Revolve 810 G1 keyboard characters when you type

Hi all

Just got a new HP turn 810 G1 tablet / laptop (12 GB memory 256 GB SDD). Otherwise, things are smooth, but it is extremely annoying problem of keyboard abandonment / jump / lose some of the characters when entering. It is not random, specific keys or combos. So far in this post, he jumped about 10 characters. It does not require typing fast, even in the start menu Win 8, when you search for an app and then hit enter to start the application, it could not react on the press of entry. It is just an example, letters are missing from any where as I type. I type pretty fast and know I'm hitting the right keys. Disable the touchpad does not help, it's not that I would accidentally touch it as you type.

I've updated the BIOS, restored the OS to factory State (full restore HP), go to the English localization of OS, installed all the updates of Windows - no help.

This makes work a pain, it is not possible to cat or document type when you need to go back and correct the errors that you have not done all the time.

HP Support Assistant is not find more updates, number of product H5F12EA #AK8, WIn 8 Pro 64-bit. I installed a 8GB SODIMM under the back cover, included 4GB chip replacement. Will run a memtest overnight.

Anyone the same light?

Update of the situation-

Nothing doesn't I could do thorough tests (including memory) HW run, tests the user added 8 GB SODIMM removed, SIM card removed, removed battery (switch required), full restoration of BONE made a couple of times (END / ENG locations), HP Support Assistant Windows Update patches applied, another keyboard + touchpad drivers of the repository product drivers downloaded and installed, the settings keyboard and touch twisted and applied a pious hope of heap.

Called HP and at least one portable old of the week will now be replaced by a new. A few more lost days, I hope it'll work at least!

    Hi all!
    I have a problem with my brand new L20 miss a lot of characters when I type. After searching in the forums, it seems that a few people also have this problem. I was wondering if anyone has had any chance to fix this problem yet.

    As far as I know, the problem seems to be in Windows XP, (I dual-boot with Linux Slackware 10.2 and do not notice the problem here) and I * think * it might have something to do with the internet. I say this because it is really noticeable for me when I'm online, writing emails etc... (Written on this forum takes a lot of error correction) :)

    Has anyone else has been able to isolate when this problem is at its worst?

    Also, is it possible to group all those who encounter this same issue in a thread? I think that there are about 3 separate threads here where people have mentioned this problem, it would be nice to get everyone together to see if we can solve.

    I brought this laptop for programming, and as you can imagine I dare not try try any coding while what is happening, because it would cause too many problems :)
    So please, any help, advice, tips, advice or solutions would be welcome.

    Toshiba Satellite A60 106 running Windows XP missing characters when I type. If I type very slowly every key works fine. Many letters are removed to normal typing speed. This happens in all applications and does not load. The key repeat rate is also slower that we should (I know how to define it, the problem is not with the setting but with the fact that the setting is not honored or recognized correctly).

    Virus/spyware scanner reports clean. The problem started all of a sudden for no apparent reason and does not seem to be associated with any hardware or software changes. Tried to start in safe mode, try to disable all non-essential progams services started via msconfg but to no avail. problem still there.

    Laptop has historically suffered badly from overheating, but this problem is not related of course it's the same thing that the machine is hot or cold.

    Any ideas?

    Have you installed drivers for a keyboard or an external mouse? (for example, Logitech or Microsoft)

    What BIOS version? You have the latest version?

    Is this a common fault with the Toshiba. I've seen some messages referring to disable the touchpad. However I don't think that this is a solution to the problem and Toshiba should provide a fix.

    As Christopher said use FN + F9 key combination to disable the touchpad. If the problem persists you should contact the Service partner. I'm sure they have more experience with it.

    I use two models of laptops different and same happen to me. Not often, but sometimes.

    Since you're on a laptop, I suppose that you have a right of trackpad under the keyboard. It may be that you hit the trackpad with your wrist or Palm when you type.

    Try to change the sensitivity of the mouse and see if that helps or if you have a setting to disable the trackpad when you type. I have

    Click Start, control panel and select slider and change your settings in there...

    I don't know where the settings would be for the Compaq Presario but you can always check with the manufacturer to get the correct settings for your laptop.

    Hello Michele,

    A fairly common problem for laptops - its caused by the thumb, finger or palm (s) hit the Touchpad when you type. The infallible remedy only is an external mouse with Touchpad disabled. To do this, or just disable the Touchpad, go to control panel, select mouse properties and select the Touchpad tab in the top row of tabs.

    This will open an applet that allows you to select the order of Touchpad buttons, a check box parameter to disable the Touchpad when an external mouse is detected.  If you want faster access to this setting, make sure to display the icon in the system tray is also checked, and you will be able to access this setting in the notification area (bottom right of the task bar, click the arrow to access the Touchpad icon).

    To avoid problems to repeat in the future, make sure that if you go to Device Manager to "RID" the Touchpad you only disable the Touchpad as opposed to uninstall the Touchpad. If you uninstall the Touchpad, the next time you restart your computer, the applet will appear again back in place. You can only disable the Touchpad to get rid of him.
