I get the following error message when you try to use rsync after update to OS X 10.11:

I get a similar error when I use the version of rsync installed using fink:

I can't find anything about it on the web.  Fink seems to be able to use rsync successful, so I'm stumped.

This problem has been solved, but due to a problem with the server at the other end.  Very difficult to the error messages though!  I tried another server and it worked fine.

  • I can't remove it vmware-docker?

    I restored a backup of Fusion running Windows XP.  Since I have a problem when I go to clone my hard drive to backup using Carbon Copy Cloner.   I always run a mistake when I get to vmware-docker who can not seem to clone.  I checked the hard drive for errors and the permission issues with no problems found associated with this file.  Is it possible to delete this file?  Merger will create a new or a new one is created if I re-install the VMWare tools?

    Short answer: Fusion will recreate the directory of Machines.localized/Windows XP Home Edition.vmwarevm/Applications together/users/seanlehman/Documents/Virtual as needed, so you don't need to copy anything into it.

    Longer answer: disk i/o error may indicate a damaged drive. Another thing to try to do is to copy the specified file (as always, when the virtual machine is turned off and merging does not work) in the Finder - in case of failure, you have a problem.

  • Replication fails with the-501 error

    Hi all

    My replica jobs suddenly all fail with error - 501 (I can't find any info one that means), but that's what shows the log to replicate:

    P2P connection to the nas-xy-xy (distance RN102)

    X cannot connect to the nas-34-xx-yy (local RN104)

    X the connection - 501 error code

    X please verify the network connection between the devices

    This worked very well for months since the last update 6.5.1 I'm not aware of any changes that I made in each of the configurations.

    Both RN do not appear in ReadyCloud, Replicate sees the two RN in the network tab but when starting a job to replicate my local RN on the RN remote I get the above fault message.

    I am very reluctant to upgrade to 6.5.2 that it worked very well on 6.5.1 for so long and I did not really pleasant experiences for the latest updates...

    Someone at - it similar experiences (I'm inclined to think that the issue is on the server to replicate as it happened before that jobs has failed for a period, but succeeded after a few days without any changes on my side.

    Any suggestion that means this error - 501 (and how to fix it)?

    And if all fails, I'm getting a little tired of the repeated questions, someone at - it an installation of certificates SSH on the RN to activate RSYNC over SSH?

    Any comment is very appreciated!

    Yes, just tried it and got that job, turns out that apart from the source and target parameters that needs to be identical to the old job, also the name of the work is essential, it must be exactly the same as the lost job. (on the target files side are stored in a folder named after the name of the task, found that rather confused, but either way, once you are aware of it...)

    Don't have that and I got my old RESUME jobs where they left, it looks like I'm back in business.

  • Rsync backup does not delete files on the target

    I have a disc on a Windows Server 2012 machine running DeltaCopy.

    I have a RN312 on OS 6.4.2 with a configured rsync backup to save the action (which is the root of the drive) to the local NAS.

    I then go into the settings - Advanced - tab and tick the "remove files deleted on the target."

    I also add ' / $RECYCLE. BIN' and ' / System Volume Information "as being excluded.

    The first is fine - there are a few errors but they are due to the System Volume Information I think that - even if its exclusion.

    But if I can delete a file on the source (the server) and run it again the file are not deleted on the target (SIN).

    Any suggestions?

    What version of Rsync using DeltaCopy? Have you tried to copy a new version of Rsync and other utilties of cygwin for example in DeltaCopy directory?

  • Linux hosts: files of length zero created by rsync

    I'm under Workstation 7.1.4 build-385536 on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine with a guest of Kubuntu Lucid.  In fact, I'm running on several machines, and I keep synced with rsync via an external USB drive.  I have used to use unison, but stopped as he tried to go bad the problem below.

    Each rsyncs little and without any apparent reason, when I rsync on the USB (ext4 partition) copying the disk drive ends with a length zero and the date and time.  When rsyncing from the USB drive to another machine, the version here (even if it has the same date and time, and the duration of non-zero) gets damaged by the version of length zero the disk.   There is no error message.   rsyncing back to the original from the USB disk machine terminates the process and the file in question is toast.

    Sometimes, one or two files, sometimes it is hundreds, who have missed this way.  I had this experience with three machines and two disks USB, initially using Unison, but even with rsync native.

    I find that check for files of length zero on the machines and the USB drive, but it is still a very dangerous behavior, and (I embarrassed to say) I was not able to find even a question about similar behaviour online.

    Please let me double check: you move your external USB drive between the virtual machines (presumably on different hosts), and in any case Connect USB drive through the virtual machine and then run rsync in the Kubuntu prompt to synchronize files between the file system of the client and the external USB drive.  Is this correct?

    What is the exact workflow that you follow, from the moment an rsync of the VM disk ends, by until you start another rsync from the disc in another virtual machine?  Is that what you are safely dismounting the volume in the comments before you disconnect it?  Suspend you virtual machines, turning them off or leave them running?

    You have 3rd - party software on the Windows host that might try to mount and access the volume of ext4 at some point in time when it is not connected to a virtual computer?

    The problem you describe would be what I expected what would happen if you stopped the source VM without first dismantling the system of files on the USB drive, then left this USB key on the destination computer.  If that were the case, you will probably see angry messages in the logs on the destination computer (in var/log/kernel.log, logs and so forth, at the time where the volume is mounted on this machine) telling you that he is recovering from the file system journal or on an unclean file system and these messages you furious once the disk has been moved back a few times.

    In both cases, I expect that if your files are truncated, rsync didn't would be out something (perhaps with the option - verbose?) or you get an error message in the kernel logs when the file system is mounted or copy to or from the file system.

    Hope that it will guide you to a solution, although it seems that I have produced more questions than answers...

    (2) my full backup includes controlfile autobackup and archivelogs.
    (3) after that, I'll do a RSYNC to send all items to backup to the staging server.
    (3) on stage, I will / want to apply the daily backup of prod on it. I don't mind not seen the last DB (changes after 03:00 not recorded)
    (4) I don't use rman catalog. If all the backup information store in the control file.

    My questions are

    T1) I restore the database (I see that these backup item is read from the rmanbkp/u02/and these data, the files are restored).
    Now, I want to recover the database, so I think I must apply these archivelogs backup for recovery.

    However, if you notice, RMAN is reading about (deprecated) /U01/ < /b > on the < b > archivelogs instead of the archivelogs saved in < b >/U02/rmanbkp. < /b >

    Why so much? Is this the correct behavior? How can I make RMAN uses these elements to backup archivelog on/U02/rmanbkp



    Q2) that I encounter this error ORA-00310: and I get autour. It is saying that I need to use a BACK up to WHAT if I don't want this error.

    However, I believe that information of hold of FILE OF CONTROL over where and how long does RETRIEVE UNTIL, isn't? (and since I'm on the CONTROL FILE of the recovery, why I always see this error?

    A1) because the controlfile comes from the production server where the archived redologs are available in
    / U01/oradata/StarHub/Arch, you must run an overlap on the stage for the controlfile node is updated.

    change archivelog than any overlap;


    remove expired archivelog all;

    To move forward with recovery of database until...;

    A2)
    You must specify a point in time, scn, or logsequence if you want to recover to a point in the past (which is what you want to do).
    If you get it back until the clause, rman performs a recovery complete (up to the last committed transaction) to do this, you need the redologs online that are not backed up by rman.

  • Uninstall software update Apple says error in seller contact package package unstaller

    Try to get itunes working to make a backup of my faulty iphone before repair.

    First-itunes does not start says error. I'm trying to fix it, who said success but same error when you try to start it.

    Then uninstall completely worked. Then reinstall that seemed to be over except for a message "an older version of Apple software update already exists" then he went down and install itunes apparently had not been completed.

    Then I try to remove the update from the apple software and executed by an error in the installation program - it says there is an error in the installation and contact the supplier of the installation package. Same error if I run the uninstall command line program.

    Try to repair the Apple Software Update of programs & features Control Panel and then try to update iTunes again.

    For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

    The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

  • An error in this Applescript that I can't understand

    Hi, I searched some forums and found this script below which I modified. It works great except for a single statement:

    runScript If = 1 then number error -128 I want the script to do is, when a USB drive is mounted and is in the ignoredVolumes as "USB Untitled" I want the script to stop. What I can't understand is, runScript is set to 1, "Untitled USB" Monte, runScript is not changed, why don't the script stops with an error "user cancelled"? On the other hand, if a key USB Monte is not in the ignoredVolumes, runScript is set to 2 and copy the file I want it. What hurts? It's probably something that will be very obvious when I see the answer.

    I had a problem with the rotation of the screen under macOS Sierra function.     Great job to test mode without failure. In Safe Mode disables most of the third-party services, it could be a compatibility problem with an application that you have. Check out this article:

    You can not hold account that the title suggests it's to El Capitan. It applies to macOS Sierra as well.

    You can also test the issue in a new user account.

    I recently bought an iPad Mini 2 specifically so that I could use the app to playgrounds to learn about Swift.  Whenever I try to download the playing field 'Learn to Code 1 - basics of the swift' I get an error that says: "not taken download error supported URL.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the soft playgrounds several times.  Other playgrounds (as 'learning to Code 2 - beyond the basics') download very well.  How can I bypass or fix this error and get the first playground of lesson?
