Hello

I had run from the following link-time libraries

http://Joule.NI.com/nidu/CDs/view/p/ID/1391/lang/en

I have converted the above in debian package rpm package.

I installed debian and I don't know labview runtime is installed (synaptic Package Manager)

I'm still not able to run the executable labview on my Linux (ubuntu 8.04)

So pls response ASAP

  • LabVIEW application developed on windows can be installed under linux?

    Hi all

I use suite developer LabVIEW 2009 on windows 7 PC. I was wondering if the application created with labview on PC can be deployed on the linux platform? If not, is it possible to develop the LabVIEW application on windows to deploy on linux platform?

I was also wondering if computers single-board as Beagleboard, Raspberry Pi are loaded with linux, labview application can be deployed on these computers?

(in simpler words, I wonder, with existing suite of Labview 2009 developer on windows, can I develop a data acquisition application and deploy it on single-board computers that have linux installed on them.)

    Thank you!

    Nilesh-

To create an exe on a Linux platform, you need LabVIEW for Linux with its application builder. You can open the source on the Linux machine.

  • Is it possible to connect my Application ' Stop' button with the "Run" button of LabVIEW?

Problem - one of my clients recently tested my new LabVIEW application and asked how the arrested LabVIEW application can be restarted without clicking on the "Run" (right arrow) button.

Is possible solution - possible to connect my Application ' Stop' button with the "Run" button of LabVIEW?

    Thank you!

    Barry

The big problem is in your Acquistion to stop audio event. You run the LabVIEW stop sign which is the equivalent of hitting the Cancel button in the toolbar.  (See contextual help on that).  You can stop the acquisition, but you don't want to stop your LabVIEW program.  You need this case in the event your computer to transition state in a sleep mode when you do not make any purchase.  Then hit the purchase button to start again transitions the machine state in the acquisition.

In your case of program output, you want really to leave LabVIEW it.  You want to run and stop commands like closing the com port and one of these activeX references.  Then allow it to stop the while loop.  Turn the LabVIEW out outside the loop so that once everything is cleaned, your application may close.  You probably want to wrap this command in a case structure so that if you are in the execution environment, it leaves your application.  But if you are in the development environment, you don't want to cause your LabVIEW environment stop.  Another thing is that right now, you actually have a race condition in the Exit event.  The com port will close first or LabVIEW will come out.  There is no defined order of execution.

Alternatively, you can have an event to close panel? in this way, you haven't accidentally short circuit all your program by pressing the X key.  You want to capture this event, discard it.  And if you want to not actually closed, did trigger the Exit Program button so that you can gracefully shutdown.

You cannot run a form 10g with a length of 6i, and you can't run a form 11g with a length of 10g. If you want to run forms 11g, you have to install an application server in 11g.

  • LabVIEW for linux (Ubuntu 64-bit)

University of Helsinki uses a centralized managed linux installation on all linux workstations.  The distribution is based on Ubuntu 9.10, and it is considering moving to 10.04 LTS.  Almost all of the facilities are 64-bit, only a few old machines (> 5 years of age) are still using 32-bit installation.

In the Physics Department, there are about 500 machines and about 30% of those who are linux workstations.  We strive to get LabVIEW for Linux installed on our desktop, then run under Ubuntu 64-bit.

1 problem (not a problem): For some strange reason, the installation media does not CD/DVD use normal files (iso9660) system, but the media is formatted with the file system "Mac OS X HDF +".  It works under linux, of course, but has been a source of mild confusion.  It would be wise to change the normal file system to the next version.

2nd problem: The installation under Ubuntu does not work.  Namely:

First I mount the media with the "mount-t hfsplus/dev/sr0/media/cdrom0" and try running the installation script
    CD/media/cdrom0/Linux/labview-2009
    sudo knew
    . / INSTALL

Installation is not going smoothly.  According to the error message, the script is not found the library libbz2:

/ Media/cdrom0/Linux/LabVIEW-2009/bin/rpmq: error while loading shared libraries: libbz2.so.1: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

However, the library is in standard place:
    $ ls/lib/libbz2 *.
    /lib/libbz2.so.1 /lib/libbz2.so.1.0 /lib/libbz2.so.1.0.4

I know, "support of the distribution" list only include Mandriva, RedHat, and SUSE.  The version of LabVIEW is the latest version of the fall of 2009.  Does anyone have any ideas what to try next?

    see you soon,

  • FMS 4.5 livepkgr application breaks down Linux server using any memory

We run FMS 4.5.7 associated with the application of the standard livepkgr for direct RTMP and HLS (HDS module disabled streamer). For some reason any after 30 minutes process httpd starts using memory system more and more, and in a minute or two, it blocks the server because it completely empty memory. It doesn't matter how many users are connected to the stream. What I've noticed, is that if there is no user HLS (or HLS is disabled) fine, however it is enough to connect at least one user TLS on the server after 30 minutes and the memory usage begins to increase. If the user connects to 0 - 30 minute window it market.

I tried to play with the recording options in Event.xml for that stream to flow, but it did not help. I tried to save in a file and in segments.

Our server has 32 GB of RAM.

Anyone faced with the same question, make sure you have the serial number of the license charge AND fully rebooted server. At least under Linux by restarting the server through Flash Media Administrator Console let some zombie processes running that blocks the license from loading correctly. Restart all OS instead.

    * RECPROV is the name of the user of the application database.

My question is, why are there user processes to access data files? I think that it does not match the process architecture defined by Oracle. And most importantly, it does not mean a security leak in the database?

    Hello

There seems to be some confusion, even in the Oracle documentation, in terms of nomenclature.

Think of it this way. There is the client program that connects to Oracle, such as SQL * Plus, Toad, custom, etc. written application. This program runs on the client. This may or may not be on the database server.

Then there's the Oracle database server process. They run always on the database server. These processes are of two types, the USER and the background.

    You can see:

    SQL> select background,count(*) from v$process group by background;

    B COUNT(*)
    - ----------
              65
    1 37

Here are copies of the file binary oracle attach directly to the SGA and interact with database files. The binary oracle works with several different "personalities" based on the different purposes, he is currently serving. The type of background process, are divided into different specific methods for specific purposes.
    Yet once, observe:

    SQL> select pname from v$process where background = 1;

    PNAME
    -----
    PMON
    VKTM
    GEN0
    DIAG
    DBRM
    PING
    PSP0
    ACMS
    DIA0
    LMON
    LMD0

    PNAME
    -----
    LMS0
    LMS1
    RMS0
    LMHB
    MMAN

    PNAME
    -----
    QMNC
    Q001
    CJQ0
    Q005

    37 rows selected.

Thus, each background process serves a different purpose. For example. DBW0 concerns only to write data from the buffer cache data files and maintaining all data structures associated with it. Each background process above serves a different purpose, I will not go into all. Generally, the background processes start up time of instance startup, even though some may be started on demand, at a certain time after the start of the proceeding.

Now, consider a dedicated server model. When you connect to the database by using SQL * Plus, for example, you run the binary "sqlplus". Assume that you are connected via SQL * Net. In this case, sqlplus connects to the listener, the listener creates an oracle server process, type 'USER '. This process always runs on the database server. It runs under the user 'oracle', and it provides your real and direct interface to the database. This user can interact with the database and read the database files directly.

Mainly, your server processes the USER will read the data from the cache buffers and, in the case of an absence of cache, will read the data in the data files and loading into the buffer cache. In addition, according to the code path, it can directly read or write to the datafiles, bypassing the buffer cache.

So, the bottom line, all server (USER and BOTTOM) processes, interact with the database and associated files. The code of client program (sqlplus, Toad, etc.) NEVER directly interacts with the database.

    Hope that things cleared up.

    spirty,
This sounds like it could also be a permissions problem. I'm guessing that when you copy-n-Paste the form on the LINUX Server, you did what Windows Explorer. When they are copied to the server LINUX file will be created with the default privileges defined on the file. I recommend that you connect to the LINUX Server and check the permissions on the file. If your file permissions do not match the permissions of the text.fmb (or other files .fmb you have there) I suggest that you change the permissions so that they match.

    I hope this helps.

    2. How can I temporarily fix this bug to get the missing functionality before the next version of Ubuntu or Fedora? Can someone advice any solution.
(Well, please don't say: leave Linux and use Windows.) I want to use Linux, not Windows. "And I want a job in the same way).

If you want additional information about a bug, I will provide.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 M 1 PSAGCE under Ubuntu Intrepid (kernel 2.6.27.11).

_I realized that only Ricoh SD/xD Card does not work (it worked on VIsta). _

    Anything else is OK.

I think that our laptops are related, take a look at my ACPI and journal modules.

  • HP Probook s 4440: the update of the BIOS under Linux

    Hello

My laptop (HP Probook 4440 s) is in the list of laptops with BIOS updates related to security issues [1].

But I'm on Linux, for which no updates seems to be available [2], although there is an update of the BIOS available for Windows [3]?

Could someone tell me how to get and apply this update via Linux...

    THX,

    Abdellatif

I did recently on my HP ProBook 450 G2 Kubuntu Linux 15.10 running.

A new version of the BIOS (01.16 Rev.A 1 December 2015) was available, but for Windows only.

What I had to do to install the BIOS under Linux:

    * Download the exe file (for example: sp74048.exe): this is an archive

    * unpack with 7zip

    * go to my laptop configuration: restart, press [ESC] >

Configuration of the BIOS F10 > MAIN > system update BIOS > BIOS update using local media

    * read the instructions:

"Place the system on a FAT32 partition no BIOS BIN file more

on the system or on a removable USB hard drive

    under the folder "Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\New.

Then, add or verify that the HP Bios update utility (HpBiosUpdate.efi)

and the signature file (HpBiosUpdate.s12) are

on the same partition FAT32 under

the path to the following folder: "Hewlett-Packard\BIOSUpdate. »

    * Take a flash drive, create the folder ""Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\ " "

copy the whole folder "BIOSUpdate" since the original installation file for her

create the "New" folder and copy the bin on it (in my case "M74_0116.bin")

    * If at the end, the flash drive looks like this:

    \---Hewlett-Packard

    + - BIOS

    | \---New

    |      Mxx_xxxx. bin

    |

    \---BIOSUpdate

    all files here

    * place the flash drive in the laptop and "BIOS update using local media" hit the button [I accept] below "the system BIOS will be updated immediately.'." "

Then update the BIOS HP appears saying: the system BIOS is updated day. > writing new BIOS Image. > Veryfying new BIOS Image. > restart.

    Fact.

It is really beyond me why HP does not provide a simple archive with the appropriate directory structure and a readme file so that anyone could update the BIOS regardless of operating system.

Warning: I'm just an average Linux user. This procedure worked for me, but before use, you must consider the risks for yourself. You SHOULD know what you're doing.

  • Portege Z930 - slow Wi - Fi on battery under Linux

    Hello

I just bought a Z930 and I run Linux Mint and Windows 7.
I have a problem under Linux that I have on Windows.
When I put my computer on battery, there is a significant signal drop.
Do someone why there is such a problem? We can solve this problem by setting up my network device?

    Thanks for your help!

    Badmaul

Wifi pilot would need updating, looks like maybe try a Ubuntu Live CD v12 and see how it goes. Ubuntu is very friendly Toshiba.

  • No material listed in Labview 2010 Linux DAQ

    Hello

I have a problem with DAQmx Base 3.4.0 under Linux:

mxbaseconfig shows my NOR-6009 device to the USB port. I can also create tasks corresponding to the nor-6009 in there. When I try to create a task in Labview 2010, one of the constant I/O are always empty. Dropdown menu arrow is grayed out. If I get the name of the device directly in the constant, he through me an error :-( Do not know Semms like Labview, which DAQmx Base instruments are connected...

With devices VISA, I don't have this problem. All VISA devices are displayed in the dropdown of the constant and work correctly.

    lsdaq gives me:

    Find the following materials:
    NEITHER 6220: "Dev1" (PXI1::4:INSTR)
    OR USB-6009: "Dev2' (USB0::0x3923:0x717B:0119B3BD: RAW)

    NI-VISA - 5.0.0

    NOR-DAQmx Base 3.4.0

    LabVIEW 2010

    All installers worked well...

No idea how to access my OR-6009?

DAQmx Base does not have controls that LabVIEW as DAQmx done [1]. Because the driver does not use background services, it cannot be said LabVIEW what devices and channels are available on the system.
