regarding you driver problem;

Well. I have checked the page of European disc of Toshiba and was able to download drivers for Satellite Pro A10.
So I know exactly why you can't download the drivers but there is nothing wrong with the page.

  • Pavilion 17-e112dx: make the system restore media is too slow

I put out my system recovery media creating... and now I want to install windows 10. However, the software HP tells me that I need these DVD media to create... so I decided to do it now.

It takes more than an hour by DVD and must be 5 of them... it's an entire day to create system recovery... disks nuts.

    Why is this?

Is it possible to accelerate the * bleep * thing upwards.

    Hi there @webmasterpdx,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! I read your post on the Forums of HP Support and see that you create recovery media and find that it is slow.

Unfortunately, there is not a way to speed up the process. HP highly recommends that you create a recovery image on disc or save a recovery image on a USB flash drive as soon as you receive your computer, at this time there the burning process is less likely to have been too long. If you receive no error messages and the disc is burning correctly, I would say just to let it run its course, even if it is a long process.

    Have a great day!

  • Restore Windows to an earlier date

My mother has been scammed by people saying they were from microsoft and that she had a virus on his computer.  They have connected via teamviewer.  If I restore the XP computer to a date prior to this, it will remove all that they can be installed on the computer?  I am concerned about keyloggers etc.

    billybogs Council is good.

    My advice would be to...

    1. Disconnect from the internet (Tower of router / wireless, responsible for the network to delete)
    2. Back up your data and make sure that you have the installation software CD for all of your necessary software
    3. Make sure you have the manufacturer recovery media, otherwise burn / get them before proceeding
    4. Wipe the hard drive completely, including the MBR, using something like DBAN or Killdisk
    5. Restore your system to support recovery of the manufacturer
    6. Re-install the software needed
    7. Restore your data

Even if it is not safe if you burn from a possibly distressed PC restore media. There is no guarantee that they have not altered the MBR (master boot record) is not part of the system restore procedure. These alterations of MBR used to reintroduce the malware after removal by all means including scanners and the restoration of the system.

Better than having to burn your own recovery media would get the same thing from the manufacturer and bear no matter what price is linked to this.

You cannot install of XP OEM key on a retail disc.
If the disc is SP3, then you can install by using the default key and then use the product key update tool to change the key for your COST one.
If you can integrate SP3 into the current disc, it will still work.
If this isn't the case, then you need to find a disc OEM System Builder to do the installation.

  • Windows 7 Media Center blocks all programs start - HELP - green buttons everywhere

    Hello

I have a laptop Acer Windows 7 (new) / and Office XP - Office 7 free trial ran out. Anyway, I can't open any programs on my computer since the implementation of Media Center.

Last night, I downloaded from CNET programs, including the FreeZonlineTV and a few others. I remember during Setup, Media Center was downloading something that took a long time - I thought that it was creating a library or something - it was late - sorry. In any case, this morning the download is complete, I have a bunch of little green buttons on all my programs on the desktop (shortcuts). I also have this same green button on everything in my Start menu, (i.e., Skype, ITunes, MRI, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) When I click on any of them, the media goes full screen. It does not actually close. It is now in my taskbar - I can't minimize it - it appears full screen again when I try. I decreased the size of the window now, and there's just on the side of my desk.

I tried Ctrl/Alt/Del and ending the Media Center, but it just POPs right up again. I tried to delete or disable Media Center, but when I'm in the section of the control panel I need to disable to turn it off, media center pop up and don't let not even get me in the section where I can check or uncheck something.

I can not restore - media center stop the it. I. Please help - I can't even open word documents - this is urgent. Oh, it also disabled by AVG and other antivirus programs so I can't even scan. I ran Advance care system and did a diagnostic scan - found defrag required - done - but, when I tried to get into other programs on Advance care system, guess what - a bunch of little green buttons on all of these programs as well.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you
