Curve Smartphones blackBerry without service Blackberry in Norway?

Hello. It is a follow-up question to another post.

I'm in Norway for 6 months. I have T-mobile USA with the Blackberry service that I intend to suspend this period of 6 months. The only provider of services of Blackberry in Norway (Trigcom) does not allow a 6 month subscription (1 year), do not know if others do.

I was just wondering, if I have the telephone service by a telephone company with no Blackberry service, which features in my phone I have not will be able to use. I can survive without the push email service using Google's Gmail for this period. But I rely on web browsing, google chat, google maps and other services intensively. I also use T - mobile UMA much, which works very well at home. The phone itself is excellent, so I was hoping to just put a SIM card and use everything normally except for the push e-mail and UMA.

Does anyone have experience with the help of a curve without Blackberry service while retaining all the features above? Ask yourself what to ask because I get a mobile service provider.

Thank you!

Hello

without a BlackBerry service, you have GSM and edge (no EDGE).
This means that you can do with your BlackBerry

  • phone calls (send & receive)
  • SMS (send & receive)
  • MMS (send & receive)
  • anything that requires no internet

especially, no navigation available, unless you have a Wi - Fi connection on your device.

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Curve Smartphones - no Signal/Service

I don't have a signal or service on my phone and coverage is sporadic and was for 36 hours.  I drive 2 miles away, and I can get weird signal for a few moments, enough to pick up the strange text.

T - mobile said there are 2 cells down in the box, but it's questionable, when 2 other people at home have no problems with their service.

They believe that there is a problem with the phone.  Maybe the antenna is damaged in the phone?

    Any suggestions welcome please?

    Thank you

Glad to hear that it is under repair.

In addition, you have your phone number listed on your 'My Mobile provider' or the carrier. Put your phone number on the internet on these public forums for the world to see, is not wise. To change this, at the top of this page, click my settings > personal profile > personal information and in the entrance of the block of type 'Carrier' the name of your mobile operator.

  • Curve Smartphones blackBerry 8330 will not light

Hello I had my Blackberry Curve 8330 on my Verizon plan for 2 months and the trackball fell and the phone now will not light. No, he is not dead. I loaded hours (the light turns while loading) and yet the phone still turn. Please help and thank you

Leave the appliance to charge on a wall charger, then, still connected to the cable, remove the battery from the camera for a minute and reinsert. If it starts - let - the charges to 100% (check the Options > status for the percentage). If it is not restart on the first attempt, leave several hours. I had a charge for two days before, she came back to life after extreme exhaustion of the battery. Every 3-4 hours with the device plugged into the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it restarts.

  • Curve Smartphones blackBerry freezes when used Facebook app used

BB messenger, email and browser will freeze on my curve once I have upload a photo on Facebook.  It has been upgrading the FB app.  (At least that is when I noticed this).  I get an "uncaught exception error" and the battery must be pulled to reset the phone.  It is certainly a problem of software, as Verizon already sent me a replacement phone and the same problem persists!  I've updated all my BB applications to the latest version, btw.  Anyone know what is happening?

It's here. I know that this seems to be a link shady, but I promise you there is nothing wrong with it. It is a perfectly clean OTA installation of Facebook 1.8 and I have used (and still use) myself.

    (1) make sure that you remove Facebook from your Blackberry.

    (A) options > Applications

    (B) the drop down menu and change it to "Modules". This menu is on the upper right.

    (C) scroll down and find Facebook, select it and the button Delete is there.

Alternatively, you can simply scroll over the icon in the applications menu, press menu again and go to delete. But I do not trust in this way.

    2) navigate to this address on your Blackberry: http://bit.ly/facebook49

    (3) follow the installation as usual.

    This should help clear up.

    SUCCESS!

a unique 3 hours phone call (no kidding - there is a clock on my desk phone) on the phone being transferred in both directions between AT & T and Blackberry, then AT & T said they needed from 1 hour in addition to fix.it and I didn't have to be on the phone for that.   Phew.  Do nice with my co-workers after this vacuum of time.

  • Blackberry curve Smartphones blackBerry 9320 doesn't scroll properly

My fone stopped scroll correctly for most in the mail, but sometimes other things nobody knows how to solve this problem.

    Hello lorrapaw

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Have you tried a battery pull reboot?

Please try a battery pull restarts by removing the battery while your unit is powered, wait at least a minimum then reinsert back. Check again after the reboot if you are able to scroll properly.

  • Curve Smartphones blackBerry 8520 connected to network bb

I have a blackberry 8520 connected wireless to my ISP BT

It will connect to the internet and allows you to surf the internet, but won't let me sign in yahoo mail. When I try the login box appears for a few seconds, then disappears behind an ad that comes immediately after it and the lock on the top of the page changes straight to an orange padlock.  I disconnected the e-mail on the pc and logged in again to see what is happening there. The exact same announcement came, but the login box was above it, allowing me to connect.

The phone is connected to the network and works well.  I was able to connect with no problem.  The only thing I can find is now on the phone itself. Check connections, my homehub watch is on, but also shows a white dash, which means that it is not connected to the network.  I can't find anything in the help files on how to reconnect to the network.

Can someone point my in the right direction.

Thanks for reading and in advance for any help offered.

Interesting. But if it is said that, just try clicking on Yes. And just, the PSK is the pre-shared key, or the wifi password.

If it still does not respond, the solution may be to back up your phone using the BlackBerry Desktop Software and do a security wipe. To do this, go to Options > Security Options > Security wipe. Do a wipe of the application data. Once it is finished, perform a selective restore by using the BlackBerry Desktop Software and restore only the databases you need (e.g. messages, address book, calendar, etc.).

Then you should be able to start from scratch.

  • Curve Smartphones blackBerry charging pod/dock

Is there a reason why I should not buy the pods/docks from Amazon? I really want to get 3 (one for labour), two for the mine and hubby @ home BB.

only, depends on if you feel the Amazon of the service quality is enough for you, or the quality of service from the seller if you use Amazon MarketPlace.

I bought 10 docks of curve for me & some friends @ amazon MarketPlace and was very pleased with (I don't remember the name of the seller however).
