I sent an email asking why their site could not detect this at smartswipe site and said by them to reload IE9 or load Mozilla. Reloading of IE9 was not good - I kept getting error message. I used Mozilla for awhile until my HD failed and was replaced. Now your website says disabled smartswipe and used to work with Mozilla 20.1 can use a version earlier than Mozilla or not? This seems to indicate that the USB card reader works properly, and perhaps that the problem lies in the USB on the Toshiba drivers. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for this. • Portege A600-175 - failed to start the card reader device

  I got a Portege A600-175 running windows XP SP3 with a problem in the card reader device. Insert an SD card, it makes the sound that USB devices usually do when inserted (and also when it is removed) bur it doesn t appear on my computer. Do the Device Manager, it appears as a disc with an exclamation point on it and in properties, I see the error this device cannot start. (Code 10)

  I ve already removed the device and let windows find and install again but the problem persists.

• Problem on the Qosmio F50 - 10Z card reader

  I had this problem for a while, he started with the original OS Vista 32-bit, so I decided to buy the cd to upgrade toshiba for windows 7, after the update level, everything worked fine, except for the card reader, regardless of how many times I have installed/uninstalled, installed the driver, it wouldn't work!

  Which driver version you are using on Vista and Windows 7? My Qosmio F50 is running Windows 7 and I m using the version of the driver on Toshiba page 1.00.29.02.

  8MB - 2 GB SD card
  SDHC - 4 GB card
  -16 MB - 2 GB xD Picture card
  Memory Stick - 8MB - 256MB
  Memory Stick Pro - 256 MB - 2 GB
  MultiMediaCard - 8 MB - 1 GB
  miniSD (with SD adapter) - 32 MB - 2 GB

  I recommend also to format the card and to copy files from computer, and then test this.
  You can also reinstall and update the driver for the card reader controller...

  My SD card reader has been in place. It will read a few cards of 4 GB and won't read other (usually newer).
  All cards in this problem area are Transcend cards 4GB SD (HC or whatever the format more later is)
