Hey SR REVERSE

You can undo a restoration of the system, but not a system recovery

Find a windows.old folder because we do not know how you reinstalled vista

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/932912

try recuva to try to find your data

If above doesn't have a good data recovery speciailists are the next step for you

  • NB500 - I can't do the system recovery

    Hello

    I got a nb500 Windows 7 starter and I cannot do a system recovery out-of-the-box.

I tried "press 0 and power", the pc starts, but as long as I continue to press 0 nothing happens. When I release, it will continue to boot normally into windows. Also tried with f8, I can see the system recovery options, but there is no tool for HARD drive recovery there. I also used a toshiba recovery media Creator called program but when I start, it displays a message «there is no area of hard drive recovery»

    Any suggestions please?

For some reason any there there no initial access to the recovery image.

Either it is deleted or the partitions of HARD drive structure is changed and recovery tool cannot find the settings for the recovery image.
Now, you have little problem. Recovery image installation will not work.

    You have two options:
1 / you can try to install recovery disc original order of Toshiba - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
2 / you can install own OS version

All readers, tools and utilities, you can find and download from the Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Re: How can I return the system recovery partition?

I just used the cd to restore the system and on resetting my system to factory setting, but unfortunately, the system drive on the system recovery partition has been deleted.

How will re - install the drive to restore system partition?

    Hello

Do you mean the second Vista partition which contains the backup system files?

This partition is hidden and usually after installing the OS from the Toshiba Recovery disk this partition must be re-created.

I m 100% sure because I ve got my cell several times using the Toshiba Vista recovery DVDs and the hidden partition is created every time.

  • In the System Recovery Options administrator password?

    Hello dear users of Toshiba.

I'm willing to use the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" in the "System Recovery Options" (after pressing F8 when the computer starts) but when I select Administrator as a user, he invites me for a password.

I double checked my Vista user accounts and the administrator (me) is certainly not no matter what password that are bound to him.
My problem is that I can't use recovery tool if I don't log in as an administrator...

Can someone please help? Y at - it factory default password?

    Thanks to you all!

    Hello

To be honest, your announcement confused me a bit especially the part where you wrote: but when I select Administrator as a user. I don't understand what you mean with it.
    But first some basic information:

Can you imagine you use Toshiba notebook with the settings and someone will make a joke and use the F8 option and reinstall Vista. All of your settings, data and pre-installed software will be gone. Or can someone just use cell phones stolen to get around Vista secure password for laptop and do clean install of Vista using F8 option.

To avoid this Toshiba has this security feature and each try to reload Vista password OS will be refused. So if you use the password to log in to Vista the same password will be required before the installation of recovery begins. By default, there is no password and the name of the administrator account will be shown when you start the recovery procedure. When you enter the correct password, the installation will continue.

So much about the theory. I don't know how you do and which account you use, but the fact is, without administration account name and correct password, you won't be able to install Vista using this HARD drive recovery option.

  • System backup Image against the system recovery disks

    Hello

I'm new to the system recovery things and I have a question...

I just bought a new computer laptop m7-1015dx of Pavilion and need to do system recovery discs... (which I realize restore laptop to factory default)... BTW, I have already created the system repair disc.

However, I read an article on creating a system backup Image allowing you to recovery if lost EVERYTHING, all your installed programs, etc.

    First Question:

Can someone tell me if I do the backup IMAGE of the system...

Do I still need to create recovery disk (mfg default) system also?

    The second Question:

If I create system recovery disks can I still this Recovery Partition?

I am really really wanting to partition my C:\ drive... it is huge

In addition, I hate to see storage folders involved in system folders...

Currently using a symbol/character to separate them.

From now on, I can't partition the C:\drive all partitions are used as... Max is 4

and I have 4... C:\drive, System Partition, Partition HPTools and recovery Partition.

Any help or assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks for the research.

    Best regards, Jenn

    Hi, Jenn:

I'd certainly recovery disks because in the case of a hard drive failure, a recovery partition is unnecessary because it would be on the failed drive.

Recovery disks will do the same as a recovery partition. Reinstall the operating system and programs supplied with your laptop.

I have also copy off the coast of the C:\drive SWSetup folder and store it on a portable hard drive that contains all files Installer provided with your PC (except MS Office 2010 Starter).

You can also make your own Windows 7 installation disc and have a nice bloatware without installing windows, and then install only the programs you want from the SWSetup folder.

    Here's how:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/

You can get rid of all the partitions you want to if you plan to use recovery or disc of Windows 7 installation method that I posted above.

I write my product key and store them somewhere for more security that many people report that it fades if you keep the laptop on your lap a lot, and then you wouldn't be able to use the alternative method to install W7.

  • The system recovery disk - how do without floppy drive?

I am trying to create a "system recovery disk" as part of the TOSSHIBA ASSIST (protect and fix the section).

However, before we proceed, I noted that he was invited to a 'floppy' create a recovery disc but this model without this facility data can be recorded on a CD. I didn't get throughout the procedure and find that I couldn't finish it due to no floppy drive!

Or otherwise just use the product recovery DVD - Rom supplied with the laptop in case of problem... not sure if this would hold the same data?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello Christine

If you look carefully on this print option (shortcut) it is written to create the CD drivers & tools and in aria info nothing follow description allows to create an external symbol to the top of the caisse de dépôt drivers & tools.

You use this shortcut, you can simply create Tools & Utilities CD and not the system recovery media. I did a few times without any problem. Equip your optical drive for CD - R, click on this shortcut, click the button BURN.

    All that s!

  • Portable CQ58, disk recovery "this computer is not supported by the system recovery media.

    Hello HP,.

I have a laptop CQ58-bf9WM, which had Windows 8.1.  The 320 GB hard drive died and bought a new SATA 500 GB laptop.  had no CD recovery, went online, enter all the important information, serial No., model #, then purchased through HP recovery disk, received the CD (manufacturer 708896-001, 708895-001 708897-001) and put #1 disc in the CD started and that's what I get: this computer is not supported by the system recovery media.  You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these media.  "Error: 0100-169-1855-188 b" then you have the OK, then when you press OK, the laptop shuts down.  I pressed ESC on POST, then I tested memory and the new hard drive and they both passed.  HELP PLEASE!  Thank you

Should not have anything to do with the new hard-both disk that is at least equal or greater than original ability, they work. It is 'possible' that you have received the wrong set of recovery.

Thing of OE to check. Enter the BIOS by pressing F10 immediately after turning on (have to press ESC, then F10 to the menu). Is the serial number, model number.etc all intact?

  • Pavilion 23-b244 AiO: the system recovery media does not support this computer

    Hey all,.

I had a power outage (1 TB) HD material on me about a week ago and replaced by a (500 GB) SSD, not purchased from HP.  I then ordered the recovery disc from HP for this particular serial number.  Whenever I boot on the recovery discs, I get "this computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media. "The Minsize argument in the instructions to build on the DVD file provides a minimum of 140 GB, so I don't think I have a new smaller drive system is the question.

Last month I have updated the firmware to v80.08, and in the bios "product name", 'SKU number', 'serial number of the chassis' fields are all empty.  In "System ID", everythign is empty except UUID and family name.

I think that's why I'm not able to boot to recovery discs?

Any help would be appreciated, I have use this computer for quickbooks and have bee unable to do accounting for a week and a half.

Figured it out! On my Pavilion, you press Ctrl + A in the bios then click on 'System IDs'. Then I was able to type in the ID to build my recovery and support the byte to feature on the sticker under my machine. F10 to save then the recovery media recognized the computer properly and booted up!

  • ThinkVantage Button takes me to the system recovery after HARD drive partition

    Hello

I recently bought a W520 with 4 GB of RAM.

I bought 3 branches of more than 4 GB each, installed and everything was fine. Also, I shrunk the C: drive and created a new disk (D:\) from space, that I rescued after the reduction of the volume.

When I start the laptop and you want to enter the BIOS setup by pressing the blue ThinkVantage button, she won't go to the BIOS Setup. Rather, it passes through the system recovery options.

What gives? How can I go to the BIOS Setup?

    Thank you in advance.

Continuously when the system starts, press F1.

my photos have disappeared since I ran the system recovery. Can I get back them?

Please tell us exactly what you mean by "system recovery." And exactly how you did.

If you mean the system recovery provides the manufacturer of your computer, what it does is to restore the computer to the State it is in when it left the factory. Yes, all your photos and anything else put you on the disk is gone.

  • Hi, not really a new Member, but I'm having difficulty with the system recovery.

I have an Acer Aspire 7741Z, I know he's older. It has windows 7 Home premium on it. I guess the hard drive went bad because I replaced it and it seemed to work. I put the system recovery discs that I bought at Acer last week and it rises to display disk copy files and looks like it loads the images file. But then it stops and gives me an error message that says "do not copy the file to the HARD drive. File G:\Images\WOP000400OENSC121103. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT.  I'm not worried about record data at this stage, just try to get the computer to work.  I don't know if I was sent a 'bad' disc or what.  Any suggestion would be great.

    Alexa

Good for you! I suppose that insufficient disk space might also explain why the installation stopped at the same place.

Try typing F2 when you first see the Acer bios screen to get back into the bios menu. Make sure your new hard drive is first in the boot order. F10 to exit and save the settings.

  • How to order or download the system recovery software?

    Hello

Most HP laptops already have called the program "recovery manager" that is built into the laptop. This allows each user recover the laptop whenever they need to.

Now, there are some situations where you can not use the program from the desktop or even during the boot.

If this is the case for you, I'll post here how to order or download the system recovery software.

This video is very useful for users who cannot access the recovery Manger in windows or during boot.

I suggest, if you are unable to download the recovery image on a USB drive to call HP @8004746836. Order a recovery through HP disk might cost if you are no longer under warranty.

    Hope it will be useful.

  • My system hangs during startup "for the first time" after running the system recovery.

    HP G62 - 227 CL

    Win 7 (64 bit)

No error message, in itself; just a screen frozen on reboot.

Months, my computer has suddenly started glitching on me.  I stopped and tried a reboot.  The system froze on start with flying colors.  System recovery tried several times but must have made a mistake because he wouldn't.  Resolved to buy a new hard drive and reinstall from the recovery disks.  Delayed unnecessarily until today, months later.

Before you buy a new hard drive, has decided to relaunch the system recovery.  It worked!  I tried the option that has deleted everything and restored to the software and factory settings.  Everything seemed to work like a charm: hard drive reformatted, reinstalled software, the system prompted me to reboot.  Yes, I did.  Windows started to boot, "Preparting your computer for first use of Setup" appears... and freezes.  For hours.  Hard drive led is off.

BTW, made sure the button Wi - Fi was on what I read on the problems of recovery if it was turned off when the program is run.

Restarted.  Press F11.  A ran maintenance and checked the hard disk for errors.  There are errors.  Unfortunately, the default setting of CHKDSK does not repair them.   A opted for a command line.  RAND CHKDSK again with option '/ f/r' seen in other posts.  Here I am too ignorant to get the program to run properly, I guess.  I ran CHKDSK on the two player X and C.  No error found... sort of.  I know they exist because the system will not start.  (Yes, I tried again.)  Return to the command prompt, I tried to run CHKDSK on the drive C again.  This time I got a message that I must first dismount (remove?) the reader.  As I don't know what that means, I opted for the 'no' and have decided to post this help message.

So.  Suggestions on what do I do then?  More specifically: How do CHKDSK to fix the errors it found?  I think the message was: "errors in $130 of the sector...". "It shows this message two times at the end of 62%.  Freezes for a long time.  Gets will still only slow down to a crawl again around 70%, but no longer.  Then returns to the start of system recovery screen.

System recovery ran again for the pleasure.  Again, seemed to work like a charm.  Unfortunately, the laptop again sits frozen at "Preparing... for first use" screen again.  It heats more turns.  The audible fan works now plans higher... If none of this helps.  I am stopping and waiting for your advice.

    Thank you!

    Zac:

My apologies for the delay to return to you.  Believe you that computer gremlins have not hit my very stable desktop which has been fine for years with sudden instability driver?  McAfee thanks for this most recent update!

In any case, after several diagnoses and find the hard drive has failed in each of them, I decided to install a new copy of Windows 7 as a test while I wait for my upcoming recovery disks in the mail.  I did it by removing all partitions on the drive and do a fresh install.  Here again, everything seemed to go well until that (apparently) a certain area of the drive was used to save/installation of the files.  Even after CHKDSK runs several times (each time he repaired several defective sectors but stalled after only 10% of the disk) the system will become unstable - the last number being a blank screen after logging on to Windows.  So, all in all, epic fail on the side of the hard drive.  The new drive is installed and waiting for my recovery disks.

Thanks for all your suggestions.  They have been a great help with information, but not with the results because of the training.
