Hello Alexia.

Thanks for the reply.

Try to use your favorite search engine to search and download the required .dll file, install them and see if this helps you fix the problem.

Potentially dangerous... Much more of fake websites out there if you google "rundll32.exe".

  • Problems with latest updates Windows (KB) do not install & repeated notifications via the taskbar icon

    Hello everyone,

In my view, there are many people who seem to have a similar problem to mine, although I was unable to find an answer to one of my questions in this post.

    Description of the problem:

Although my Windows Update is defined on download & install updates during the night hours every day, the latest updates, KB26333880, KB2572073and KB2518864 are not be installed.  I went to the Windows Update site to check my editing history.  He showed the green/white checkmarks next to all 3 updates.  The record also showed that updates have been tempted 3 times during the night.  After clicking on the button "Express" on the Home Page, the results show 3 above updates, but show "0 bytes', then '0 download time. '

To me, this indicates that there is no update to download, despite the yellow Shield of Notification of update continues to appear in the taskbar.

    Corrective measures attempted:

    1. I tried to download / install twice unsuccessfully using IE8 and FF (including restarting the computer).

    2. download & run the program MS Fixitattempted, but received a message which read, "an unexpected error has occurred, please try again later." No. error code has seen with this message.  (I could RECORD the program on my desktop... just couldn't run the establishment).

3 tried to search for the presence of these updates using start > run > %windir%KB###.log (where the # is the individual number of update KB).  Every time - a message appears indicating that the file is not found.

4 looked at the Add/Remove Programs list (with the Show updates checkbox checked).  No updates KB mentioned above could be found.

5 with SAS, MBAMand Outpost Security Suite Pro scans revealed no malware/security issues.  (SAS and MBAM are used only as scanners on request).

This problem with the updates does not download & repeated notifications being indicated in the taskbar has occurred many times before.  On this occasion, I called Microsoft several times before finally, my computer remotely accessible support person and spent about 50 minutes to fix the problem.

(Also, it is noted that almost every support person I spoke with has always tried to tell me that MS is not help with the problem of this type.)  I had to be rather several in my reply... tell the person that MS IS in fact provide assistance free security-related Windows updates.  They now provide free assistance is unknown). Besides... I have more a phone number for States anyway.

    My questions to the community:

    1. is it possible to download & install these 3 updates?

2 is there an explanation as to why MS Fixit program will not be installed, and if so, are there certain corrective measures I can take which will allow me to download & run this program?

    System Specs:

Desktop Dell Dimension 3000 Tower;  WIN XP Pro SP3.  2 GB OF RAM;  3.00 gHz CPU;  Outpost Security Suite Pro.  MBAM Pro (on request only).  SAS (on request only);  SpywareBlaster;  IE8 & FF

Thank you for your time and help, review!

    2 NOR-RIO 4.0

I made simple user LED flashing application target RT using Labview 2011 and build EXE. But EXE will not run after a successful deployment. I tried the cRIO controller using the rest of the basis of knowledge OR troubleshooting.

You must disable the optimization to SSE2 option in your build properties that you run on a cRIO 9002, which is an older model that does not support this feature:

  • every 60 seconds a 'liveUpd.exe"keeps popping up in the taskbar. How can I get rid of him?

Every 60 seconds an icon flashes up the taskbar and minimizes the screen I'm. In the process list, I put the finger on it to a 'liveUpd.exe' purpose such that it appears only for a second, I can't complete the process. It does not occur under a clean boot, but reappears on normal startup. System Restore did not work, and I tried a sweep of windows malware. It makes me potty. Any ideas before going out and shoot myself?

  • Iexplore.exe process still running in the Task Manager

I was see multiple iexplore.exe processes in the Task Manager when I'm not in IE, so to trouble shoot it I uninstalled IE, run several different scans/squared (which found nothing) and iexplore.exe is still appear in the Task Manager. I guess that it is some sort of virus since I uninstalled IE and it is always showing to run. No idea how to do the trick of it? I am running XP.

IF IE 8 was present in the control panel > add or remove programs, then when you have uninstalled it from there, you have restored the previous version of Internet Explorer, in other words, IE 7.

The best way to confirm this is to start IE and then click Help > topic.

There is malware that disguises itself as iexplore.exe.  If you see iexplore.exe or Iexplore.exe in msconfig or in the Task Manager after Windows startup, but you did manually start Internet Explorer, you probably don't have a problem.
What antivirus applications you scan with?

If you haven't already done so, I suggest to do the following:

Run a scan virus online with the eSet online scanner (may require a download if you are using a version of Internet Explorer)

Download, install, update and run MalwareBytes AntiMalware (free)

Download, install, update and run SUPERAntiSpyware

You can uninstall all the latter after their use, if you wish.

  • SOLUTION EXPLORER. EXE must always run at the start of the TASK MANAGER after the LOGIN/WELCOME screen.

Trying to restore the empty desktop icons by the recommendations, I have a white screen with a pointer after login and WELCOME screen.  CTRL-SHIFT-ESC gives me the TASK MANAGER. and I returned 'explorer.exe' I then the full desktop with white icons.  I need to do this every time I have start or restart the PC. I checked the regedit and the only entry to WINLOG, SHELL is "Explorer.exe" any ideas about a problem?  Thank you!

    Hi Eric1029,

You can check if the following registry entries are correct.

    a. open the start menu, in the search bar type regedit, and then press ENTER.

    b. navigate to the following location and check the entries for "Shell" and "Userinit" on the right pane:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    "Shell" ="Explorer.exe" (REG_SZ)

    'Userinit"="C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe '.

    c. also check if you have the correct permission for this registry key (winlogon)

    d. right-click and select permission. Make sure that at least with that you have group administrators, system and installer of confidence with full control and users group read permission.

    e. check if you are able to launch explorer.exe in the window running in the Task Manager.

Important: The above method contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps from the link below:

  • default window cmd.exe opening position is under the taskbar

On a PC with 64-bit Windows 7, when I use the Start button and type cmd into the search bar to open the Windows command window, the window opens in the right place on my desk. However, when I use a shortcut I created with a combination of keys to open this window, it opens up on the desktop so that the top of the window is almost completely under the taskbar, I placed on top of my desk instead of on the bottom as it is by default. It is annoying and makes it necessary for me to replace it every time it is opened using the menu system and the keyboard, because I can't reach under the taskbar with the mouse cursor to get to the title bar to reposition. Is - this avoidable? If so, how?  Thank you.

Look at the Layout tab, in the properties of the shortcut.

  • Pin a shortcut to the taskbar

I just installed Windows 7 7100 on SBS2003 R2 32 bit workstation.  Everything seems simple with two exceptions...

    1. I am trying to pin a shortcut to the taskbar, but when I I drag it to the task bar there is a red circle with a bar diagonally and it won't PIN.  When the application is running and I click right to "pin to taskbar" the only options I have are to "close the window.

    2. is there a way to remove, hide or remove a program running in the taskbar (Windows Messenger for example)?

    Thank you very much.

My understanding from what I've read of Microsoft... shortcuts, folders and disks can be pinned. The icon must be associated with an exe file. You may not remove or hide a program running in the taskbar either. Jonathan Matthis aka "7test" on MSN QnA

  • Toolbars were staying is not in the taskbar regardless of locking toolbar or any other "bars," used.

    Hi all.

I have W7 Home Premium edition. I have two toolbars that point to folders on my C:-one is for game shortcuts, others simply utility/program shortcuts. Two toolbars are in my taskbar. I have a chance of 3 to 7 of them whenever I connect and turn it back on in the process of disappearance, or start. Files and links that are always there, because to add toolbars when I connect, I just have to say new-> toolbar-> then select the two that I have created as they always appear in the list of available items to use for a toolbar. Curiously, they are retained at the bottom of the list. Once I have added to them, they stay there for the duration of my login. I have a draw, although whenever I connected to see whether or not they will be there. Someone please see that! It's VERY embarrassing.

This happens to me ALL THE TIME! However, not ALL the time, but often enough that it annoys the _ living out of me. I can't find a solution to this either. Could someone please provide some guidance?

    Thank you
    TheOctagon TheOctagon

    Hi TheOctagon,

I suggest you to lock the taskbar after the toolbar to add and check.

You can also try to pin these exe file of programs to the taskbar and check if this help. So that you can open it quickly and conveniently, rather than look for the program in the start menu.

If still you have the same problem then, I suggest you to check that the problem persists in the new user profile. This problem may occur because of the corrupted user profile.

To create a new profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile will also be created.
    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on create a new account.
    4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

  • How can I get rid of the taskbar of windows 7?

OK, I had installed bblean and the taskbar of windows 7 are annoying me, now I do not want to automatically hide anyone who has a PC for a few years knows how to do this. Also, if possible I want a way to get rid of it without modification or removal of explorer.exe. Also, I tried the taskbar eliminator and it's *.

It is not possible. It is a part of UI (UI) Windows. Auto hide is the only way to temporarily hide the taskbar.

  • is there no way to pin windows defender tile or the taskbar

It is indeed interesting. I note by right clicking on the Windows Defender, it there is no way to pin on the subway or the taskbar. This is something that one could expect to see in an update or will resign ourselves that this will not be changed.

Well Yes! He is a. I galloped in Explorer (on the advice of another) and went to Program Files / Windows Defender and right clicked on the msasc.exe and he pinned to the taskbar. But try to pin at the beginning did not work, because after doing this and clicking on the tile, he grew up only Explorer.

So I made a shortcut on the desktop, it renamed Defender and anchored at the beginning. Everything works like hot molasses ran down a hill toward the front on a hot summer day!

  • Workstation 7 on Win7, multiple instances of the taskbar

When you run VMWare Workstation 7 on Windows 7, VMWare offers systematically there are multiple instances running.  1 for the application itself and 1 for each tab open in the application, regardless of its status running.  It's very confusing when I usually 5-6 tabs open, but only 1 of them is actually being run.  I know there is an icon on the top of each preview indicating if it is suspended or running, but a quick glance, it is difficult to find a case running.

Is it possible to have only 1 instance of taskbar or display only the virtual machines running in the taskbar, instead of each of them?

There is no configuration parameter to control the Aero thumbnails, but we had other requests specifically question that makes it more obvious that VMs are suspended and who are running (since they both show a screenshot and are differentiated only by the icon). It is being investigated for a future version of Workstation.

  • Explorer Windows doesn't do not work when left clicked in the taskbar. Explorer.exe is running in the Manager of tasks for only a few seconds then cuts.

I have a problem with the Windows Explorer. When I left click on the taskbar Task Manager indicates that explorer.exe is running, but deletes then after a few seconds. I can right-click in windows Explorer and select any file frequent or pinned and who opens, okay, right click in windows explore does not work. I clicked the windows Explorer and checked the properties that appear to be identical to my second PC that is also running windows 7 and works very well. I also open the location of the files and tried to launch explorer.exe in c:\windows which gives the same result. Can someone help me please.
