Running the Remote OS command

We have a 12 c ODI architecture using a dedicated server of 12 c of WebLogic running a J2EE agent and a DB of the ODI repository server. For this we have a warehouse of data on a separate server.

We need to run commands to move, copy, compress and preprocess the operating system files. On previous implementations that we just used the standard ODI-utility commands such as ODIFileMove and ODIOSCommand, as the location where files that needed to be addressed and shell scripts on shared storage that had a mount up on the Weblogic ODI server where the agent is running. However, on the current implementation, it is not possible to have shared storage that will allow the data warehouse db and the ODI agent both see the transformation and loading files in the db (by effective means such as external Tables).

It doesn't seem to be possible to run these commands to ODI utility on a remote server named, other than:

(a) have mounted shared storage - and so the officer commands executed effectively on 'local' on the server directories

(b) install an autonomous remote agent and the design of the packaging takes place the remote commands in a scenario of the child and instruct the scenario of the child to use a separate agent - one who is physically installed on the server where the files and shell scripts

My understanding is correct?

I'm not keen on an autonomous agent on the remote server if it can be avoided, because it means lose us some benefits and resilience of the use of J2EE agent on the dedicated server in Weblogic - also we simply may not be able to install an autonomous agent ODI (let alone a J2EE one) on the remote location.

see you soon,

John

Hi jhall_uk_redux,

Indeed, these are the two typical approaches. Now, you can also run some commands FTP using OdiFtp or OdiSftp ODITools, but this only works for the management of the core files.

For more advanced things you can do is have a shell script that is located in a place that can reach your agent JEE. In this shell script, you can use ssh to connect to the remote location and run a command (or call another script shell on the distance).

I see that you have some Questions on the forum. It's a good thing to shut them down if they are resolved or follow-up if it is still pending. Encourages us to support you in the future.

Best regards

It is the nature of ESXi - kb.vmware.com/kb/2005299.  You can use managed to move to the root connection.

You can configure it with ESX sudo, but is not available with ESXi (at least not yet - http://communities.vmware.com/thread/344466).

  • You run the remote Manager

    Friends,
as I prove the Manager remotely to run successfully.
I followed the installation documentation and start the remote remotemanager.bat Manager, then when I can prove that it is running, it loads a console and designer

    Thank you.

Remote Manager allows you to run code on a remote box. You can create a jar file that performs a task. Copy it to the JavaTasks folder on the server of the IOM and the Manager remote server. When you perform your connection by using a resource, you select a remote control for the type of task, then it shall provide the values of Manager remotely as well as the resource.

An example of what it does: Let's say a 3rd party host your servers, but they can not just open all the ports you need. Instead, you install remote manager and then they have to open 2 ports Manager remotely (if you are using SSL) and all information will be sent through this port.

You can test that it is running by accessing the console design and open distance element manager to make sure it contains running.

  • How the REMOTE HTBasic command?

I'm trying to understand what actually do exactly orders remotely and CLEAR in HTBasic GPIB communication.

I think remote sets the REN line and CLEAR running a selected device clear (SDC).

Does anyone know if this is correct or if these functions also include other actions such as the IFC etc. ?

    Any help much appreciated.

I don't think realize you that National Instruments is not the seller of HT Basic. A company called TransEra is. I guess that the similarity between the two names is confusing.

    Hello

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

you have a newly imaged drive today while there should be no problem with the operating system

SFC is only to solve minor problems

for the major problems you will need to do a repair installation

but this does not apply to you in your case that your IT Dept use not reimage repair

I suggest that you go and talk to your IT Department

ask them about the last vista hardware drivers for your hardware of computers

and your IT Department is responsible for your safe running of computers

But, when I try to run the remote application via Microsoft TS (RemoteApp service web pages), it returns me error: host is unreachable.

  • CFEXECUTE to run the process of C:D - running get permissions error in C:D possible side

I'm running a statement of CFEXECUTE in CFScheduler work that is supposed to C:D a file from one Windows Server to another Windows Server.

I have successfully built the C:D batch processing and can run it successfully from the CMD prompt (by double clicking on the name of .bat file).

    Here's my response:

    "< name="C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe cfexecute "arguments =" / E:\inetpub\WWWROOT\Tips\ScheduledJobs\tips_to_tws.bat "c

The job completes without error, but I get an error C:D - LAPP010I - submit a file open failure. CCODE = 8 INSTANCES = 0

So my thought process is the following: when I go and run the command C:D by double clicking on it alone - it takes my id/password as the presenter.  This is evident by looking at the logs C:D.

And when I run the CFScheduler work, executed the command CFEXECUTE, he uses the XXXXXX id to run the C:D command.  So my question is what is the XXXXXX id?  I don't have a ColdCusion running on a special service account, so I'm not familiar with what id he would be associated.  So, any help would be appreicated.

Here is a description of the problem, as well as of a workaround.

  • Run the bat with cfexecute

    Hello
This is a newbie question, but I'm stuck. I have a .bat that works very well through the command prompt, but doesn't work with < cfexecute >, it seems simply to read the .bat but not run. The .bat reads as follows:

    Java - classpath ".;" C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot\i-recall\javaClasses\GATE-3.1\bin\gate.jar' AnnieAPI

    "When I run < cfexecute name="C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot\i-recall\javaClasses\GateClasspathRun.bat ' variable = "myVar" timeout = "100" >
    < / cfexecute >

    The output looks like this:
    C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\bin > java - classpath "C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot\i-recall\javaClasses\GATE-3.1\bin\gate.jar" AnnieAPI

Simply, he reads and does not run the AnnieAPI java command. I didn't write so maybe I need to add something to run this .bat file. Any help is appreciated.

    Kalen - G

I thought about it. Even if the bat file and the java class are in the same folder, I did specify the location by adding the following lines at the beginning of the .bat file:

    EDI
    CD cfusionmx7/wwwroot/i-reminder/javaClasses

Now it works perfectly. Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it.

    service pack 3

    Hi Charbel,

Have you done a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

This problem occurs because the Messenger service is disabled. The Messenger service must run on the destination computer to activate the NET SEND command.

Because the service is already started, and you must restart the service, you can try to stop the service, change the startup type to automatic and start the service. Check if it helps.

Please refer to the article to define the service as automatic:

Programs or services that use the alerts service or the Messenger service do not work as expected after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

For more information, see the article:

The NET SEND command may not work correctly on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2
