RV042 leased line

I have client, in his site have only two servers and 21 user, the wan connection is leased line but it have the modem, can I use the RV042 router?

The leased line is presented as a serial port?  If so, no, as the RV042 only WAN Ethernet ports.

You will probably need to look at something as a Cisco 1941 with a card serial HWIC-1 t.

  • How to use Airport Extreme with ethernet leased line

    Hello friends,

I was wondering if Airport Extreme is a true router, can I connect gout ethernet of my leased line directly in its WAN port, rather than put the provided ISP router between the two? I have lived many positions and all seem to suggest the connection of a cable/dsl modem to the WAN port on the extreme. Not found any information where it shows the ethernet line rented directly linking in the Giga WAN port, without any 2nd device in the meantime.

If it's possible, then I guess also what public IP provided PSI can be put into the WAN of AE interface. Can someone develop more on it and detail the steps of configuration? Given that EI has basic firewall NAT, I think it's doable, but can someone confirm please.

    Thank you very much.

Temporarily, if you connect your computer directly to the Ethernet line, can you get a good connection Internet in this way?

If so, then AIrPort Extreme could function as a router for you, but you are also likely to face a Double NAT error on the network. How well... or, even if... This might work cannot be known until try you it.

If the computer cannot connect, then what is required of your supplier for the computer to connect and get Internet access?

  • Choose a device for 30 MB lease line

Hi, we have a new line of lease for connecting HQ Office and branch recently. I want to choose a device (router / layer 3 switch / FW) for this.

    Here is some basic information:

    1. the line is 30 MB bandwidth.

    2. the line is just for the branch to connect to the file server for the HQ Office and mail server. the branch has 100 people will use the line.

    3. Executive colleague opens the file (word / excel) on the server files directly. most files are about 1 MB ~ 2MB

    4. the mail server is on HQ.

5 HQ Office colleague would NOT use the line.

so, I want to know how to choose a router or a layer 3 switch? and what model to choose.

  • Between the leased line and frame relay connection

    Hey the Cisco Experts,

Based on my commitment, I need your advice on how to route packets from users of frame relay to users of leased with bridge lines different. If I use the 192.168.0.102 bridge, I can access the 192.168.4.0 network but not the 192.168.2.0 network. But if I use the 192.168.0.41 bridge, I can access the 192.168.2.0 network but not 192.168.4.0 network. What will be the solution for this problem. What is routing only or need to add another NETWORK card for the other gateway. Hope you could help me with this.

    Kind regards

    Raymond

    Raymond,

    The solution is simple: -.

"ip route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.41" on the 192.168.0.102 Gulf war

    "Route 192.168.4.0 ip 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.102 ' on the 192.168.0.41 Gulf war

  • What devices transmit Frame Relay and how Frame Relay attached to your computer.

What devices transmit Frame Relay and how Frame Relay link your computer to the internet provider server?

OT: What devices transmit Frame Relay and how Frame Relay link your computer to the internet provider server?

    Hello

Frame Relay is a standardized wide area network technology that specifies layers linking physical and logical channels of digital communications using a methodology of packet switching. Originally designed for transport in Integrated Services (ISDN) digital network infrastructure, it can be used today in the context of many other network interfaces.

Network providers commonly implement Frame Relay for voice (see) and data as encapsulation technique, used between local area networks (LAN) over a wide area network (WAN). Each end-user gets a private line (or leased line) to a frame relay node. The Frame Relay network handles the transmission on a frequently changing path transparent to all end-users.

  • Cisco RV016 failover & load balance Multi WAN question

    Hello

I think the RV016 is the camera to buy for our small building, but I'm a bit confused in the manual if my scheduled configuration is possible, so if you could confirm if this is possible I would appreciate it.

We have a leased line as our main connection (lets call him WAN1). If this connection is not available, I don't want to load balance to any other network WAN.

We have 2 netgear 4G devices identical (we'll call WAN 2 and 3 WAN). If the leased line is not available, I would like to then load balance these two WAN connections.

Then I have a final connection, WAN4 as a slow adsl line. I don't know right now if I want to load balance this WAN1 or just have it as a backup to WAN2 and WAN3 failure (WAN2 and WAN3 have a 20 GB data limit each on their monthly allowance of the contract, if the leased line is down for more than a couple of days, what is unfortunately already happened) (then we reached this limit and then there is charged with extremely expensive data or just use the only ADSL)

In any case, it's normal, I want to balance the load. I want to only load balance WAN3 and WAN2 WAN1 fails.

Anyone know if this is possible? If not, is there any other similar device which would be appropriate?

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hi Bencarroll01,

With RV016 you can get what you need.

RV016 supports up to 7 WAN connection, and there are two mode of operation

    • Swing smart (Auto Mode): This option allows you to balance traffic between all interfaces increase the available bandwidth. The router balance traffic between the weighted alternating interfaces.
    • Group of IP (by users): Select this option for trafficking group on each WAN interface by levels of priority or classes of service (CoS). With this feature, you can ensure the bandwidth and a more high priority for specified services and users. All traffic that is not added to the IP group uses Intelligent balancing mode. To specify the services and users, click modify for the WAN interface and then add the entries of binding protocol for each service, IP address or IP address range.

For our case, we must have RV016 configured with IP Group(By User), so in this case, we can configure binding protocol that we can specify and force all traffic from any IP address of the local network outside through WAN1. and any other WAN connection they always towards the TOP but not the traffic passing through them

Now if WAN1 is down, immediately the rule to redirect traffic WAN 1 will be disabled and all traffic will pass through the rest of the WAN connection

After that if the WAN1 is once again the binding protocol rule will be active again and again all the traffic will be done by WAN 1

  • BGP, OSPF with default route

    Hello

My branch becomes internet through seat & connected through lease line and ospf is running. a static route id 0.0.0.0 set to HO.

Now an additional link is added to our extensive network of MPLS link redundancy & EBGP is running.

My question is how to configure ospf route (my internal network) to bgp & default (for internet) route for connectivity?

    Please help with examples.

    Thank you

For the internet, you need a default route. I am assuming that you will get by default route of MPLS as well so leased will remain DEFAULT road get MPLS BGp inject into LAN by this command that I already added to your config file.

    router ospf xxx

    default information are created

    !

Also if you connect line Lased and MPLS on the same router then router chooses MPLS as the main path as favorite eBGP and ospf. If you ave to change AD BGP routes to ospf will get better than BGP. Use in config for leased line primary and secondary MLP.

    router bgp xxx

    BGP distance 200 200 200

    Hello

specify the network 192.168.33.0 in your RIP configuration on both routers, other that your configuration looks ok. I guess that you send the router at the remote location? I would send a cable to the console along as well, in this way, should everything go wrong unexpectedly, you can tell someone to connect to the router and check what goes wrong.

In addition, I must set up a local user name and password, for example:

0 username admin privilege 15 password Cisco

and then configure the VTY and FUCK with the command "local connection":

    line vty 0 4

    local connection

    Line con 0

    local connection

Other than that, you can try and install a modem on the port for Out-of-band access. It's actually a very good way to save travel time, since you will still be able to connect to the router unless the router is physically dead.

  • HSRP between Cisco 4321 and Cisco 887VA

    Hi all

I am looking to install the following and I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions I have.

    Installation program:

    • A subsidiary, our ISP gives us 20/100 leased line and ADSL circuit use for failover.
    • We plan to connect the line leased to a Cisco 4321 or a G2 Cisco 2921/2951
    • We intend to connect the ADSL circuit to the Cisco 887VA G2
    • We will have a pair of HA of the ASA firewall 5506 x connected routers (be it via a dedicated L2 switch or a VLAN on a switch L3).
    • The LAN is sitting behind the firewall.

We want to run BGP on both routers (the one that connects to the leased line and ADSL line) and configure them as a pair of HSRP/VRRP, while if the leased line LAN users cannot always access internet and you connect to the main office through a VPN S2S which ends on the firewall. BGP will be used to announce our public subnet to the ISP

    Questions

    1. Can a 4321 and a 887VA form an HSRP/VRRP pair as they are running IOS XE and IOS?
    2. How much RAM and Flash is recommended on each router for BGP?

Thanks in advance for your time.

    Ranil

    Hello

Can a 4321 and a 887VA form an HSRP/VRRP pair as they are running IOS XE and IOS?

This isn't a problem, it will work between two routers

    1. How much RAM and Flash is recommended on each router for BGP?

Flash is only an isuse to the size of an image, both routers should have enough speace in support of the default image size

800 s cannot support full BGP table they can not handle cpu or ram and 4321 same with 8 GB of ram can fight a bit with full table, you plan on reducing what is learned inform your ISP regarding prefixes?  route map and prefix filtering?

the leased line is 100 to download 20 upward, 4321 media and aggregate of 50 - 100mps may need to get the 100mpbs for her performance / request

  • PIX-to-router VPN static-to-dynamic

    Dear friends,

I'm trying to configure an IPSec tunnel between a router IOS and a PIX v7.0. I've seen some URL pointing here for a configuration example. However, this example only covers the v6.x PIX version, is not not helpful to resolve my case.

My situation is that the router connects to a DSL provider and obtain a dynamic IP address and my PIX device has a static (Leased line) connection to the Internet. So, I have to establish the tunnel using preshared keys.

How to make using v7.x on the PIX?

    Appreciate the help,

    Mauricio

    Mauricio,

Here is an example for version 7.0 of PIX a tunnel L2L dynamic.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/vpndevc/ps2030/products_configuration_example09186a00804675ac.shtml

You must create a dynamic encryption card, and use the tunnel defaultL2L-group for pre-shared key settings.

The rate of this post, if that helps.

    See you soon

  • Remote VPN client and Telnet to ASA

    Hi guys

I have an ASA connected to the Cisco 2821 router firewall.

I have the router ADSL and lease line connected.

All my traffic for web ports etc. of ADSL ftp and smtp pop3, telnet etc is going to rental online.

    My questions as follows:

I am unable to telnet to ASA outside Interface although its configuered.

Unable to connect my remote VPN Client, there is no package debug crypto isakmp, I know that I have a nat that is my before router device my asa, I owe not nat port 4500 and esp more there, but how his confusion.

    I'm ataching configuration.

    Concerning

It looks like a config issue. Possibly need debug output "debug crypto isa 127".

You may need remove the command «LOCAL authority-server-group»

NAT-traversal is enabled by default on the ASA 8.x version. So you don't have to worry about NAT device in the middle.

  • VPN configuration to 150 + branches

    Hi all

We are planing to have a new research report international 3845 at our headquarters and replace all connections of leased line VPN connections from the service provider. Currently, leased lines are finished in a set of interfaces for E1 3660.

the service provider is to have a VPN - IP MPLS/BGP, so this will be a peer-2-peer VPN. Since we are a banking institution, we do not want to rely on VPN - L3 service providers.

My question is, how do we achieve encryption of our new router to all branches and what will be the specific ideal IOS and FRIEND or VPN modules, we should have?

    Thank you

    uddika

Sorry, I'm confused - you said on the original post

"my question is, how do we achieve encryption of our new router to all branches and what will be the specific ideal IOS and FRIEND or VPN modules, we should have?"

But you also said "the service provider is to have a VPN - IP MPLS/BGP, so this will be a peer-2-peer VPN." Since we are a banking institution, we do not want to rely on VPN - L3 service providers. "

Just so I'm clear - your provider will encrypt the data of your through the MPLS cloud. And you're not happy with this - if you want to make your own encryption and then send it to your service provider? Essentially you want to encrypt him twice - is this correct?
