Rosetta Stone WinXP Service Pack 2 compatibility programs

This program can be used in Windows 7?  And if so how to modify to install?

Hello

You can try this. Go to the installation in question file, right-click on it and select Properties. When this window opens, go to the top of the tabs row until you get to the marked compatibility. Check the box that says run this program in Compatibility Mode, and in the drop-down menu that appears select XP, Service Pack 2. Check other options that you want, including to run as an administrator, then click on apply, then OK to exit. Depending on who else has access to your computer, you can repeat the procedure for all other users as well.

Now run the installer as usual, and if all goes well it will install as it did under XP, Service Pack 2! Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

Kind regards

BearPup

  • Error installing Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 Setup program has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software

I need to install Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, as it is necessary to perform a Dell diagnostic Test, but I've been advised that: Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. Requirement: Windows install 3.1.

However, when I look at the download page of Windows Installer 3.1 is not actually as for XP with SP3. I tried anyway and: Setup has determined that the version of Service Pack for this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update. Well actually it is there...

Is there a way to get around this?

There is a lot of confusion and mislead of information available on the Internet on "end of support" for Windows XP and Microsoft doesn't make things easier.  As nearly as I can determine, Microsoft will continue to provide updates of security (via Windows/Microsoft Update) until April 2014.  See, for example, http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/xp-in-2020-not-even-close-read-the-fine-print/2270?tag=mantle_skin;content

The foregoing is completely irrelevant to your problem to install an Epson NX415 on Win XP sp 3.

Whenever 1 it reseller says, 'the problem with my product is computer dealer of 2 problem', the consumer is one who has the real problem.  If you are going to rely if Epson fails to support his product and ask for help here, it would be helpful if you explain exactly what Epson claimed was the problem with Windows XP. Or do you have Epson technology not simply say: 'we cannot understand it. It must be a Windows problem. »

Can you describe the "great difficulty", that you had to install the Epson software?

In general, the best way to deal with printer problems is to completely uninstall the printer and all related software and then start again.  I can understand that you may be somewhat reluctant to do so given the time and you have already apparently devoted an effort, but that is my suggestion.

The driver and software package for your printer for Windows XP 32-bit is available from Epson here:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=128287&prodoid=63083741&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows (it seems in fact that if the same package is for XP, Vista and Win 7, then you already on your computer in Windows 7).

Download the package and follow the instructions here to clean your old s/w before installing the new:http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article_One.htm

You can also use this: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

If I were you, I disconnect the computer from the Internet and turn off your antivirus application completely and all other anti-malware applications before starting the installation of the printer software.

You might even go so far to start msconfig (start > run > msconfig > OK), perform the following steps:

    • Click on "Select Startup" and uncheck "Load Startup items".
    • Go to the Services tab, click the box for "Hide all Microsoft services", and then click "disable all".
    • Click OK
    • Restart the computer before proceeding with the installation of the printer software.

  • Please, help me to install the a security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954459)

I am running Windows XP Professional SP2 (32 bit).  My Windows Update is configured to inform me of updates that are available and to wonder what to do each time.

For the last two months I have problems with these two updates:

    1. Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 (KB973686)
    2. a security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954459)

Two of them are available for me to download and install every time I connect to the Internet. I always choose download and then install. The first update is always installed successfully, but continues to offered to me AGAIN and AGAIN. I have reviewed my story to update on the Microsoft Update site, where I can see that this update has been installed successfully for more than 10 times. But the continuous automatic updates offering him.

Problem with the second update (a security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954459)) is worse still - IT STILL FAILS.  During the installation process, I get no error message, but in the end, I always get:
«Updates could not be installed...» The following updates were not installed:
A security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954459)
    ".»
Of course, in my history of editing, he still has the red icon, and the error Code is 0 x 643.

I tried to install it manually, so I downloaded the Service Pack msxml6-KB954459-enu - x 86 .exe (981 KB) from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=59914795-60c7-4ebe-828d-f28cb457e6e3&displaylang=en
But when I ran it, I got this message:
"Installation of MSXML 6 Service Pack 2 (KB954459) failed because a newer version already exists on the machine. "To continue, uninstall the higher version and re-run the installation of MSXML 6 Service Pack 2 (KB954459) program."

I don't understand.  I thought this msxml6-KB954459-enu - x 86 .exe installation file for the update of safety only, but it has proved to be the Setup for the entire application.  And that means this "version more?  How did get on my computer?  And what do I need to uninstall?  In my Add/Remove Programs list that I don't have that:
    -MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430)
    -MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB973688)
    -MSXML 6 Service Pack 2 (KB973686)

In my System32 folder, I have a file called msxml6.dll (created: 19 08.2009).  On the Properties dialog Version tab, I see that its version is 6.20.1076.0;  If that matters.

    My security programs are:
    -BitDefender Total Security 2010
    -Malwarebytes AntiMalware
    -Online Armor ++ Firewall
(They are all up to date and none of them has ever interfered with the installation of any update of Windows or Microsoft).

    Can someone tell me please:
    1. What can I do to make the installation of this update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 security
    (KB954459) succeed?
    2. what to do with an another update (update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 (KB973686)) which
constantly is available once again, although my editing history shows that it is installed successfully?

    And another question:

These two updates prevent the automatic updates to offer upgrade to SP3 of XP?  I am currently on SP2, but I really need to upgrade to SP3; not only because support for SP2 has stopped, but more because there are more programs that require SP3 must be installed.  A month ago, automatic updates offered the update to SP3, but the installation failed for an unknown reason ("... the system could not find the specified file.").  I'm wrong if I think it will be offered me again only after I install these two updates correctly?

First of all, you have 2 firewalls; ® Of BitDefender Total Security 2011 (block intruder (implement a two-way firewall)) and Online Armor

  • No XP (service pack 3) or run as Administrator program compatibility options.

Another issue is before you install a program that I downloaded, I right click it and go to properties > compatibility and under run this program in compatibility mode for: there is no option for Windows XP service pack 3 or run as Administrator option. It lists only older versions of Windows and Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5). I doubled checked that my OS is XP (service pack 3) and my account has administrator privileges, so it's really confusing me! Any clarification would be much appreciated!

    -Eva :)

Have you tried just downloading, just empty without trying to run it in compatibility mode? I don't think you'll find an xp in the drop-down list entry simply because you run a xp machine and there is no place to enter xp when you try to run a compatible software xp on a xp machine.

    Hello

I have multiple copies of Windows 7 Pro x 64.  Click with the right button on a program and select 'Properties' and then click on the Compatibility tab, most of them under "run this program in compatibility mode for" a ton of options going all the way back to windows 98.   Several have only options for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista.  I need "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" as an option on all computers.  I don't see where you install.  My research are presented only how to install a Windows XP virtual machine, I must separate environment, I need this option so that the program works on computers (it can change the routing table, and makes to the virtual machine is not useful).

What must be installed to the "Windows XP (Service Pack 3) option appear?

    Thank you

If the program in question can be run in compatibility for a specific version of the operating system, then the option will appear in the drop-down list.

Not all programs can be run in compatibility for all versions.
