• Isolating and expanding the part of an image

  I have CS4 and that you want to isolate a small part of an image and expand then superimposed on the original image with a border and an arrow pointing to the original location.

  I've set up a quick tutorial showing how to get the result that tman posted. If I CS6, the process should be about the same.

  Isolate / expansion of a portion of an image:

  (1) here is my original image:

  

  (2) use the Rectangle or the elliptical selection tool to draw a rectangle around the area you want to isolate and enlarge.

  

  3) press Control C to copy the selected area of the image and the Command V to paste. The section will be duplicated on a new layer, but it won't be easy because it sticks exactly in place.

  

  4) press the V key to select the move tool and reposition the isolated part where you want.

  

  (5) hit Command T to switch to Change Mode. Hold down the SHIFT key and drag one of the corners of the box to scale the image proportionally. Pressing enter will be out of the way of transformation and leave the image in place.

  

  Adding a line to an object:

  (1) decisions that you have the correct layer selected (the one that contains the isolated image), click the icon below marked effects to open a launcher. Choose the race.

  

  

  (2) in the dialog box change options as desired, and then click OK.

  

  

  Create an arrow:

  (1) select the line tool, which can be hidden under the Rectangle tool.

  

  (2) at the top of the Photoshop window, there will be options to apply to the line that you draw. Choose a background and outline, and then click the gear icon to open the option of arrowheads . Select end and set your desired weight.

  

  (3) draw an arrow by clicking and dragging.

  

  Note: where the CS4 interface seems very different for the arrow options, try using the directions in this link.

• Select the parts of a clip in a project in iMovie?

  I used to be able to do this, very easy, but when I opened my iMovie last night I wasn't able to select parts.  Now, it seems to select the clip and I don't want to do that.

  Is there something I need to change in my preferences - or changed iMovie and select only the parts of a clip is no longer an option?

  You're supposed to now hold the "R" key while selecting a part of a clip.

  I'm working on my photography website. Its already online. But I need to make some corrections. I exported a gallery lightroom to 1000px simpleview. Now how can I contract and expand the area of content/mainbox according to the resolution of the screen? If I set the height to 100% firefox does not have this value, then it works fine on safari and chrome. so I need assign value in px terms and it works very well. But then it is not contract when opened on a small resolution of 1024 x 768. Can anyone help please?

  You would have to change the Flash things in Flash, not HTML code.  And you don't know all the reasons why you might not want to engage their entire 'portfolio' to something that is not visible on iPlatforms, or with appliances and accessories functional screen, right?

• Rotate and move the 16-bit Image

  I would like to rotate and move a 16-bit RGB (U64 in LabVIEW) image.  The IMAQ turn and shift functions do not accept this type of image, but they do not accept an image in 16-bit grayscale (I16 in LabVIEW).  Unfortunately, this clips all values in my original image since it extends from-32, 767 to + 32 767.  The ExtractColorPlanes function requires a 16-bit image to be wired as the destination image but the IMAQ create VI does not U16 to create image.

  Any ideas?

  Just to be proactive... Here is an example of the problem.  I tried to download a (small) 16-bit tif, but is not a valid extension to download.  Photoshop allows me to record a 16-bit RAW, TIF or PSD: none of which can be downloaded.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

• Deploy and run the part of the project in real time RT

  I am developing a project, LabVIEW-RT, with a User Interface on the PC and evanescent code that runs on a PXI system.  I read a few posts discussing the possibility (or lack thereof) to start the RT of the project by program part.  Here's what I mean: my project has a first level VI on the host PC, call 'Host UI.vi', and a first level VI on the RT target, call it "target RT.vi".  There is the usual assortment of other features of the RT, such as flow, LAN and network Variables shared, etc.

  During development, I open the project, find the code RT target, select the target RT.vi and click Run.  I can do the same with the host UI.vi.  My code works (or not, depending on whether I have introduced new bugs).

  What I would like do is to run the host user interface and run the code to mimic an RT target selection in my project and perform a right-click.  I partly managed, but a small step escapes me.

  Can I programmatically deploy my RT code and make it pop a window front so I can click on the Start button.  I even managed to start running programmatically using VI server.  However, when I start it programmatically (rather than clicking Run), my shared network Variables are not available.

  I studied it a bit by using Distributed System Manager.  With her, I can 'see' my shared Variables of network on the target of the RT, but its status is offline.  I put online by clicking on the button 'Start process' in DSM, however, when I then try programmatically start my vi target RT using VI Server, Shared Ntwork variables goes Offline (accordint DSM).

  Question - is there a way to do a program equivalent to locate my network shared Variable in DSM and clicking on start processes?

  [I had a great idea while writing this post.]  I have noticed that if I deployed my VI and also expanded my network shared Variable, DSM has shown to be online, but the target RT start VI VI Server, the NSV went offline.  What happens if I have deployed it after from the remote?  Good idea, too bad that it didn't work...].

  Well, I just did!  I wrote a demo project RT with the following characteristics: RT side consists of a single VI that affect False in a Boolean Variable (NSV) shared network, goes in a while loop until there is true, goes into an another wait loop to make it False, then ends.  The NSV is hosted in a library on the remote target.

  The host does the following:

  1. Determine the IP address of the target of the project.
  2. The first name of the VI RT to run, to return a reference to it.
  3. Use the reference to deploy the RT VI on the remote target.
  4. Use the IP address and the name of the RT VI for a VI Server reference.
  5. Use the reference to start the code that runs on the target of RT.
  6. Go in a loop looking at the NSV and wait for the status of the error not be 8BBB0006 (uninitialized NSV).
  7. With the value returned by the NSV (must be set to False, defined by the code of RT), deny it, set it and wait that it will change.
  8. Do this one more time to return the NSV to its original value (as defined by the code of RT).

  Before running the code, right-click on the target of RT in the project and turn on "disable AutoDeploy Variables.  J of Zach, an Applications Engineer of NOR, suggested that this step, which can be the key step in the resolution of this dilemma.

  To test this, I restarted my PC and the aim of RT.  Once both had restarted, I opened the project on the PC, and without interaction with the section the project somehow RT (including not not clicking 'Connect'), I ran the host code.  He started the remote code and was told that the round trip time for set and reset my NSV was about 29 msec.

  I intend to make a full text of this and submit the entire project, with documentation and all the screws under utility, I used, to community page OR.  I'll try to get this done this weekend...

  You can disable cookies by using the node property and ownership "Disabled". You can create a tab control and disable the entire tab control that will disable all inside of it.

  To do this programmatically, set up your code with a structure of the event and create an event when the user changes the value of a button or click the mouse.

• Delete a partition in a virtual machine and expand the initial allocation of hard drive

  I have created a virtual machine running server 2012R2 with an allowance of 60 GB drive. I decided after doing hours of work on the virtual machine I had assigned too little disk space for the virtual machine. I decided that I just go in vSphere and change settings and add to the existing space. The problem is that it has created a new partition rather by increasing the size of the original, which doesn't help me. How can I remove this new partition and just expand the original that has been allocated when I created this virtual machine?

  Could you clarify what you mean by;

  (A) do you mean you modified the virtual machine and added a second disc, rather than increase the size of the original? or;

  (B) you increase the size of the original disk and create a new partition in this free space?

  Be that as it may, the question should be simple to solve;

  (A) remove the second disk you don't need, increase the size of the original. Then from the OS Disk Manager, rescan the disks and extend C:\ in free space.

  (B) delete the partition that you don't need. From the OS Disk Manager, expand C:\ in free space.

  I use a tesing server and have all my links in the pop-up menus that are linked. I'm about to go live and you want to substitute the name of the test server with the new true site name. Subdirectory names, and the page will be the same, just the domain part evolves. Is it possible to find and replace it in the world, or do I have to go into my png and redo every single link?

  The rotation of the screen may depend on the application you are using, some applications only performed in specific, portrait orientation or landscape. Example: some games work in the landscape and the hub can automatically rotate between portrait and landscape.

  Regarding the amount of rings before answering machine, it is a service provider controlled setting, I suggest you contact your service provider for more information.

• How to rotate and turn the bar without distortion graphs?

  I have a horizontal bar graph and I want it to have the same form as a pie chart that I as a backdrop.

  What I do everything first, it is to rotate the graph (after the converted in an image) at the right angle, depending on where it should be positioned. After that, I use the-> deformation-> Arc to make it fit in the same form as the pie chart. But when I do these processes (in any order) I get a distorted image, with lines describing not concentric lines (not like Ray, I mean).

  I got the perfect shape, works on a MAC, but now I'm working on PC. How can I achieve the same?

  Problem is that you turn. You could apply the distortion to the horizontal chart, then make a symbol and then turn. Or: create a brush and apply to a curve.

• Melted how audio and keep the audio level in clips later

  I have piloted PE 10.  When I add keyframes manually to fade audio output, or simply select the option ' fade out ' to fade at the end of an audio clip, the audio ends at the end of the clip and the audio of the following clips is to initial level.  This creates a large discontinuity to the noise level.

  What happens if I want to the next clip or clips to continue in the same faded audio level, rather than start at their original level.

  In Pinnacle Studio, for example, when you fade down audio, all audio to the right will be adjusted to match the level after the fade, as long as there are no keyframes forward of this final key-frame fade.  Now that I'm getting 10 EP, I'm bored of this behavior.

  In PE10, there is a sequence of keys which allow this behavior?

  If you have only one or a few Clips, where you want to reduce the Volume, I do so at the level of the Clip and simply adjust the fixed effect (appears automatically on all the audio Clips), and add keyframes to adjust the Volume.

  I find it easier since the effect controls panel, accessible by selecting the Clip you want to adjust, and then in the effects tab, choose Edit effects.

  Lets say you have a Clip, where the majority of the Volume is just, but there is a section where you want to turn it down. Go to where you want the Volume to start to get lower, add a keyframe (toggle ON keyframes), then go to where you want the Volume restore the main value and add another keyframe. At this point, nothing has changed, but you added two key frames, which "held" the Volume at the current level. Now, go where you want the Volume to its lowest, to the right of the first keyframe that we added. Add another. Adjust the level to this keyframe (now the second in the Clip) to what you want. Go where you want the Volume first on the rise, just before the second keyframe that you added (now third), and add another keyframe. Adjust so that it matches the Volume you settled in what is now the second keyframe. You will have four key frames: the first, one that keeps the Volume at the beginning of the Clip, the second, which allows to adjust the Volume to its setting, the third, which corresponds to the Volume of the second, then the fourth, keeping the Volume at the level of the initial until the end of the Clip. It will look like this:

  

  Some like to do the with the "rubberbands" Keyframing in the Clip itself, but I like the effect controls panel.

  In addition, keyframes that we added, are linear and if you want to adjust the Interpolation, the smoother changes just Rt-click on each keyframe, to adjust the Interpolation. Interpolation is a little abstract, so I suggest to read the help files on Bezier curves on keyframes.
