Since the upgrade to Windows 7, I had nothing else that problems of compatibility with almost all games a have for my PC.
None of the Sims 2 games work, and now I've discovered after spending nearly $30 on Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum it is also incompatible with Windows 7.
Before I bought it, I checked with Microsoft Compatibility and it claims that it would be compatible with my Windows 7 64 bit. Well this isn't.
    It installed fine but when I try to play it, it crashed before even loading to the main screen and I get a pop up saying;
"Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 has stopped working" then told me that it is looking for a solution to the problem that I have never.

I tried to run under each compatibility mode on my system, and it still does not work. Same thing happens even when I try and run as administrator. This is becoming very frustrating and I'm losing patience.

I read other messages from people in this regard and it seems that the question is never resolved. Never.

  • Rollercoaster tycoon 2 "failed to initialize graphics system' on Windows 8

    Hello

I recently bought a new computer that has Windows 8. I installed Rollercoaster tycoon 2 very well, but when I try to run the game I get a message saying "could not initialize graphics system." I looked at various websites and tried different ways to get the game to run, such as the running in compatibility mode (the game worked fine on Windows 7), reducing the 8 bit 256 colors and decreasing the resolution up to 640 x 480 game. Unfortunately, none of them have made a difference, and I still get the same message every time I try to run the game. Any help or advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

Well, I just had the same problem, but it was fixed for me when I ran it in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7. As it was not compatible for Windows 8, I just tried every version in turn.

If Windows 7 CM still does not work, I suggest to try Vista or XP as well.

I have also don't work in reduced color or resolution, then maybe it will also stop work?

    Hey,.

I'm paid to reinstall Windows Vista and all the drivers on a Toshiba Satellite A100 and it doesn't have a Vista disc, but I used guggle 1.6 to get the product key. That I reinstalled Vista Home Premium Grand with my copy of what I bought.

But now when I try to enter the product key, it says its already in service and I get an error message.

    What should I do?

    Hello!

The product key on the underside of the laptop is an OEM key and belongs to the preinstalled OEM version. This means that you can t use this key with a normal Vista installation disc that you can buy on the internet or in a store of the computer.

If you want to install Vista you should a disk recovery Toshiba or a disc of Microsoft with the corresponding product key.

You can order a Toshiba Toshiba recovery disc directly:

    Hey,.

    I m a bit confused now
What exactly happens on your laptop? You can start Windows?

I think the article MS says it all: to repair Windows you need a disc of Microsoft Vista.

Alternatives to reinstall the entire system use the Toshiba recovery disc that contains a picture of the factory settings. Have you created this disk?

  • Satellite L350 restarts on the Vista installation

Hey, my friend gave me his L350-145 (PSLD0E-00U00YGR) to reinstall Vista, because the system was full of Ad - and malware. He bought it on Ebay so there was no CD/DVD and booklet included and Partition Recovery is already deleted. I'm a veteran Windows so I reinstalled systems 100 times, but this one gives me the shiver.

I created a 32-bit Vista installation DVD, following a Step - by Step Guide without any problem and formatted the drive using "Partition Wizard". 80 GB primary NTFS 'SYSTEM' and 2 logical NTFS. I reboot the system with the Vista DVD in the drive and "Windows loading files...". "- the screen apears. Installation of Vista starts propper and I select the country and language. Insert-Windows-key-screen appears and I start to type in the key. The screen turns to black and colored stripes and the system hangs or suddenly reboots without any promt somewhere on the way. It does the same thing after a few moments, if I not touch anything after the "Windows loading files...". ' - screen.

I checked the BIOS settings, everything seems to be in order.
I took the DVD from the drive and waited for the "no boot device" - screen for a gel or a reset... nothing.
I started "Partition Wizard" and waited... nothing.
This only happens after you start the installation of Vista... sooner or later.

I'm at the end of my know how.

    Any idea?... pleeeaaase.

    welcome them
    Georg

    > The screen turns to black and colored stripes and the system hangs or suddenly it restarts > without any promt somewhere on the way. It does the same thing after a few moments, if I don't touch > anything after the "Windows loading files...". ' - screen.
For me, this looks like hardware problem. Something like GPU overheating or something like that.
Of course I can't say it for sure.
All you can do is make some small tests to see what happens and try to find out what could be the reason for this.
    > This only happens after you start the installation of Vista... sooner or later.
Windows-old fighter you can test with, for example from another version of Windows. Try to install Windows7.
If possible try to speak with your friend and get another HARD drive. You can try to swap the HDD and check if the same thing will happen again.

I installed different versions of Windows on different machines and I've never noticed anything like that. Some hardware, it must be related issue.

  • First Vista installation failed: what to do now?

I bought a Satellite L300-19F Notebook with preinstalled Vista Home Premium. Without the backup DVD, which Toshiba does not provide.

I started the computer, still had to make choices to complete the installation and then power went. If the Vista installation has failed. It says 'install again', but since I don't have any DVD, what can I do?

This is an OEM version. OEM is related to the motherboard. This means it is possible to borrow a Vista DVD of detail, install it from there and activate it with my OEM code?

I agree with sascha. To be honest is none other than the first option. Just try to start the HARD drive recovery process. I hope that the next time you're lucky and also able to install and start Vista.

  • When you try to play Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, receive message "no disc inserted".

Basically, I installed my Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 deluxe edition (edition of Mastertronic). My CD/DVD drive works fine I have tried other discs and they seem to work perfectly, so I'm confused. I also tried to uninstall disks, controllers, etc. Help, please!

    * original title - no disc inserted? Please help! *

    Hello

    1. check the disc.
    2. check the disk drive.
    3. make sure that the disc is clean.
    4. once ive tried to play the game when there was already another cd in the drive (check you have not done the same thing)
    5. ^ ^ ^ I was tired, it was early in the morning, do not laugh
    6. check there is no cracks or scratches on the disc
    7. try to wipe the hard drive.

The thread I linked below tells you what must be applied updates
    http://forums.frontier.co.UK/showthread.php?t=3

then your version of the game should be: 3.0.12.58, if this is the case, then you need to update I've linked below:

Note that these updates only work with the version of the game disc

    Hello

I have a laptop that was previously installed on the xp machine. The system crashed and I tried to reinstall Xp home edition. But when I did that, he threw an error that it could not detect my hard drive. myinitial was that the hard drive had crashed, but the BIOS test he returned no errors. I tried vista on the machine and found that it functioned perfectly well. I trid re - install xp on the computer from the vista desktop, but it would throw into the same error after the re-start of the system. "Could not find hard disk..." Please advice...

ATTENTION: You can not wake XP if you do not have a real XP install disc. If you try to use a recovery disc that simply does not work. I assumed you had an installation disk XP at retail with a unique product key. The only way you can use the product key on the laptop for an XP installation is if you have a generic OEM installation disc with the same version of XP that what was initially installed on the laptop. Subsequently, you will need to install all the drivers and the specific portable software for this model. You will get these from HP website.

Again, a much better solution in your case is to buy someone or HP recovery discs as RestoreDisks.com. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue with the hard drive in the bios but not appear in the windows vista installation.

  • Where can I get a Windows Vista installation disc?

My old Acer laptop crashed about a year & a half.  I bought a new laptop.  The other day I plugged it to see what would happen.  He came & the guest a insert the Windows Vista installation disc.  Where can I get this drive?  Windows Vista came pre-installed with the laptop, so I do not have a disk with him.  Acer does not know because the laptop is out of warranty.  They told me to take the laptop to a computer repair shop.  Well, I don't want to spend that much money to find out what was on the laptop when it crashed.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

As you never received a recovery disk when you bought your laptop Acer here is how to use the internal recovery Partition command which must be...

"How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows?

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

    To start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. etc.

And if you have problems with the help of the Partiiton of recovery and Acer supplies more recovery media for previous models preinstalled Vista, you may need to use this method:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    See you soon.

  • Do I need a Vista installation disk to use the Windows 7 upgrade option?

    Hi guys,.
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
I'm currently running Vista 64 bit and you want to upgrade to Windows 7.
I'm looking to upgrade and full version options.
I'm looking to do a clean install.
My question is, if I buy a version upgrade of Windows 7 need me a Vista installation disc to allow it?
My PC came pre loaded with Vista, so I don't have an installation disc.
    Thank you

    Emma

A copy of the full license of Windows 7 would be transferable to a computer without an operating system until it has been completely removed from the first.

I highly recommend that you buy a copy of the full license since you think you might buy a personal computer.

The upgrade copy would not be transferable to a new computer unless the new computer already had a copy of installed Windows on what qualifies for an upgrade to Windows 7.
