  • Problems with fonts in InDesign CS3 in Snow Leopard

Has anyone else had problems with the font book and InDesign CS3?

Just had some new Mac Mini running Snow Leopard against Migration Assistant an old Mini. Initially, every thing seems to be great. But on the opening of the ads in Indd CS3 I noticed that fonts disappeared, even if they have been enabled in the font book.

Then I reinstalled the necessary fonts and we don't use iLife and iTools products, I traded the Helvetica TrueType for the version of Adobe.

    It does not work...

So, I have rebuilt the Mac fonts installed, once again, a CD original and installed InDesign CS3 clean (orig DVD)...

Yet once again, did not work.

Now, I know I can put fonts required in the folder Fonts in InDesign, or store them in ~/Library/Fonts, but since we have a library of 3000 + policies that manage our users with the font book, it will become unworkable.

Anyone could launch a patch or fix this, another way...?

There is a Snow Leopard update, you will need to search in preferences/software update system after the upgrade. After the reboot, this problem has been elminated for me, fortunately!

  • Can someone please tell me what version of Photoshop Elements will easily download and run with mac Snow Leopard 10.5.8?

I posted a question which was: can someone please tell me what version of Photoshop Elements works with Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Then this window pops up saying mark this discussion with a question and this window.  I have no idea how it works. It is already a question and if I need to point out that how this window it looks like a word of edition window, help me to do this? Download, installation, setting up

You asked the question in the title area instead of the area where the body of your posting is intended to be.  No fault of your own - they need to make more clear form.

Check the system requirements for the different versions of Photoshop Elements and see who fits your system.  Adobe sells only the latest versions of their software, so if you need an earlier version, you will need to find a seller for her.

  • Snow Leopard has been set for Photoshop CS3?

I think the upgrade from 10.4.11 to Snow Leopard, but some people have told me that my

Adobe Photoshop CS3 (which I use regularly as well as InDesign CS3 and Acrobat 8 Professional) will not be

    always work with Snow Leopard.

Other people have said that Apple has fixed the problems with the 10.6.4 update and they told me

that all my CS3 apps works perfectly with the Snow Leopard update.

Anyone of you guys work with version CS3 with Snow Leopard?  If so, how do things work?

    Your opinion is welcome.

    Thanks for your help.

No problem here. Sorry it does not work for you. I am running Photoshop CS3 on a 2008 Mac Pro 8-core 2.8 GHz and a 2007 Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz without problem.

  • How to restore good export PDF from InDesign CS3 or CS5 in Snow Leopard?

I had no problem to export to PDF from InDesign CS3 files (on a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.4) until last weekend, when all the fonts appear bitmap or thin and rough, and the images lost color depth and contrast. When I copied the InDesign document to my MacBook Pro laptop, also running 10.6.4 the PDF has emerged with its original quality. Support calls Adobe referred me to the incompatibilities between Snow Leopard and InDesign documents. One of these documents was several pages long, but I could not print from the Adobe to my HP website all-in-one Officejet, because one-third of the document was hidden under a white board. This makes it impractical for the troubleshooting document, because I don't have enough screen real estate (even on a 23-inch screen) to let the open document and all the pages and dialogue boxes needed for reference. Back to the phone and chat support, I was told to upgrade my Creative Suite Premium CS3 to CS5 ($ 800!) and buy the updated Acrobat Pro ($200), with no guarantee that this cost of $1,000 would actually solve the problem. I downloaded the trial version of InDesign CS5, and it has NOT solved the problem. I am also afraid that the problem did not exist before last weekend. Before that, my CS3 and Snow Leopard combination worked very well. Then I checked the forums and was appalled by the variety of issues related to PDF files, for which there seems to be no general solution. Meanwhile, I have hundreds of ads, I'm supposed to be prepare and e-mailing as evidence PDF to businesses nationwide. I have two books of 120 with 256 pages to be submitted to printers in PDF format with all kinds of fonts and files image belonging to my clients. The last time I presented a paper on a printer by electronic mail, the work went perfectly. This time and the next, it is obvious, that I won't be able to send a PDF file to all! If this is the case, my activities related to the directories of 27 will be unable to absorb the expenditures necessary to start all over again with software and new computers, and I'll be out of business. Period. Yes - someone ' an at - it a way to solve this problem? Surely, I would be grateful.

There are a lot of things on the forum software and interface that could stand a little improvement...

  • CS5 Design Premium: it moves faster in Snow Leopard as Lepoard?

  • How to partition Snow Leopard on an iMac running El Capitan

    Hello

I would like to ask if anyone knows the best way to go about adding Snow Leopard as a partition to an end i7 model 2015 iMac. I need to run Photoshop CS3 and use an Epson R2400 printer. None of them are compatible with El Capitan.

I read that the partitioning may be an option, but I'm not very computer savvy so I'm having a hard time with google search information that seems contradictory. Ideally, I would like to be able to access the Snow Leopard or El Cap without having to restart. I have a copy of Snow Leopard if a partition is going to work, but some internet advice leads me to believe that I might need to buy Snow Leopard Server and run VMware Fusion, which I'm not familiar with. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If I left out any information that would be useful to determine the best route, please let me know. Thank you very much!

On the model of Mac, you must run the Snow Leopard Server emulation; It is too recent to boot Snow Leopard.

  • After upgrading to Snow Leopard 10.6.5 most of the files does not open in CS3 Rosetta, grayed out menu items

After upgrading to Snow Leopard 10.6.5 most of the files will not open in CS3 and more menu items are gray,

like "Photoshop" and "quit Photoshop. I have to force it to quit. Don't know what version of CS3 since 'about this Mac' is not available.

But CS3 runs in mode of "Rosetta". I had done this years ago, my scanner would work.

I don't remember how I managed to do run in Rosetta and don't know how to do so he could operate normally, if necessary.

Change the name of the file or the plugin to have ~ as first character will prevent it to be loaded.

  • Any update to Snow Leopard and CS3 or CS4 tracks?

Hi all. I'm looking to upgrade my Mac tiger to snow leopard, but I wanted to make sure that there aren't any problems beforehand. Someone has updated to Snow Leopard? Have you had any problems running CS3 or CS4 since?

    Thank you.

There are a few problems with a few plug-ins from third parties, and After Effects CS4 users should switch to After Effects CS4 (9.0.2). Michael Coleman and I try to keep track of issues as they arise. See this post and links it to what we know so far.

  • Run the utilities from disk on machine with Yosemite Snow Leopard startup disk?

I have a 2009 imac that came with Snow Leopard. I've since updated my OS to Yosemite. Should I run the disc from my old snow leopard startup disk utilities or is it a bad idea?

It is not a 'bad' idea, but it is always best to use the version of disk utility which is part of the OS version installed. Do this by starting the computer from the Recovery HD.

Fix the hard disk and permissions

    HD recovery start

Restart the computer and after the chime hold the Order et R keys until the Menu of the utility is displayed.

    Repair

When the Utility Menu appears, select disk utility and click on the continue button. Disk utility charges and select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the list to one side.  Click the first aid tab, and then click the repair disk button. If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then again run repair disc until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait for the process to finish, and then quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

  • I'm running on snow leopard and upgrade to el capitan. If I just upgrade, my data will be safe after finished or need to recover again?

I'm running on snow leopard and upgrade to el capitan. If I just update without backup (because I have no external HARD disk) data will generally be safe / normal after all as we updated iOS iPhone via OTA or need to recover the data again whenever we have updated to Mac OS?

If all goes to plan, your data will be safe.  At times things go bad for a backup is indispensable if you value your data.

    Ciao.

  • Running Snow Leopard and Mavericks, MBP 2009

I have a MacBook Pro mid-2009 (4 GB of RAM, 2.26 GHz, 160 HD) which is running Mavericks (10.9.5). I have problems with iTunes (12.3.1) find my library since I copied the files to my Time Capsule to an HD station. I have researched and followed the instructions, but my library, but cannot be found on the disc, and also he will not find on my Time Capsule or other.

I thought I would downgrade to Snow Leopard, but opening (3.5.1) should Mavericks. Now I think running two Mavericks for when I need to use Aperture and Snow Leopard for iTunes and most everything else, because it seems to play more enjoyable with my MacBook.

How would be better in this respect? My Aperture library and iTunes are on a 4TB post HD all is supported with a second to 4 post HD. I'm a newb when it comes to such things. I read that "performing two partitions or drives multiple is the best way to handle this and provide most compatibility as opposed to virtualization". Someone said as I could "boot from the DVD and use disk utility to create a new partition on the internal drive. Install Snow Leopard. You can start and then in what operating system never desired. "I guess that means that two partitions on my hard drive or an OS on my HD and the other on the ext HD.? If so, what would be better? Could I put the Mavericks on the HD Ext. and Snow Leopard on my MacBook HD?

To complicate matters, I live in America where Macs are rare. I know that in my city of 1 million a Mac tech. My Spanish is good, but I don't speak well, even in English, computers and looking for advice or ideas before you have the tech to do anything, thinking that he can just do everything is faster and more convenient for him. I also wonder if I can do it myself, since I have backups Time Machine going back to before I installed the Mavericks, but would probably have a tech do it anyway. I just want to know what precisely I would ask him to do.

As you say, your options are either have multiple partitions on your internal drive OR install the OS 2nd on an external drive.

    [EDIT]

If you have multiple partitions on your internal drive...

    • You can run lack of disk space on one or two partitions according to what you save on partitions
    • It is convenient because you do not have to carry another device with you.
    • If a disk fails, you lose the two partitions

If you install 2nd OS on an external hard drive...

    • you will have more disk space for the two operating systems work with
    • less convenient, because you will need to have the external drive to use OS 2
