Reviving a dead Tungsten E2?

Recently, I decided to add the DataViz application "in the Box to Go" to my Tungsten E2. [I was already successfully using other applications of DataViz].  Outlook, which has a huge Inbox of reading, but mail recovered as I save account e-mail account I linked to my office.  Syncing intial Hot that froze my computer [Windows XP] with Hot Sync does not not at post loading part of the synchronization and my Tungsten E2 just hard dies.  I tried all three 'boot ups' indicated on the Palm site. Nothing, nada.  The Tungsten E2 has a black screen and is unresponsive.  Any advice or suggestions that anyone might have to deal with this would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

"Compensation management" worked!  I'm back in business.  Thank you.

  • Want to revive a dead Satellite Pro 4220 XCDT

Hi, hope someone here can help me!

I had recently an old 4220 by a friend for free with the sorting and new mobile phones her friends (ie remove Vista and put xp on them so they would actually work!). He was a Catalan installation of XP on it, so I wiped it and put Windows 2000 on it, which was great, except that I kept getting the error code 31 on the pcmcia wireless card I put in there, so I upped it to XP that worked well with the map, but due to limitations of the system has been little juddery when multimedia streaming. I decided to give another 2000 go and reinstalled and tried to set the mode of recovery to try to resolve the error 31, but had no luck with it.

However, when I reset the recovery mode machine, he returned once never again: no picture, no beeps, but the power/battery lights are on, and it runs the cd-rom for a few seconds. In addition, by pressing the "fn" key lights up its small led above the keyboard, but only for the first 30 seconds or while it is switched on. I tried to connect another monitor, but no luck, I tried by pressing the 'ESC' or 'F1' when trying to get into the bios or something else, I have tried unplug electric network and remove the battery from the day overnight as suggested elsewhere and I even took it apart and removed the battery cmos for a few seconds , but none of it worked.

Can I assume that it is most likely a blown motherboard? If so, am I right to assume that 4200 has the same motherboard as the 4300 series (the TOSHIBA B36086701), and that a replacement should do the trick? In addition, I find it difficult to find the specs on this forum, I would buy a faster processor for this (currently has a P3 450), and I was wondering what is the speed max can take? (See someone on this forum say there a p3 700 in his, but wondered whether she could get one faster?)

Also, before he died, I tried to increase the RAM, it has 64 MB on board and he had a key of 64 MB Toshiba in here, but I bought on ebay 2 x PC133 128 mb 144 pin SODIMM, but when I tried to start with them the OS would fail (XP said it had a defective pci.sys and 2000 would simply wants) However I was able to get any of the Poles recognized in A slot in the BIOS. Am I right in thinking that this map is pretty picky and need memory PC100, IE can make memory to resign?

    Thanks for any help!

I think of 450 to 700 mhz, it's a very nice performance gain on this old machine.
Anyway have you tried to put the memory of 64 MB module and start your laptop?

And you're right, you need memory with this form:

    SO DIMM Non ecc PC100

No, the file is a java executable file.  Personally, I would take the risk for an hour to revive a dead device...

  • Brand new AspireSwitch10 power not on. No LED light. He once worked in the wall outlet. Any difficulty?

Unpacked new device plugged into the wall during the night to recharge, but unable to see the light as notes Quick Guide to LED. While it is plugged into the wall, I was able to run the installation program and start downloading Office 365. Don't know if this one ends as the screen went black. Cannot restart. Does anyone know how to revive a dead device? If there is no suggestion, I'll try to replace the power cord.

Try a long press of the key power + volume down, it will get into the bios, press F10, save and exit. then it will restart Windows.

Furthermore, no during charging led light isn't a good thing, don't forget that you have completely plugged taking it works 10.

  • m7680n Desktop 'dead' - revivable PSU by jumpering exploit?

My will is m7680n not turning on - dead - no clicks, lights, or whatever it is (except the small green led lit on the power supply).

Doing surgery with instructions of the internet will allow you green rider to the ground (from power supply), and carefully tamp 24pin to motherboard will start System (I hit it now).

What is the problem?  Front switch has mainly been ruled out.  Motherboard and the PSU (other?) have been proposed by others.

Is there a way to tell what is the problem?

    Thank you very much.

Near the CMOS battery on almost all motherboards, there is a three-pin header that says CLR CMOS generally.

In the default position (jumper between pins 1-2 battery currently provides to the CMOS chip so it can keep the BIOS settings)

In the reset position (jumper pins 2-3) all the information are deleted, including the date and time. This information is generic to almost all motherboards

  • Tungsten E dead

My Tungsten E after several years just died.  The on/off switch does nothing.  Tried a soft and hard re-set, but it only goes so far.  What appears is the Palm logo bars mobile and the first screen with bubble at the bottom right and then the screen turns white.  Any suggestions to get my very useful Palm running.  Fortunately I backed up only 3 days, so all the data is in my computer.

During the scan through this site (it's new for me), I've seen someone suggestion to try a soft reset while the PDA is connected to the charger.  It worked!  I'm embarrassed to admit that the battery was probably very low, even though I thought I had reloaded.  The warning message never came. This brings another question, that the point of contact for recharging wire is loose and she must bow so for the icon of lightning to appear on the battery icon.

  • Reviving a Novatel EU870D in a Portege R500?

    Hi all

I took a risk with my Novatel 3 G modem, i.e., I tried upgrading the firmware with a floating tool around. Unfortunately, the upgrade has failed and now the modem is dead. As in, does not appear in the system all the more. Well, it was pretty useless for me anyway, as was the case, that's why I tried this. Of course, 7.2 Mbps support would have been nice also.

But now the question is, can the modem revived somehow? The other question is, if I get an other Novatel EU870D and put it in the R500, I have hurt or it'll just work?

    Hi mate

To be honest I've never done any firmware modem update, but in my opinion, it would be difficult to get the modem works the back course it just my personal opinion and I think that the Novatel guy could give more details on this topic.

  • synchronization is slow to non-existent on the Tungsten e2

I have the original desktop on a WinXP installation software, and for awhile, I forgot that this is. I was always sync my e2 on my w7 laptop, with the new version of ACCESS of Palm Desktop and ACCECA drivers for the USB docking station.

I rediscovered my Palm desktop on the XP machine and rememebered it kind of "disappeared" for awhile it is because I've been logging in as a regular user, and Palm Desktop does not run unless I connect as long as administrator (and no, I can't use "run as" for Palm Desktop).

I tried to sync as an administrator on the XP machine, and it's been syncing my calendar for hours, now. Certainly, it must have been 1-2 years since my last sync on XP, but I still think it shouldn't take 2 hours (and more) for the synchronization to occur. The application doesn't seem to be suspended, if the icon animated showing the synchronization is any indication.

Any ideas? I have to leave this installation of Palm for the dead?

Synchronization problem has been somewhat fixed in W7 by go to HotSync settings, by clicking Applications, unchecking Agenda, address book, task list, and Notepad.

Duplicate entries are still there, and what has happened is that the rest of the Palm sync, and unchecked items do not have. So, I left only Agenda unchecked, and so the rest of the Palm sync, except the agenda.

So, the problem has been isolated to the only Agenda. Now, I tried "Replaces Desktop" and he hung up. If I try the reverse operation ("overwrites handleld"), I know I will lose data. This is because when I uninstalled last Palm Desktop, I deleted the files when I should have just backed up their. Rash skin decision here, but I first suspected corruption on my desktop files. Because he gets caught, my only choice now was to execute "Desktop replaces handheld" an agenda for the most part empty, rewriting years of former times.

The Agenda worked well on the Palm, but now I can't sync. Without a backup on the desktop, I have myself screwed in this recent updates will be lost. I went through each element of planning, dated in the future and they are entered manually on my Palm Desktop. After this event, I felt better to lose the old data on my Palm when I hit now updated.

When I did, all set to update as expected, so in hindsight, the book Date file was corrupted on the tungsten. Update of the old appointments TI started badly, but meh, at least my future appointments has been backed up, and then I put HotSync to its normal settings (synchronize files) and now is more suspended.

All an adventure and almost screwed myself a couple of times, but now evrything seems to be better.

  • Tungsten C that show few signs of life.

I have a couple of Tungsten C, that does not illuminate. But when put in an engine cradle, the green lights light up and screens light up white and, in one case, sparkle. They also have the grey Tower after a while. But they show no other signs of life and, when detached from the base, the screens turns off immediately.

I wonder if replacing the battery would do something useful. Or is there any other suggestions?

In addition, I have a couple of other C which works with the same cradle (as do my T2 and T3), so that the cradle and USB connection are OK.

Devices certainly indicate that the batteries are dead.

There are many places online where the batteries can be bought.  And here's one:

  • Tungsten E2 stays on. Cannot open

I have a Tungsten E2, which is out of warranty.  Several months ago I loaded and when I tried to turn it on I got the screen "Palm Powered.  I couldn't open it.  I replaced the battery and it worked for a few weeks and now when I charge it it continues to do the same thing.  I constantly get the screen.  I have reset several times, but am unable to open it.  If anyone has experienced this?  I think he's dead?  Y at - it a hope?

You say you have the reset several times, but have you done a hard reset? Maybe it's what will solve this problem. You can go to kb.palm.com and in the identification of solutions of type 887 window. This will bring up the instructions on how to do a hard reset. You will know that you did correctly if it asks you to "erase all data.  With this bear said in mind if you have not saved your data lately, all data on the device will be lost.  If this does not resolve the problem, it will be repaired or replaced. To check your repair options you can call 866-935-7256 and they wil he will discuss with you.

  • Moving from Tungsten E to a used TX

I have been using a Tungsten E for several years. It's battery is dead, and my husband has a TX that used, he wants more. I want to put my data on his Palm, but when I tried to sync that he would pass his Palm on my Mac as a new user, but I couldn't get my data from my Mac in his Palm. I changed my username on Mac for the same thing as his Palm, but he said that I couldn't use Mac to synchronize two Palms of hands with the same user name. I'm not very functional in such things...

I got it to work finally!

  • Revive a show after a 1 year absence

    Hello.

I have a friend who had a podcast, but he has not been on iTunes for a year or more. She would like to resurrect and revive the show.

She would be able to revive the show as if it were brand new on iTunes because it has been so long or have to rename the show and acting like she starts everywhere? It does not depend on who was his host? (it was a host of brand X, not Libsyn or Blubrry)

    Thank you.

It all depends on why it was removed from the shop - for example if the food has gone offline it would disappear; If the food remained, but was not updated have been deleted (even though mine has not been updated for several years and it's still there).

She must go to http://podcastsconnect.apple.com and sign in with the same Apple ID that was used to send the podcast in the first place. If she sees his podcast listed here it may be able to resubmit. If not, or if she's there but greyed out, it will need to change the feed URL and submit it from scratch as a new podcast. (It is immaterial who hosts the feed or the episodes). She must make sure everything is OK before you do, by registering manually in iTunes (in the 'File' menu) and by ensuring that downoad episodes and play OK.
