Rotation / orientation/tilt of the PlayBook WebWorks API?

Where can I find the API WebWorks for rotation / orientation/tilt? In other words, how can I detect programmatically the rotation of my Playbook on the three axes? Applications such as "What's up?" clearly use such an API. Thank you.

So you're looking for the DeviceMotion API for motion capture (x, y, z).

Here's a demo:

Otherwise, if you are looking for portrait/landscape orientation, you can use the window.onorientationchange event:

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to package an extension API with an application. The default extensions are located in the bbwp/ext folder. I have a custom extension that I include in my application. I was able to compile the application with my custom extension copied to this location mentioned. My question is should I add the extension custom in my application package? If so how that happen. All to follow folder structure? Please help me.

Well it would not be considered "tampering" with the SDK package

It is in fact our approach for each of these directories with... There is no way to incorporate your extension as a resource in your file to archive WebWorks.

  • Audio player of PlayBook webworks.

I'm playing the audio data from the system of local files and internet audio stream.

I tried blackberry.audio.Player method explained in the documentation of the api webworks. I guess the playbook does not have this object installed, because as far as I can see, I'm an exception due to the access to the object not initialized.

Secondly, I tried jplayer, which uses the music player if html5 html5 extensions are available, and falls to adobe flash player if html5 is not successful. It has always failed...

Third, I tried the pure html5 player. I can see the commands, the audio length is displayed with '-' value? (I did not understand why?) but no sound.

I tried the method of second and third in google chrome, it works. Do you have an idea what could be wrong? What is the recommended method for the audio playin?

    Hello

There was some discussion around this topic on the forums.  The blackberry.audio API is only on the smartphone platform... The PlayBook WebWorks APIs can be found here:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/developers/docs/WebWorks/API/PlayBook/

Audio not playing is not in the Simulator is a known problem.  The 0.9.4 Simulator comes not with any codecs to be able to play the video or audio.  This will be corrected in the final RTM version of the Simulator.

I'm developing an application for the Playbook webworks. I try to open the camera to take a picture. I know it's possible because there is a function takepicture in the api webworks and is available for the Playbook.

My problem is that nothing happens when the function takepicture should open the camera. I get no error message, just nothing. I don't know how I can trace my application is running. Any idea?

  • PlayBook Simulator included in the SDK WebWorks for Mac does not start

Hi, I downloaded and installed the WebWorks BlackBerry SDK for Tablet OS for Mac from http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/webworks.jsp . I have VMWare Fusion installed 3.1.2. I used the beta3 .iso Installer to create a virtual machine, and it worked very well. Open the bbwp/blackberry-tablet-sdk/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator-1.0.1/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator.vmx file load VMWare Fusion and adds a virtual machine named "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator" in my VM library. When I try to 'turned on' virtual machine, nothing happens. The power seems to be on for two seconds and turns off the virtual machine. I can't find all the lines from log in Console.app. the 'Virtual Machine'-> 'Force Start Up' menu is no help either. I download the stand-alone "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator for Mac", that is also marked v1.0.1 but I am not optimistic if it is delivered as a set of folders VMware. Please do not make me run the PlayBook Simulator in a virtual Windows XP machine!

    Hi jaschroe,

Try to manually copy the folder BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator - 1.0.1 to another location on your Mac and then try to open this copy of the VMX file in VMware Fusion. (No need to re - install).

  • WebWorks BBUI viewport moves on the PlayBook, works fine on the ripple

I develop an application for the PlayBook using BBUI, the application is practically finished and works as I want.

The issue I'm having is that when I create the application and load it on the PlayBook (orientation is portrait located in the config.xml file) I can drag the window to the right. I have tried to set the width to 600px and overflow to hidden and he always moves. When I test the app using ripple, it does not move.

I've updated BBUI to the latest version (0.9.6) to see if it is the question, but it has not changed anything. What Miss me?

    Thank you

You can try for the tag body-position: fixed (and set the width and height).

  • WebWorks app broken after update of the PlayBook 1.0.5

I just installed 1.0.5 last of the PlayBook updated software and my WebWorks app has stopped working. The app was transferred to unit using the mode of development and worked fine before the update. At the launch of the app, the app would freeze in a black screen.

I've tried tinkering with config.xml and rebuilt the application several times. The problem would not go away. I even tried to create a minimal WebWorks with a Hello app world index.html, and this minimum app does not work either.

Any contributions to this issue would be much appreciated!

      Hi

    Hello world!

    Hi Brad,

Yes, there's an incompatibilities for applications built with the beta version of the SDK WebWorks on indicated such 1.0.5 in the sticky at the top of the forum post

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Web-and-WebWorks-development/important-PlayBook-WebWorks-noti...

Our developer relations team also sent emails to registered suppliers of App World, which had applications built WebWorks with the updated beta version level.

  • [Playbook WebWorks] Behavior of the entry element

Do not know if Miss me just something, but...

I am building a little app for HTML/JS/CSS to be compiled by WebWorks in a Playbook application and tested in the Playbook Simulator (v0.9.2).  Essentially, everything looks good, and I love it.

A very strange situation appeared, however, when I use HTML5elements as a way to select a value.  They make it very well and seem to even work very well themselves.  However, selection/move slider control of range - element in the Playbook Simulator somehow makes all the rest of the page (buttons, etc.) unclickable.  Specifically, buttons subsequently always visually normally respond to clicks, but all scripts attached to their click events (who have done very well before the range element has been addressed) are not executed.

A double-tap anywhere on the screen of the page / seems to cancel this strange state, and clicks on the new buttons fire their click event handlers.

This problem does not occur in browsers based on webkit running Windows (for example, Chrome or Safari), just to the WebWorks-setting day running app in the Simulator Playbook.

Where I am is not clear, I have also attached a sample basic HTML test attempts to illustrate the issue.

Is it me?  I'm just missing something stupid?  Or...?

    Thank you.

Thanks for finding this and bring it to our attention.  I think you've discovered a flaw of web rendering engine.  I can confirm that the keyboard does not automatically appear during application development at the entrance to the fields, after interaction with a field in the range.  You can always manually open the keyboard by sliding the left low bevel angle towards the center of the screen.

I could see an example of code to get the phone number of javascript which is not supported for BB10.  The code below does not work for BB10? If so, what is one alternative to the native extension.

    Hi beats,

It is currently not possible. The only way you could get the phone number in this moment is to create a native extension that accesses the 'phone' / 'Line' API here http://developer.blackberry.com/native/reference/cascades/bb__system__phone__line.html?f=line#functi...

  • I'm pulling my hair out and I'm about to give up the development of the playbook...

I just took the playbook to best buy to finally test my application. Well, I can't understand how to do this correctly. Flash builder doesn't have a section of CHIPS in the preferences > tablet os > singing.

I am an iOS developer and all this * beep * is taken in charge for me, I like this cause it gives more time to development instead of tryng to know how to operate the * beep * app...

Sorry for bashing but I'm about to return the playbook and give up the development of this platform.

could someone help to install my application to a whole new playbook device

For the orientation and rotation lock simply launch - app.xml and change the autoroate to false and landscape orientation
