  I have recently moved to the Iran and I have the Bold 9900, the BIS is not supported by all providers here and I use a prepaid SIM (Iran-cell). Unfortunately they donot even have the GPRS for my phone here.  I looked through the net and read different answers to my own question, saying there is no way that I can use my BBM here without the data plan, at the same time, I heard Sagna saying they could use their BBM in here... So, just to make sure... Is there anyway I can use my BBM here somehow? I tried to connect to the wifi, but that did not work, could not even use the WhatsApp...

  With devices (for example, pre-BB10), a BIS plan any is indeed necessary to some carrier who can provide. With BB10, the requirement for the BIS is removed. Maybe that's why the others you know are able to use BBM... If they are on BB10 devices, then they may very well work with generic data plans. Many applications beyond BBM also require plan BIS - I recall, WhatsApp is one of those (but you should check the site of WhatsApp to know for sure).

  Hello. It is a follow-up question to another post.

  I'm in Norway for 6 months. I have T-mobile USA with the Blackberry service that I intend to suspend this period of 6 months. The only provider of services of Blackberry in Norway (Trigcom) does not allow a 6 month subscription (1 year), do not know if others do.

  I was just wondering, if I have the telephone service by a telephone company with no Blackberry service, which features in my phone I have not will be able to use. I can survive without the push email service using Google's Gmail for this period. But I rely on web browsing, google chat, google maps and other services intensively. I also use T - mobile UMA much, which works very well at home. The phone itself is excellent, so I was hoping to just put a SIM card and use everything normally except for the push e-mail and UMA.

  Does anyone have experience with the help of a curve without Blackberry service while retaining all the features above? Ask yourself what to ask because I get a mobile service provider.

  • SMS (send & receive)
  • MMS (send & receive)
  • anything that requires no internet

  especially, no navigation available, unless you have a Wi - Fi connection on your device.

  I was watching the "BOLD" error log and I came across a couple of fields marked "serious error". It seems that it is because of some kind of rendering on a modal dialog box, but I don't know exactly how to read the newspaper very well. Here's the glued log entry. Any ideas?

  I'm having hard set up the "BOLD" as a modem attached. Rogers is the service provider and the "BOLD" is not supported by their Communications Manager. They directed me to the EDGE, but they seem to only have a method to use Modem Standard, which consist in a connection. Does anyone know how to use this device as a modem in data direta to a laptop, as is possible with other BB models.

  2. click on backup and restore > advanced

  3. scroll the list to the right of "profiles".

  4. highlight "Profiles" and click on "Cancel".

• BB Bold 9700 Smartphones BlackBerry alarm Please HELP :(

  I set the alarm and switched off the phone.

  The phone turns on the alarm time but I have emails coming through and they always stop the alarm ringing.  I see that the alarm lights up as he said to reject or Snooze, but there is never any sound.

  Yes, you need to hit Menu > bedside enter Mode each time that you configure the alarm and sleep. Just one condition to get a good nites sleep

  with regard to the parameters:

  Disable the LED = disables the annoying flashing when you get a notifcation = YES

  Disable the Radio = rounds out of your connection to the world your choice = I put it or not

  = Reduced the brightness of your display screen dims = YES

  His profile = all alerts Off no = no sounds

  My camera worked when I got the phone.  Now, the camera feature does not work.  The error message states: "the camera is use by another application.  Close other applications and try opening the camera again. "My problems began with the key of convenience inadvertently starting the camera almost every time that I slipped the phone in its cradle.  I tried to disable the convenience key, but the configuration to disable the convenience key does not open.  At one point, there was a message stating that no more pictures could be taken to the memory is full.  I don't take NO pictures with my phone at this stage, at least by design.  Help!  Thank you

  Everything was going well 5 hours ago. Backup and synchronization with Desktop Manager and everything was good. I clicked on the 'Device upgrade' link. He me everything first download and install the new Desktop Manager software. This seemed to work properly. Then it downloaded the new software device and conclusive to upgrade of the unit.

  7.1 bundle, 2705 (v7.1.0.991 platform 5.1.0.678)

  The Setup program indicates that the new software has been installed, and then it seems to want to reboot the device. The device never returns, ends with an App error 606.

  I loaded the cool device software, without change. Removed Software Desktop, loaded fresh, then loaded a fresh device software, without change.

  I tried to load my old device software but the Desktop Manager will not allow him.

  I reloaded software device 3 times, always the same behavior, always the same error at the end.

  I'm out of ideas.

  This bit is quite unusual... done correctly, you can force any OS on your BB package as long as it's your exact model number. So I'm not sure if you're really using all the good stuff... so, even if a lot of this will be redundant, please examine carefully for subtle tricks do you need to... done correctly, this can heal the situation. But any errors on the way (not ignored, stage not completed correctly, etc.) invalidates the whole process and translates the automatic process of support and limited to only the OS packages currently supported by your specific carrier.

  I ordered the Bold 9780 but I'm afraid, I had another model delivered instead (most likely the 9700). As they are almost identical in design, I have a very specific question on these 'key - separator lines' (don't no how else to call). I mean these horizontal lines between the rows of keys.

  One of the differences in the design seems to be that the 9700 separators has MONEY. They are much darker on the 9780, and certainly NO money--and that's what I ordered actually.
