RunDLL error on startup

Hello!

I have 1st gen X carbon 1 with Windows 10 (1151).

When I start the computer I get the RunDLL error message: "there was a problem starting C:\Program Files (x86)\ThinkPad\utilities\PWMTR64V.dll.

What I tried:

1. it is y no entry or anything like that (name of file or folders) in the registry - so I can't remove it

2. I did startup disable all services of nonMicrosoft and all tasks. The message is still there;

3. I've updated all the drivers and the software I (MS, Lenovo, the rest);

4. did you the DISM procedure.

Nothing helped so far and I still have this message poping upward whenever I start windows.

Go into the control panel and find scheduled jobs. In the lower pane, find the task running called "Lenovo power settings. Delete the task

    Hello

Were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

Method 1: Put the computer to boot and see if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Hello

    1. could you give us the exact error message?

It seems that this file has been associated with an application, I recommend you to check if the problem occurs in safe mode. We can find the program that is associated with performing the clean boot.

Step 1. Please check if you are facing the same question when working in safe mode.
    a. restart your computer.
    b. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information tap the F8 on your keyboard key repeatedly until you are presented with the screen Windows 7 Advanced Startup Options.
    c. using the arrow keys, select the desired option of Mode without failure.
    d. press the Enter key on your keyboard to start in safe mode of Windows 7. When Windows starts and check if the problem still persists.

  • How to fix Rundll errors at startup caused by WildTangent

Hope you can help me with this.  I use XP and whenever I start my computer, I get a message that says WildTangent Rundll error module is not found.  This gets really annoying...  I tried using msconfig and uncheck the box that I thought was the cause of the problem.  The message has disappeared, but the computer obviously wasn't working properly after that.  Anyone has any ideas on other things I can do.  I did a system restore and the message reappeared.

    Hello

I followed your instructions exactly and has competed only auturuns scan.  I unchecked the box that mentioned Wild Tangent, and when I restarted my computer, the message didn't come.  Thanks to you, it seems that the problem is solved, finally.  I can't thank you enough.  I really think you need to be a genius!

    Thanks again.

    9. laptop rebooted in normal mode, so I could create a restore point and that's when the RunDLL window errors popped up twice

I've exhausted myself looking on the net and the answer I get is to download Regcleaner to fix dll errors.  I've always learned not to mess with the registry.  I'm also not sure what I pay for if it's ligit or not.

Should I run AVG Free, Windows Defender, and Trend-Micro all at the same time

Should I just start Trend Micro, then when I want to scan virus in safe mode Windows Defender and AVG free?

As I sit here typing this on my laptop not affected, the Trend-Micro on my laptop infected started a scan for virus/Malware on its own.

    Thank you

    Hi Fit4lyf8,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.  First of all, thank you for providing so much information in your message.  It really helps to solve the problem when we have all the information we need!  Because AVG found so many Trojan virus the likelihood other files are damaged seems quite high.  RunDLL error is also a good indicator.  I think that the best starting point is to try to run the System File Checker.  This tool (SFC. (EXE) check files in use windows and, if problems are found, restore a good version of the file.  When running Windows Vista in Normal Mode or Mode without failure, you can use the following steps:

    1. open a CMD window as an administrator. (ORB start, all programs, accessories, right-click on command prompt, and then click Run As Administrator)

    2. run this command:
    sfc/scannow

3 monitor the results returned by SFC.

Watch carefully the result of present SFC in the command prompt window. The three possibilities and their conclusions are:

    o SFC found no problem
This means that versions of the correct system files are used by Windows Vista, SFC.exe can determine. If you're still having problems in Windows, it could be questions of registry (SFC checks the files, not the registry), software installed on Windows or equipment.

o the SFC found and fixed the problems
This means that the SFC may have solved your problem. Try to reproduce the problem again. If the problem persists, it may be that there is unrelated to system file issues. But the presence of these questions could indicate that corruption

o the found but SFC could not fix problems
This means that there are more important issues with the Windows system files. It could be that you have corruption in the SFC store uses for recovery. In this case, you may need to reinstall VIsta.

Before you decide to reinstall VIsta let us know the results of the analysis of the system files.  There may be other measures we can take before reinstalling.  I hope this information is useful.

    Thank you

  • RunDLL error on startup - Windows 7

Hello. Every time when I start my computer, I get the following error message:

    There was a problem starting

    C:\Users\duckalas\AppData\Local\Temp\dplaasks.dll

The specified module could not be found.

Please tell us how to solve this error.

    Thank you very much.

Hi, this look like a virus/trojan, which has been already removed your AntiVirus scanner, but the registry entries are always present.

Start regedit.exe and search for dplaasks.dll and remove all the entries that you find.

    What is a rundll error?

File rundll.exe are processes systems directly connected to your computer Windows registry. All of the Dll files are a part of the vast library that contains code and data that are shared by many programs. This allows to obtain the effectiveness of speed and memory of your operating system by reusing the same code or file to run many functions of various programs. An error occurs when the program are not allowed to access this code.

    Why do you Rundll errors?

Windows uses rundll files to load programs, files, and applications. If the dll file is missing or damaged, any application using this file cannot be loaded. This will produce a rundll error. The reason why the file has disappeared is often related to a virus or spyware. This type of malware often tries to divert the files shared by the rundll file. Other sharing programs file then do not work effectively or to load any.

    STEP 1: IDENTIFY

The first thing you need to do is to identify the process specific rundll. This isn't a difficult task; There is a library online extensive process in which you can assess the validity of the process that is running. When the error dialog box opens, it displays the name of the process. For example, if the dialog box appears and tells you the dll error:

    STEP 2: STOP THE PROCESS

Often, you can locate the Dll of enforcement in the services of the exe. You can open your services configuration by following the instructions below:
    1. open your Start menu.
    2. click on run
    3. in the command screen type:services.msc
    4. This will bring to the top of the window Management of the Services . If you drag the mouse to one of the services. It will give you a detailed explanation of the service in question. By right-clicking the individual service.
    5.stop the "dll" service immediately.

NOTE: sometimes the dll process can not be stopped by this method.

STEP 3: CHECK FOR AND REMOVE

You need to open your Windows registry file system. It is an extremely delicate process. The registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > RUN

This action will help you speed up the considerable load time of your applications. Here's how:

    1. click on Start
    2. click on run
    3. type regedit
    4. find this registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > RUN

    5. in the right section click on: "rusvdgpo" = "%System%undll32.exe % System%usvdgpo.dll, [RANDOM LETTERS].
    6. delete the value and reboot.

    SPECIAL REMARKS

Rundll.exe is a critical system process. However, there a great vulnerability is back, which makes it more prone to malicious purposes by an attacker allowing access to your computer from remote locations, stealing passwords, personal data and Internet banking.

The Trojans are usually use this attack method to share a process that invites the other malware be more Trojan horses or other forms of spyware. The best defense is to keep your security up-to-date software and explain the process of rundll on your computer.

    ======================

More information is a lot to explain and resolve the problem.

Since it is a painful process for beginners, it is best to create a new user account and remove the error causing the user account.

Because not only it solves problems, there will be new user settings and the program files needed for the user account.

Once you are in the new user account, you can scan by using a program that synchronize with the server and check for virus/malware/spyware.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to start your system in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Method 2 : If the question does not exist in Mode safe mode then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

  • LogiLDA.dll module not found error at startup.

Original title: RunDLL error on startup?

When a journal on my laptop, I see a weird RunDLL dialog box that says:

There was a problem starting C:\Windows\System32\LogiLDA.dll

The specified module could not be found.

That this has something to do with my laptop, or a program?

I've never noticed something wrong with my laptop lately, just this stupid dialogue box every time you start...

I have a TOSHIBA laptop with windows 8 on it.

  • «RUNDLL error loading the C:\...» "at startup

Start Up and as I get load of icons on the desktop: "RUNDLL error loading C:\Documents and Settings\Ralph\Local Settings\Application Data\compatCommsdlg\uniMainTask.dll the specified module is not found."

I have XP SP3.  I understand that vaguely that a dll file has something to do with an application.  All programs loading and I seem to be able to use all the programs but I must first click 'OK' to the message acknowledgew to continue.  (1) what is the error?  (2) what program he claims? ((3) how do necessary file or, if not necessary, 4) how can I get rid of the error?

Looking for errors like this by doing a search on Google for the name of the file.  Usually, they turn up without success.

When a search in no hits or suspicious hits result, the answer is usually that the file in question is linked to the malicious software and your anti-malware application has deleted or quarantined file, but left to the Windows registry entry that tries to start the malicious software when you start your computer.

In your case, there is no success for uniMainTask.dll, but the file name is not typical of the random letters used for malware, so it may indeed be a legitimate application-related.  However, you should treat it similarly.

First of all, download, install, update and run full scans with two of these free analytical tools:

    MalwareBytes AntiMalware
    SUPERAntiSpyware

Do not run the scans at the same time.  They can take some time, so start an and then go for a non computer chore for awhile.

If the scans does not solve the problem (and they can't, because the actual malware file has already been processed), then download and run Autoruns.  Click on the "Connection" tab and look in the column 'Image path' for the dll named in your error message.  If it is not displayed in the connection tab, click the "all" tab and use the file > search tool.  A characteristic of the search of Autoruns tool is that you must move the selection under the element line "found" before you "Find Next."

Once you find the line with the file in question, either "delete" or (if you want to be safer) uncheck the box.  The latter prevents the line running, but you can reactivate it later by removing the check mark.

Look at the line Autoruns including uniMainTask.dll of clues about what application it can relate to. If it relates to a legitimate request, you may need to reinstall this application.

  • I get "RUNDLL error loading C\Windows\arelasiwitafabiz.dll." when I start my system.

Original title: my first RUNDLL error.

At startup, there is a small window on my desktop saying RUNDLL error loading C\Windows\arelasiwitafabiz.dll.

It disappears if I click OK, but always returns to the start. I downloaded a couple of registry cleaners; It is on the advice of the other forums, being a registry patrol, but I later read this was a suspicious program, so I removed it. In fact it seems to be a large number of suspects in programs offering assistance, so now don't know what to do. Finally what effect an error RUNDLL has on a computer. Any help please

The 10 landfills, three were from 2009 so I don't check those out.  Four were on 8 June, two of 14 may, and one from May 17.

Finding bugs were IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (4) or INVALID_WORK_QUEUE_ITEM (3).  INVALID_WORK_QUEUE_ITEM bugs were all attributable to the sunkfilt.sys on December 8, 2004 - the "USB driver for the 6 in 1 media card reader" (your system is a HP?).  The suggestion would be to update the driver, or off the device if you do not use.  Finding bugs IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL were of same and all inconclusive - not irrefutable.

I would say that running chkdsk, and if you have a disk XP,SFC/scannow [Moreover, this], starting with.

    Hello

    Thank you

Verify the path of the dll file... If she is in a place such as \appdata\local\diagnostics\apn\, this is not a system file...
May be that a third party/malware software falsified some startup items... Most of the time this can be due to malware/adware software removal by an antivirus but do not remove the startup entry...

Malwarebyte s scanning is a good idea http://www.malwarebytes.org/free/

But you may need to remove by start up

    (1) if there is everything about the .dll u you described here, to the start system tray turn off...

    http://www.pcandtablet.com/Windows-8-tutorials/1340/how-to-disable-startup-items-from-Windows-system-tray-in-Windows-8-a.html
    or

try to use "Autoruns for Windows" and check if there is that a boot associated .dll u entry you have described and if so delete...
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

If you look at it, it should be under this yellow color

    Yellow color

In case if you can't find using the above methods, it might be under

taskschedule ===>Scheduler task library. If found delete the entry for the Task Scheduler Library .dll file

    or

You can use regedit... Press windows R, type regedit and click ok... (before you edit it, export the key you are going to change or remove)
    then navigate to these paths...

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

then look for the .dill file you have described here and delete this key... RESET
more this could be due to this... If you still get that you can move forward with this...

    (2) go to start > run and type regedit and enter
    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
On the right, look for Shell which should have value of explorer.exe just just like that... All right of explorer.exe, delete if there is nothing.

(This is the correct way, it should be)

    (3) under the same key Winlogon also look for Userinit check if it is as in the illustration...

(This is the correct way, it should be)

  • As that I start my computer I get the error message "Rundll: error loading C:\windows\idoroyuyevev.dll the specified module could not be found." How should I do?

    Original title: Rundll error help

As that I start my computer I get the error message "Rundll: error loading C:\windows\idoroyuyevev.dll the specified module could not be found." -What it means and how to fix it?

It is sometimes easy to get rid of the error message by doing something like disable the startup item in msconfig (if you can still find), but I suggest you fix the problem and difficulty not only the symptom of the problem by simply deleting the startup message.
I would also not recommend you start digging in the registry to try to find the startup item and remove it unless you have a backup of your system or at least a backup of your registry, because there is no 'Cancel' or 'quit without saving changes' option in regedit.  If you make a mistake, that's all.
These ideas relieve 'rapid' and sometimes risky of the symptom if they not even work at all, but they can't actually solve the problem.  Also, I'd be suspicious of ideas that begin with the words "try."  You don't need to try things, you need to fix things.  You don't need to try ideas that might work, you must do something that will always work all the time.
Here are the detailed instructions that protect you and solve your problem in the 'right' way.
There is very little. DLL files that should be loaded from the C:\WINDOWS folder and is not one of them.  If you do not have a good explanation for the name of the file in a Google search, the chances are good that your system is currently or has been infected by malware.
A "Cannot find...". ', ' Failed to start..., "Could not load..." ». "Might not work... "" Cannot run ""error loading... ". "or"specific module could not be found"message at startup is usually related to the malware that has been configured to run at startup, but the referenced file has been removed after a malware scan, leaving behind him a startup item or the registry entry pointing to a file that does not exist.
It might be a removal of malicious software or an application not installed.  The entry may have a curious looking name since it was probably generated at random when the malware was installed. If you search your system for the referenced file, you may not find.
Windows attempts to load this file but cannot locate because the file has been deleted for most probably during an analysis of the malware. However, an orphaned associate of remainders of startup parameter or registry entry and tells Windows to load the file when you start or connection.
So you should delete the referenced entry Windows stop trying to load or run the file. It may or may not be included in the registry, but you can find it.  Autoruns (see below) you get the elements no matter where it is.

You must be sure to solve the problem and not just fix the symptom of the problem by simply relieving your message - system is not a fix (there is a difference).

If you just locate and uncheck the item in msconfig, which disables the element but does not remove the reference to the element of false starting your computer.   The msconfig program is not a Startup Manager, that's a troubleshooting tool.  Disabling things in msconfig to put an end to the messages and think that your problem is solved is short-sighted and leave behind him a sloppy XP configuration.  Just disable the display of a start-up error message should not count as a 'solution' to the problem.
If you are comfortable editing the registry, you can find and remove the reference directly from there or remove it using a popular third-party tool called Autoruns.  The problem can always be found in the registry well.
Before making any changes to your registry by hand or with third-party tools, don't forget to first make a backup of the registry
. There is no cancellation or exit without saving the option in regedit.
Here is a link to a popular registry backup tool:
You can also use the Autoruns to find the element of start remains little matter where he's hiding.  Autoruns does not install anything on your computer.  It will display all startup locations where the reference may be then you can turn it off or remove it completely.  Here is the download link for Autoruns:
Run Autoruns.exe and wait that he at the end of the filling of the list of entries.
When the Autoruns is finished scanning your system, it will say "Ready" in the lower left corner.  Autoruns can be a little intimidating to first if you have never seen it before because it displays a lot of information.  You are really interested only a few sections.
The problem is usually to start the system or the user startup entries, then click the connection tab and see if the startup item is there.
Scroll through the list and look for a boot entry associated files in the error message.
If you can't find on the connection tab, look in any tab.
You can also click file, search to search for logon, or any tab for all or part of the name of the element.
Right-click on the offending entry and choose Remove.  If you are not sure what it is, you can just turn it off, restart and if the problem is resolved and things are functioning normally and everything works fine, then remove the offending entry.  If you don't see it in Autoruns, you may edit the registry and remove the item from your startup folder it.  Autoruns shall display the same information however.
Given that your system has or has had an infection, follow up with this:
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.
