  Hello. I want to install Oracle 11 g RAC 2 with 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 which BONES are Oracle Linux 5.6)
  and according to the tutorial http://appsdbaworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/11gr2-rac-on-linux-56-using-vmware.html
  
  The virtual disk for each virtual computer is 20 GB which is/dev/sda raw device (the partition/dev/sda1 is the same size).
  
  In order to install the grid Infrastructure, I add 5 disks in the first machine virtual rac1 and 10 GB for each hard drive.
  Then create 5 ASM disks respectively as a disk group. Let me describe them as follows:
  
  OS Phyysical file: C:\VM_RAC\sharerac\asmdisk1.vmdk (asmdisk2.vmdk asmdisk3.vmdk asmdisk4.vmdk asmdisk5.vmdk)
  The corresponding raw device: / dev/sdb (SDC sdd sde sdf)
  Corresponding partition: / dev/sdb1 (sdc1 sdd1, sde1 sdf1)
  Corresponding ASM drive: ASMDISK1 (ASMDISK2 ASMDISK3 ASMDISK4 ASMDISK5)
  
  When I run the installation of grid step 5 of 8, I select all 5 ASMDISK as ASM disk group in the wizard.
  Clusterware files are supposed to be stored in the ASM disk group.
  
  2 virtual rac1 and rac2 machines must use the same ASM disk group.
  Here, I do not do anything about ASM disk group in the second rac2 VM.
  
  By operating step install grille 9/10, run the root.sh script in 2 VMS rac1 and rac2. The root.sh script runs successfully in the first VM rac1. But when the root.sh script is executed in the second VM rac2, the error message appears as follows:
  
  "... ...
  ORA-15018: disk group cannot be created.
  ORA-15031: disc "ORCL:ASMDISK5" specification is no disks.
  ORA-15031: disc "ORCL:ASMDISK4" specification is no disks.
  ORA-15031: disc "ORCL:ASMDISK3" specification is no disks.
  ORA-15031: disc "ORCL:ASMDISK2" specification is no disks.
  ORA-15031: disc "ORCL:ASMDISK1" specification is no disks.
  ASM configuration failed.
  Not properly configure and start the ASM.
  Failure of the initial cluster configuration.
  ... ..."
  
  The error message above, it seems to connect the second rac2 VM with the ASM disk group created in rac1 so that the 2 virtual machines use the same set of disks for ASM.
  
  But I don't see anything on the ASM disk group in the second VM rac2 in tutorial

  My question is:
  
  Include any folk how to fix ASM disks in the second rac2 VM when run the root.sh script in rac2 on step 9 of 10 in the Setup Wizard?

  Shared storage is the requirement of the CARS. Check if you have shared storage on all nodes.
  Run oracleasm listdisk on Node2 to see if he can see the same discs on node 1. Otherwise you follow this tutorial correctly

  With regard to the udev. It depends... you are using multipathing?
  The problem is that 10.2.0.1 has had some problems with Multipathing... If possible I want to use a newer version of the clusterware (even if you use a database of 10.2).

  -11.1 does not have the need to configure RAW devices, you can directly use block devices.
  -11.2 even didn't need that... simple use ASM. However, 11.2 introduces a lot of new features and 11.1 clusterware is almost a bugfix to 10.2.

  Yes: Please use the partitions if possible. 11.1 and 11.2 didn't need more, but it is always recommended.

  I have a problem using openscript and please I would like to know if there is a work around.
  
  Here's what I do:

  1 / I record many different scripts for an application: a script = a feature
  
  2 / then I create a script and I run all these previous script.
  
  
  The problem is:
  
  I get an error 'Timeout occurred waiting for the page to load.' which is a normal mistake (the link is broken, the page is missing, etc.).
  
  I can't get back, and stops the main script. Although I also want other scripts to be read.
  
  
  I tried to put the ERR_RESPONSE_TIME_ERROR Warn option (instead of failure). But no way! It breaks down!

• A scheduled script does not run correctly

  I have a .vbs script that I want to run every day. The script must be running a 3rd party application that will back up a SQL Server Express database to a flat file of data archiving and restore if necessary. If I click on the script, that it works perfectly, but if I set the script part it works; the part where it creates the backup directory, but I can't get the actual backup to occur.

  I went back to the software company. They said that if the script works by double click, it must be a windows problem.

  I use this on SBS 2008 SP2, which is X 64. I have SQL Server Express 2005 and 2008 on the server. What troubleshooting can I do. I'm a little weak on vbs programming so I have nothing pre programmed to write in Event Viewer. I also had a colleague change the script runs in PowerShell, but I encounter the same problem there.

  In the current context, there is a policy where the files in the % system32% are allowed to be owned by system administrators and. A question arose where after that conversion of these permissions cmd.exe is unable to run. The addition of the user who is currently logged solves this, adding a Group myGroup however with the content user fails.  Also I can give the user (who is an administrator) ownership of cmd.exe and it always fails to run. The command prompt tells me that I don't have permissions that seems odd. Did I miss an edition of registry or is there something else I should be looking for here?

  I have a problem with running scripts assigned to Quest Console (7.6). In resources/Scripts, I have 2 scripts (a VBS and other CMD). The scripts are located on a UNC resource that is accessible by all users. Script executed manually works perfectly. But not automatically runs in desktop computers running with Windows 7 SP1 VDI.

  I saw a similar problem before, in my case the script run perfectly when I run manually but not happen the result when running via a GPO.

  I did some research and learned that it could be caused by settings on the system UAC, you test the policy. With active UAC will be running all scripts that are run from a policy, but in a different security context of the user. When this OPTION is enabled, logon session/logoff scripts are executed by an administrative user, the office can load it later as the user.

  A suggestion to solve the problem was first to apply this registry setting:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem\\\

  EnableLinkedConnections = (dword) 1

  Scripts Google UAC and logon and you will find more information and proposed solutions.

• VCB snapshot creation failed: Pre custom gel script failed - how to fix?

  On a VM I started getting this error of VCB:

  Error: Another error occurred: failed to create snapshot: gel prior custom script failed.

  I found several other discussions about this, with resolutions of filesystem suspend disabling and reinstalling the VMware Tools.

  The guest is a CentOS 5 VM. He has lots of free space. The LUN has enough free space. I tried to reinstall the VMware tools. I tried to create the script pre-anti-freeze, chmodding to 755, even tried to add a simple script ' exit 0' in so that he actually returned correct status of output. "

  Snapshots fine VM in Virtual Center. I can't turn off the setting to suspend as it is set automatically by Backup Exec and I don't see an option to turn it off. Adding to the config.js appears to have ignored.

  The full command that I use for testing that is generating the error is:

  I am very new to LiveCycle Designer, and I get the error message: "Script failed (the language is formcalc;» context is xfa... The error error: syntax near token ' (' on row 3, column 0.)

  I just add some numeric fields. The calculation works fine, but I want to get rid of this, any error message?

  With FormCalc, you don't need .rawValue.

  Also that the script is in the object you want to set the value, you can use $ instead of the name of the object.

  Try:

  $ = NumericField1 + NumericField2
  

  Make sure you have not a mistake, as I suspect that this could be the problem.

  I have a simple document with a few tables/rows. Each line has a value simple condition (if something is checked there is a numeric value), it works fine. What I try to do is just the total value of all the rows in each table, and that the bombs (errors) with "Script Failed (language is formcalc;» context is..) then identifies all the field names as 'unknown '. I'm tempted to test a little differently and I still get this error, in fact I can't get this form to just add to the simple numbers without a similar error.

  Novel I don't know it's me - has been less-than-smart, I didn't belive there is an error with the LCD itself.

  Any direction would be most appreciated. Thank you very much!

  Two things:

  1. the sum command has capital S Sum() not sum() is

  (2. There is no space between the sum and the)

  3. When you reference other fields, they are in a different subform that the total amount, so you have to way to the fields. The best way to do this is in the Script Editor, the place the cursor where you want the reference to appear, then hold ctrl and move the cursor over the desired field. The cursor turns into a version V. the mouse when you're on the ground and the correct reference will be written in the script editor.

  4. you can not split the order through two lines... .in all on a single line.
