    Hello all,.

Just installed R & R 100 GB Hitachi again, got 2010 error I knew would happen until the update to the BIOS. Anyway, shouldn't go to Windows after the installation is complete? Everything starts with R & R once again. Also additional disk keeps saying bad disc but certified Lenovo as a whole. I ignore the process? Any help much appreciated.

  • back & recovery

bought back & recovery for the laptop. can I use on the desktop as well?

    luaynevan636,

The premium version of the APP is tied to a particular machine via a key ID machine. For example, you cannot use a license on several machines. However, you can back up several computers in one place if everyone has DBaR on it.  That is an ext HDD (Rescue Disk) can store backups of the entire system of several machines. Premium version of course.

  • Tecra HDD crash - how to retrieve some important data?

It is a follow-up question to my last question answered successfully.
My Tecra 60 GB HDD has stopped working and I would like to get a few days of emails etc if possible.
The Tecra default Mode options without failure, once launched, returns via a BSOD no matter what the safe mode option is taken.

    I have:
checked in the BIOS - it is considered as here.
run SEATOOLs for Dos and it says that there is a flaw on short and long tests
the HARD drive via a box connected USB to my other PC and finally it say that there is an input/OUTPUT error.
Ran CHKDSK through my CD of XP and after 26%, he says there are one or more unrecoverable errors.

Also, I tried an old HDD that is functioning normally in the Tecra.

    Any help would be appreciated

    > connected via a case and USB HARD drive to my other PC and finally he says that there is input/output of error.

This means that you are not able to get access to the same HARD drive using an external USB enclosure?
It seems that the HARD drive is damaged and in most cases, the data could not be retrieved on the usual way.
Of course, there are various services of data recovery, but they charge between 500 and 1000 to try to save the disaster either logic or mechanical data.

There are also different tools that could be useful as RecoverMyFiles of GetData, Ontrack EasyRecovery DataRecovery or Data Rescue II of Prosoft, but you have to pay for all these professional applications

  • Satellite M70-151 - not possible to install new HDD

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite M70-151. bunch of old hard drive (100 GB Hitachi) reached the Windows XP screen then just ends with a blue screen a turn off laptop, immediately. I had to restore my data with an application file-rescue of another PC. It was not possible to start from old hard drive yet.

Then I bought a Western Digital SATA II 250 GB hard drive that put my Windows XP CD in DVD player installed and tried to start. The laptop turns off as soon as the laptop computer tried to access the HARD disk.
Thought, it was question of SATA II disk and tried a Samsung 160 GB Sata I - same result.

    BIOS recognizes the correct drives.

If I try to boot from old hard drive, it shows the issue I mentioned first, but as before it reaches the Windows XP Boot screen before moving on to the blue screen before turning off the laptop. So start goes further than the boot with new hard drives

The Windows XP CD I used is not the restore CD that came with the laptop, but a normal license.

The heat is not a problem, I cleaned the CPU fan there is enough space to breathe the cold air mobile, the temperature is ok.

    * My questions are: *.

Is there any special application running on laptops satellite, like special software of Toshiba, perhaps Backup, should I be aware of?
What I need to preformat the hard drive, Toshiba-Hardware will recognize the hard drive?

It would be great to get help on this issue, because I'm out of ideas. Thanks in advance!

    André

    Hello Andrew

This behavior is very strange. I have some old Satellite M70-159 with 100 GB HARD drive. I also tested how it will work with a 250 GB HARD drive and all is well.
On two drives, I have installed WXP using the Toshiba recovery image.

I answer your two questions No. to install Windows XP Home edition on this model of laptop you don't need some special Toshiba application or a piece of software.
HDD should be recognized correctly by the BIOS and the Windows XP Home edition installation procedure should work well.
What you can try is to set the BIOS to the default settings and try again.

The strange thing for me is that judgment. The blue screen tells me that there may be some serious hardware problem, the HARD drive controller might be. It's really not easy to say with certainty what can be the problem.

  • How to re-enable loading the recovery partition after stock mSATA SSD HDD cloning?

    Dear community,

This weekend I managed to install mSATA 80 GB Intel SSD on my older X 220 of 1 month. With the help of the Intel Data Migration Software my HARD drive 320 GB stock has been cloned on mSATA SSD 80 GB with the downsizing of the system partition main Windows7_OS (66GB instead of 287 GB) and the preservation of the windows loading partition SYSTEM_DRV and ThinkVantage Rescue & Recovery partition Lenovo_Recovery in place. Later, I removed the HARD drive to stay on the SSD system only for testing purposes.

While Windows loads fine, the BlueButton seems to be a malfunctioning now: instead of loading the partition of ThinkVantage Rescue & recovery it shows me the message of Windows loader telling me that it cannot find the target system more. What's wrong? Is there a way to remedy this?

NOTE: When I'm pulling HDD inplace and pushing the BlueButton then R & R support very well! It seems that ThinkVantage seeks R & R partition on the disk instead of SSD.

    Thank you!

OK, answering my own question: Reinstall ThinkVantage Rescue & recovery could help as soon as it re - initializes the boot partition as well.

  • Rescue & backups delete recovery HELP!

Hi, I have an SL500 and the hard drive was 250 GB, but there are 211 gb available. in any case, I noticed that I was somehow only left out of 211 gb 80 GB. I asked that he was a technician at IBM and at - he said it was my backup of files. now, the drive from my computer q crashed in March of me to try to do something with the back ups and I need a whole new HDD, but my music has been registered via a flash drive.  the tech guy said that I should remove my old back ups. very well, very well. IM do that tonight and it is literally taken hours and right when I click on 'remove' it is not an answer.  I had my computer folder (? I think it's what you call) open so I could see how much space I had, and it DECREASES in fact then I was "suppression" of backups, and yet it was inadmissible. She went from 80 GB to 60 GB. Please help me solve this problem, im shaking for fear of losing my files because I don't want to do it like the last time. I don't know what could be taken from so much space.

I plan to buy an external hard drive in the next week but please help me, I'm 17 and I'm relics fear of losing my files again and my 19 GB of music.

    Help, please

Rescue and recovery in your folder of ThinkVantage software creates backups (a full backup and the others are incremental) and stores them on another part of the HARD drive that you will not be able to see just by going to the properties of the C: drive.

Check the record of ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery

Start-> all programs-> ThinkVantage (or Lenovo Care)-> Rescue and Recovery

Once you are there, you will see a bar upstairs with 4 or 5 options. Here, you have the ability to view the size of your backups. You also have the option to delete them. Search for the word "Advanced" in the menu bar, then select 'delete backups"to remove them and free up space on your hard drive. Don't forget that you can also "schedule" of your backups and you can choose to change the location you want to that backups going. For example, you can have the backups Save on a CD or on a drive of 'network '.

If you have Vista as an operating system, you can go to this document on our site of Lenovo to get a general understanding of our HARD drive partitions:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70829

Let me know if you need additional assistance.

    Thank you

  • Install upgrade-drive HARD T42 recovery discs but hard disk starts only in routine of Rescue and Recovery.

I am doing a new installation in what follows rather than cloning because the system has not been reinstalled for 4 years.  A CD drive external usb (internal drive deleted), I installed the recovery disks on a 160 GB Samsung HM160HC PATA drive without problem.  Then you click on the button restart.  My T42 started immediately in the opening page of the routine of Rescue and Recovery.  On restart again once I use F12 to get the list of readers with the Samsung HDD.  This did not help.  Repeated many times start.  The computer could not watch any other player because the Samsung is the only one connected.  I'm tempted to download the update of the BIOS available from Lenovo that connected with the old 30 GB disk, while that my program of on-board controller is worm 3.04 and supposed to be suitable for the 160 GB drive upgrade.  If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

    Hi ned11wils,

Once the machine has restarted in recovery environment, there is an option there to restore to factory condition?

IIRC, on these older machines, the restoration is a two-step process.  First use the CD to recreate the environment of recovery, then start the environment recovery and restore from the recovery partition BONE now restored.

  • Rescue and recovery X 1 Win10PRO carbon

Just got a X carbon 1 and modernized to win 10

    1)

Wanted to use the system to make a picture, but I got

ERROR: "there was a failure while compacting the virtual disk on the backup location. (0 x 80780151)

    Googled around, bu tno solution.

Anyone know when it will be solved?

    2)

And another problem. I am IBM and Lenovo user for several years, and the best backup system I've ever used is the rescue and recovery. After getting my new X 1 carbon with 8.1 Pro I upgraded to 10 Pro and if you come for the Lenovo of installation I clicked for works RandR 4.52, which proved in the software Lenovo, but unfortunately it download, unpack and then stops. Without any news. So I started the Setup file myslef, and... my God... it can not be installed!

    I'm angry.

Why Lenovo not tell us this? And if she came, when is it ready?

Lenovo Solution Center, if you use win8 or win 10, should offer NOT RNR as a backup option.

If would be nice if they removed the advertising, "it takes a HDD to take backup more," store here.

To win 10, I would like to start off the coast with a windows image backup.  Apparently, windows launched LSC backup, and you got the return code that you noted in the initial post. Backup Windows runs fast, but it lacks many features of RNR.

I would like to run windows backup from the Control Panel, which you have done already. Some of the windows backup return codes and error messages, can be deceiving.  Check the EVENT VIEWER after windows backup error, to see if other return codes are present.

Example: "you do have not enough free space on the device target to perform a backup' RC = 0 x 00000.

Further, the question was NOT enough free space in the lecteur_systeme windows backup staging a zone index for vs.

I would check the available in System_drive freespace.  This can be a hidden partition.  You need at least 200 MB freespace.

A google search of the return code that State you have many successes.  I have try the backup, check the event viewer for VSS fail return code, which is passed back to backup windows.  If you have a VSS error, I would google search on the return code from VSS, windows backup not the return code.

  • Delete backup files Rescue and Recovery after the uninstallation of r ' not R

During the upgrade to Windows 10, Rescue and Recovery has been automatically uninstalled.  I had neglected to remove the external drive backup files before that.  I would like to locate these files so I can delete them manually.  What files are backups Rescue and Recovery?

Y at - it a compatible version of Windows 10 Rescue and Recovery?

I leave your external USB - HDD intact right now.

You might like to win 10, win10 could not meet your needs and turn.

A Loved via RNR win7 would be nice to have, just in case.

If it comes to the test computer, your decision.

  • Rescue and recovery will not restore backup files it finds when starting

I recently had a system problem on my Lenovo computer and had to recreate the image. When I try to restore my backup using rescue and recovery (R & R), they prove inaccessible. How to access these backups?

Details of the options selected in R & R are attached, as an image on the screen of the settings dialog box.

Running R & R, backups (on an external HDD USB) are visible and can be selected as expected. When the computer restarts in the space of restoration work, after a warning do not turn off the power, you get the error message "the restore has failed because the backup was not found at the specified location. Accept that the computer restarts in Windows. In this case regardless of the options selected at the start of R & R.  Where appropriate I select the USB external storage device in the Setup program and select a backup of those listed.

I also tried updating all Lenovo utilities, including R & R. The option 'get new updates"errors when downloading the package information Lenovo Service Center (1 on 1) at the helm of the 30% with the error" Exception should not met!

A lot of ongoing issues.  Many Lenovo post deal with each issue. Intel, system update, create a recovery to the USB media.

For now, I'll address your problems of rescue and recovery. It seems that your system worked well, until a database had records in doubles in it, and you want to use RI to restore a backup on your USB.

Then you have attempted a return to the factory, which show a lot of questions.

If I understand your request, you want to restore your system to some time in the past, using a backup RNR. Either last week or 2 months ago. Something that works.

    ===

RNR will save all partitions on the disk C DD.  It never saves another HARD disk.  2 readers warning has been around for a while. If C and D are on the C drive, HARD drive, it will run through RNR.

Single file restore only runs on the windows RNR.  But there is no need to restart standalone RNR (pf11 during startup).

It is ok. At least the RNR version on windows can find and restore your USB /rrbackups, of 5 min or 30 hours. This works.

    ==

Factory restore installs a RNR version right here. This version probably does not match the version on your USB. If you started the RNR factory with the USB version version, you might expect not found messages.

    ===

On your system windows today, please state the version installed.  Start using pf11 and indicate the version installed.

You cannot create recovery media and rescue on the same device. Your luck if anything boots on the USB (other positions).

Essentially, the RNR standaone version must match the /rrbackups on USB.

    =

How do restore you to the factory settings? pf11 through the work of rnr or external cd/dvd?

You are the original owner of the machine?

  • Rescue and recovery - hard disk external bootable

    Hello!

I had a problem with my external hard drive

I formatted it, created the first 160 GB (mbr) partition

I created backup top and makes bootable by the option "create rescue media.

    What is completed "successfully."

    But...

I can't it boot from usb, because I got error:

    "NTLDR is missing".

    How to fix?

    Thank you very much

What operating system are you using and what version of rescue and recovery?

It is my understanding that ACTIVATE set must take place until all the data is placed into the USB port.

My USB-hdd(1 tb) had files of data provider on it when I bought it. I ran to create a rescue support; It wouldn't boot.  I made the ACTIVE partition and still it would not boot. I have copied the close data of USB on my C drive, reformatted the USB with set ACTIVE partition.  I ran then create a support of rescue on the USB port and it will boot now.

During the "boot failure" I think that it started just a black screen with a flashing underscore. Your system says NTLDR (nt bootloader) was not found. What is probably expected. It appears during the rescue process create a media, the necessary files are placed on the USB port, showing your list of directories. For some strange reason, the partition do NOT bootable after data are placed on the USB, then the rendered partition active. (Probably a problem breast to create a rescue support?).

If you have a DVD burner, you can create a DVD rescue media, leaving your intact (with the data, but not bootable) USB. During a power outage, start you the DVD (standalone RNR) and that it points to the RNR backups on the USB port.

I think that you focus too much on the message NTLDR not found and wait the NTLDR to appear on the USB port.

On the other side of the room, there may be a problem with your boot sequence, which I doubt.

I copy your files on your C drive, if possible _user, reformat the active USB/serial  Then everything should work.

  • With the help of Rescue and Recovery to make backups of 3 different machines

Hello, I have three laptop Thinkpad T400, X 61 and R61i. I want to back up by using an external hard drive. The HD is divided into three partitions, the smallest of X 61, the middle of R61i and most importantly - for T400. I backed up all my laptops in the appropriate partitions (base backups), but now, so I want to make partial backups, they go to the bigger partition (for the T400). Is it possible (and how) do R & R to always use the same partition for each laptop while safeguarding it?

A few notes, to respond to your previous post:

    (1) Sysprep is used by administrators to deploy and image system to other machines. Basically, the system starts standalone RNR and save the image (drive C and the same HARD drive partitions) on the service partition.  Comment enumeration pleasure has to with additional partitions on the C drive HDD.  For sysprep to work, additional partitions must be of type Extended. The windows PE, is a windows "skimpy" PRE environment. For win7, the EP is based on Vista with a small set of win7 features added.  Thie PE is used for developers (as Lenovo) to install their systems.

    * None of this applies to a user at home like you and me *.

    (2) the logic used in the RNR for the GUI vs bent the advanced GUI are DIFFERENT.

Example: the user has part C, D and E on C disk HARD drive.  Uses advanced parms to set backup (local) to go to E drive.

If the backup through the advanced graphical interface, drive E is honored.

If the backup is performed through simple GUI, the partition with the largest free space is used.

Note: using the Second HARD drive don't offer NO choice to designate a partition target of \RRbackups.

    (3) view of backups.  It's clearly too.

When a backup is performed, and RNR is locked on him, it will REFRESH the registry entries for the content of backup.dats in the \rrbackups folder. Subsequent backups of view will probably be read from the registry. That is to say no record of reloading. Simpified mistletoe might once again, just to use the registry, the locks of GUI in the new backup folder.

    (4) your letter removal/restoration

a: I have no idea how autonomous RNR will react to the 3 folders on the second \rrbackup, IE the part 1, 2, 3.

    b. If rnr backups locked in the wrong \rrbackup folder, you will have a total mess. A symptom of this: you take a basic (full) backup, and the next backup, which should be an incremental, is actually another full backup.  This error could occur if you deleted the wrong letters.

    (5) you have a mess.

If I save it again this PC, R & R is a point instead of a differential backup<>

It would take a lot of work on you end to look in the backup files.  Not worth it.

Again, the simpifed GUI backup use different logic. He likes the larger partition.

From what you say, you used simplified and got the base of the machine backup 3 all go good part 1, 2, 3.

Somewhere in this mess, he locked in a \rrbackups without a base backup folder and took another backup.

    who knows.

    Release notes:

    Review 4
    ----------------
Location of backup changes when you select a smaller partition through the advanced interface of the Rescue and Recovery program.

In the advanced interface of the Rescue and Recovery program, you select a partition more small capacity on your local hard drive as the backup location. Then, you switch to the simplified interface to create the backup. However, the backup is created on the partition with the highest capacity.

To resolve this problem, back up your system in the advanced interface of the Rescue and Recovery program after you have selected the backup location.

    ===

The solution is the cleanest way to follow. I would always use the GUI advanced for now on.

  • Backup failed through rescue recovery after HARD drive upgrade

    Hello

I have a T60p 8743 CTO with Vista Business. I upgraded from 2 GB to 4 GB and 100 GB to 500 GB HARD drive.

The process that I did was to replace the old HDD with a new one. Recovery discs to load the vista on the new HARD drive. Then loaded the last backup of the old HARD drive. I assumed that I had all the features of the tools think vantage on the new HARD drive too.

Now, I was intending to load the Linux operating system. Then when I tried to create a backup using rescue and recovery, I couldn't get fact.

Could you please suggest me if there is a mistake in the procedure above. How to solve the current problem?

Could I make a partition and load Linux with problem? I need Linux to my goal of research.

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks in advance.
