FYO I changed the power supply because it broke down (THE problem of this NAS solution...) and I bought this power supply 80 +: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/191320447031?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT . • RND4000 - change the hard disks, will that erases data on older players

I took out the old records and set it asside.

Then put in some different readers. Different drives are from a NAS RNDX4000 and they initialize automatically.

    I wasn't expecting that.

Now, if I take on different disks and put the old disks in will I lose all the data?

I need to still get the data on the old disks. They worked very well.

I don't want them to be initalized.

The reason is that the RNDX4000 was struck by lightning. Really wanted to get information out of thoes readers. Now, I don't want to lose the information I had in RND4000 work.

OS 4.x ReadyNAS all begin with the formatting of disks when they are hot-inserted and in many cases even when they are not hot-inserted.

But if you turn off, insert the old disks in their original locations, and then powered on, then the system should simply repeat the operation without loss of data or reformatting.

  • ReadyNAS NV + RND4000 ability

    Hello

We rotated a ReadyNAS NV + RND4000 for several years now, with a single 3 TB drive. Running XRAID, we had 700 GB of storage space.

Recently, we needed for this title, so bought two several drives 3 TB and installed. However, our ability is blocked at 1.4TB - double the original 700 GB. As far we could tell when we bought the original SIN, it is compatible with 3 TB drives, but we feel that we would have a LOT more available space. For the first drive, we just assumed 700 GB was all that remained of disk 3 TB after firmware, XRAID, etc., but we were expecting a much bigger upgrade in quality with two drives of 3 TB extra installed.

I have read that sometimes one needs to reset to factory default, but this poses a bit of a problem, because we would need save backups of everything currently on the NAS.

Any help to understand what we could do wrong would be appreciated before that we need to use a reset.

    Thanks in advance,

    Natasha

You are running the latest firmware of production for your NV +.

The v2 uses a very different material. The operating system for the v2 does not work on the v1 and vice versa.

So you should get drives of 2 TB for your NV + v1 or get a new ReadyNAS (note the format RAID is different so the disks must be cleaned by the new NAS).

  • How the interface with my RND4000?

I'm a replacement IT here. I have almost no notes to work from, and I've never used a SIN.

How the interface with my RND4000? I tried to put the IP address in a web browser and you get "unable to connect".

I think the NAS is supposed to be "hosted" on one of my servers. How to determine what is the server?

    Hello Helpdesk-Kerry,

Then, it should be accessible. Perhaps, try another computer if after restarting it does not open yet?

    Kind regards

  • Cooked NV + (RND4000)

    Model: ReadyNAS NV + RDN4000 v3
Firmware: sticker says v4.1.7, maybe updated 3 years ago
Discs: 4 x Western Digital Cavair Green 2 TB
    Array: RAID-5

I got my NV + running for many years, but as a fool recently I let stuff build on the contribution of front. Long story short: it is cooked. The PSU smelled burning plastic and given the heat coming out I'm lucky that I didn't have a fire. It now will not power at all.

I am looking to buy a new enclosure to House my drives (I really hope they are good) but NV + of seem to be shortages of supply and cost more new units.

Is it safe to buy a new unit of Netgear and simply press my disks in there?
Is this what I need to be wary because before I turn on the new unit?

    Thanks for any advice,
    Skrrp.

Contact the technical support. They might be willing to sell you a power supply. Warranty is 5 years old, so it is possible, it could always be covered. If replace you it with a RN314 or better, they might also be able to provide assistance of data migration.

In addition, there was one act of service a few years ago, and if your serial number is located, they will provide a power supply, although there is no guarantee.

If you don't get a second hand unit, make sure that you get a NV + v1 and not a v2. Start with a working disk and install the current firmware (4.1.14). Then turn off and migrate your disks (keep in the same dwelling).

Another option is to get a new power supply. You can save money if it's temporary (keeping the power supply out of the chassis), but do not change the stock ATX PSU pinout

You cannot insert disks directly in a most recent NAS (v2, pro / ultra or OS 6).

  • ReadyNas NV + 1 hard disk Compatability

I have a NV RND4000 V1 1 + aka and I need to replace my disks 2. Most, if not all readers on the compatibility list are no longer available due to their age. I need 2G capacity. Are the Red of WD drives in the appropriate series? Other recommendations, please.

Diagnosis of the level 3 Support my 1 + NV Netgear has determined that two discs 1 and 2 have problems and need to be replaced. Driives 3 and 4 appear to be intact. They instructed me to clone the drive 1. Yes I have a backup.

I am aware of the limit of 2 TB.

Thanks for your comments and feel free to add more comments.

  • Legacy with defective power supply unit. Looking for replacement source

RND4000 (ReadyNAS NV + v1 [v3]) group legacy with a power failure. Looking for replacement source. Not after replacement free of charge since it is obviously out of warranty and end of product life. However, it is a little expensive Kit to replace. If I did, I would still want to use it as a backup of synchronization for the new.

I was unable to find any power supply corresponding by the name given to the unit (ST-220FUB-05F), all the results of my research resulted in a power different with smilar looks and namesake. Main differences are slight changes in the output rails, different output connectors. Also include a fan that mine didn't, perhaps a clue to the failure there.

I was shocked to find that he was / is none replaceable fuse in the power supply and if there was a gauge commonent that he was unable to do the job because a cracket big mosfet to clean his radiator, think that's what it is, hard to see in here. Unable to find a replacement, I'll have to try to replace the component that is visibly damaged. Not easy because it's crowded in there and may fail because there are perhaps other failing components that didn't explode or evacuate. I really need ot get this unit backup and running.

Help, please. Consider the purchase of an equivalent of second hand RND4000 for parts. See you soon.

    Hello EkDor,

This replacement of power supply was free until supplies last and I heard they already ran out of it.
