  • T430S keyboard keeps 'jump' when entering?

I have a T430s and I like it so far, except a negative thing is that it keeps 'jump' around each time I type. During typing, at random times that he'll jump whenever the cursor is placed at the time, often in the middle of a word I had already typed previously. (He did 4 times while typing this message) Obviously, this makes very annoying to have to repeat a word or phrase over and over again. I certainly don't type very fast and try to be careful with my hand placement, but like a normal adult male size, is possible that the new keyboard Chiclet makes it easier to my fingers or palm to inadvertently move or tap on the touchpad that is causing this problem? Or is it a software defect?

It's my second Thinkpad and I've never had this problem before. Please advise! Thank you.

  • T430 keyboard failure

    Hello world.

I am having a serious problem with my recently acquired - particularly with his keyboard T430:

-It seems that the circuits of keyboards / electrical contacts are not very well insulated or poorly designed (at least this is my explanation of the problem) - so that pressing or in my case, a few specific keys triggers several other keys! Is affected mainly the upper part of the keyboard (Tab/F/number/Hotkey - lines).

-Now - I had this problem after a month using the laptop - I called support and replaced the keyboard (great service) but now - as another month later - it seems that the exact same failure happens again!

I don't think, that I use and treat my laptop the wrong way... on the contrary I'm almost too careful manipulation.

    Then

-Is anyone else have / had the same problem?

-Do you think that the problem might even be a malfunction of the software and not based on hardware?

-What I - what I - what would you do?

An input and support is appreciated!

    Greetings

    GE

    Good afternoon Guenst,.

If you have replaced the keyboard and you still experience a problem, you can send your system for repair to the deposit.

Usually, when still a problem like yours, the issue that seems to have the system doesn't have an obvious solution.

I recommend to call the help line and put them in place to send in your system for repair.

The repair may be better able to identify and solve your problem of keyboard.

  • Error reading data Configuration system after a keyboard spill

Hi, I have a huge problem.

First of all, I am dual-booting Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 and Ubuntu 9.10. That is how I am able to post here, because Windows will not work. I have a laptop Gateway which is about a year and a half now, and I need it for school work. Today while I was working, I just turned around and knocked over a bottle of water, which some of its content seeps to the computer keyboard. I have dried up as much excess mess I could and turned off the computer to let it dry. Back to put on gave me an error. The gateway logo came on the screen, as it was loading up, and it got to the point just before it reaches the bootloader and made up a list of Windows process is apparently at the start of the computer each time that. Well under something in the sense of "Mouse initialized" there is an error that says: "System configuration data read error - press F1 to continue, press F2 to Setup."

The first time, the F1 and F2 keys button would not respond. I assumed it was because of the water, and tried again later. I tried to continue, and the computer has the bootloader without any problem. I'm on Linux to see if it works properly, and he did. I went to mount the C:\ drive and check all of the corrupted files and from the looks of it, there are not. So I restarted the computer, pressing F1 on the error screen again and tried to load Windows. Windows does not start, and I got a message that says essentially that some files has been prevents me to start Windows, and that a Vista disc to the same version I have on my computer allow me to repair the damaged file. I do not have a disk.

I need to go down any important Windows data and I can do it through Linux, but it is more convenient to do it in Windows. How can I fix this problem without a Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 disk? A FSC would help? If so, how can I get a? Would let the computer dry a little more help?

    Thanks in advance!

Give him more time to dry.

If problem persisits, you may need to contact Gateway re replace the laptop keyboard, material etc:

    http://support.gateway.com/support/default.aspx

And if you need a start-up repair disc in the future:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

  • Keyboard Satellite A100-906 after spilled drink

    Hello

I am owner of a Satellite A100-906 and I spilled liquid on the keyboard.
As I read on the official website of the product, the keyboard is the spill-resistant.
If I have understood correctly, the keyboard is covered by the warranty in case of spilled liquid.
    Is this fair?

    Thanks in advance,

    Maria

    Hello

I think you had something misunderstanded:

The keyboard is resistant to the spill, but that doesn´t means that it keeps water away from the machine. After checking Asian toshiba website, I found the following description:

    "A keyboard resistant splashes that increase the protection of the system by providing users with enough time to save their work and shut down the system in the case of a spill;

That means the keyboard prevents only the liquids to invade quickly into the machine, but that doesn´t means that the keyboard is covered by the warranty after any spillage of liquids on your machine.

    Welcome them

P.s.: That all means you will be charged for repair...

  • ThinkPad X 220-spill proof keyboard?

I am interested in buying a Thinkpad X 220. I attended my friend demonstrate a "spill proof" keyboard on its Thinkpad T410s. Is - what the 220 X come with a spill proof keyboard? I love this laptop and its characteristics (webcam 720 p, autonomy, Thinkpad keyboard), but even after reading and watching a lot of positive reviews on this laptop, I couldn't find an answer. It is not an addition of mark or the rupture, but definitally one comforting feature when you are a drinker of coffee enthusiast like me .

    Thank you

Hi JPM and welcome to the forum!

You can tell your friend that the feature isn't here for the demo, but for accidental spills only and which also has its limits, if the system break down due to liquid damage would not be covered by warranty regardless of lenovo spill-resistant keyboard. unless of course you purchase ThinkPad Protection Plan with your laptop, which covers accidental damage such as these.

    I hope this helps.

  • Bottom line keys Lenovo T430 does not

    Hello

I have Lenovo laptop, T430, I cleaned it and closed the lid, so he went to the sleepmode, when I turned on the bottom row keys were not work - including the one above the bottom line that starts with z, also enter key.

I used the same solution that I use to clean the screen, it should be relatively safe more T430 must be resistant to spills.

I removed the keyboard and checked the cable and the connection to the motherboard, all was well but its still does not. However when im on the login screen, it shows as key Z, which shouldn't work, he is constantly depressed and typed my password field.

Im running win 10 and have not had any problems.

So that leaves me the possibility that mobo is faulty, the keyboard is defective or software partners. A few months ago dissipated my warranty if im trying to figure out until I'm sending for the technicians they will charge me if I do.

    No doubt the keyboard

  • Overflow keyboard on Satellite U200

My question is: are all the groups are U200 such a keyboard overflow?
How overflow is that keyboard? Can I spill my coffee? Or wash in water?

  • «Ms Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v1.0: "Down arrow" key release when button "ARROW on the left «»

I've had this keyboard for several years and it works very well, but there was a problem with what I was never able to solve.
My arrow "to" doesn't work when I press the 'left' arrow key  If I am now the 'left' arrow key and then press the 'down' arrow key, it does nothing either.

It is not a problem except when I use the arrow keys to move an avatar in a game (especially shooters).  This does not happen to the direction keys on the numeric keypad, just the main arrows.  For an example of game, I'm able to move in all directions except diagonal-left-down, and I can't share 'left' to 'down' without a full version of 'left '.

I even coded a sample program to print text down button is broadcast with an keyReleased() event.  It goes off when I press the arrow key to the left and also when I actually release the arrow key down.  So if I press key, then the left key, then release button, I get it two times in a row, but if I press the left key only, it does not print the text, and if I press and release the button by holding the left button down while it ALSO does not print.  If the key is completely overridden by the left arrow.

What the heck!  I have the latest drivers, so is this material instead?  This isn't a new problem, so I don't think it's dirt either (especially since its spill resistant), but I don't know what I can do about it at this stage.

    Hello

Have you tried to completely uninstall the drivers and then by downloading and installing drivers from the manufacturer's website?

You can check the link mentioned below to do the same thing:

  • Problem with keyboard Pavilion dv6000 - continuous 'J '.

I have a dv6700z who has a keyboard problem. When I try to type I get sometimes 1 but more often conyinuous jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj. By simultaneously pressing the "j" key will not type a 'J '. It happened once before a few months and I put up the keyboard and he fell back and the problem disappeared, but came back. I am on vacation now and do not have the tools to try to lift the keyboard. To the best of my knowledge, it has keyboard spills, but who knows that my children sometimes use the laptop. Writing this on my wife's cell phone

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Wait until you get home and reinstall again. Don't lift it and fall again. Reconnect the ribbon cable. I bet that you will have a few more months of good "j" s. If this does not work, download a new keyboard. For $40 or more, it truly rejuvenates an old laptop. In the meantime without tools simple all you can try remove the keyboard driver from Device Manager and reboot to reload the driver. It might or might not help.

  • ThinkPad Edge E420 keyboard (FRU) part number

I have a Thinkpad Edge E420 model CTO 1141 - I need to replace the keyboard (spilled coffee and the keys are blocked)-since it is out of warranty, I intend to do it myself - when I looked for parts.

If I give the model number, then the FRU for the keyboard presents itself as 04W0764.

If I give the serial number also then the FRU will be 04W2631.

Which is the right to a 04W0764 or a 04W2631?

    Two identical models are?

    Please notify.

    Thank you

Hi bhaskar39, welcome to the forums.

both are actually correct.  As far as I can tell that the 04W2631 is a number of 'old' that has been replaced by 04W0764. You can also use a 04W0800 that is from another manufacturer to another.
