BGP, OSPF with default route

Hello

My branch becomes internet through seat & connected through lease line and ospf is running. a static route id 0.0.0.0 set to HO.

Now an additional link is added to our extensive network of MPLS link redundancy & EBGP is running.

My question is how to configure ospf route (my internal network) to bgp & default (for internet) route for connectivity?

Please help with examples.

Thank you

For the internet, you need a default route. I am assuming that you will get by default route of MPLS as well so leased will remain DEFAULT road get MPLS BGp inject into LAN by this command that I already added to your config file.

router ospf xxx

default information are created

!

Also if you connect line Lased and MPLS on the same router then router chooses MPLS as the main path as favorite eBGP and ospf. If you ave to change AD BGP routes to ospf will get better than BGP. Use in config for leased line primary and secondary MLP.

router bgp xxx

BGP distance 200 200 200

    Hello
You can archive this as shown here http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/11/27/jdev-11-1-2-1-0-using-router-to-conditionally-set-navigation-target/
Instead of the button that I use in the blog, you use a menu item to set the variable as you then check in the workflow.

  • uRPF with default route

We are eager to apply antispoofing on an interface that has a default route pointing out of it.

This means, for traffic came to this port, no matter what the source IP address, the default route will satisfy the condition that there is a route to the source address of the interface this pkt is currently detect on? URPF is useless in this scenario?

I don't see how to loose uRPF would help.

    Thanks for any help.

    Best regards, MH

    HD

Simply put Yes have a default route practically reduced to nothing the use of uRPF as the router will always have a path to the source. Using of loose or strict does no real difference here. In fact, you would use strict unless you had several paths of access and exit.

Usually uRPF will not use the route by default unless you use the keyword "allow by default".

In your case, you can be better to use the traditional ACL to block RFC1918 address etc.

  • By default static route with recevied BGP default route

    Hi guys;

I have a problem and I don't know how to find or solve it.

My chart is attached, please check everything first.

Secondly, I have a multihomed BGP with two Internet service providers, I received two ISPS via BGP default route.

Now, I have two types of IP addresses as follows:

1 - my own prifixes, who has recorded with my ACE

    2 - iPs purchased ISP2.

I have two networks, the first will contain my own prefixes and second will contain my prifixes ISP2. so I have to go on the internet, static route by default to the ISP2 need and that's fine, now the problem that carry the second defect I received two ISPS in routing however my table if I show ip bgp I see that I received it, but because of favorite and distancing China he disappear the default road statistics.

so now a network is already online and the second network that contain my own IPs is out of service, of course this second network I need to routed to my isps1 via bgp and when isps1 down, go through ISP2 and I do using weight and as path prefix.

    Thank you

    Hi Nathan,

With ACB option, you config-route map is your own prefix and set its next hop ISP 1 and 2 PSI when ISP 1 IP is not accessible. Apply the road map to interface with Network1. ACB is processed before routing.

With option VRF, put the Network1 interface and isps1 VRF1, so it will have separate routing table. Under the vrf1 you static default config with higher AD and the next hop pointing to ISP2 in the global routing table. This will be used when you lose by default isps1. Because separate ridges VRF table routing, so netwoek1 will use the default route in vrf1 to isps1 as primary, the Network2 use ISP2.

  • How to configure the network home wiFi with dlink router

I need to create a home network using the dlink WiFi router
a computer with Vista and the second with XP
can someone tell me what havo to do to configure the router etc etc o give me same informamation on where I can learn to do
I want just the old pc with xp for the server and the vista one customer but more importantly I need the file on XP to migrate under vista.
Thank you very muche for your end of the patient cooperation
in return, I give free cooking classes
    see you soon

I'm not sure if you are asking how to set up a secure wireless network, if you ask how to share files between your two computers (and there is no "customer" or "server" in a working group, in a field - which is not), or both.

So I will give you information on doing both.

    Router - configure manually

Setting up a router is simple enough. Normally, you run the CD that came with the router and follow the instructions. If you're running Vista, maybe the CD that came with the router does not work; I do not know this. But you can set up the router without the CD. Note that if you have Internet cable for the connection you have just set up the router to DHCP (or there may even be a choice of cable to choose). If you have DSL Internet, you select TRP usually and enter the username and password you selected when you initially set the DSL connection. So:

    1. turn off the power to your cable modem.
    2. attach a class (usually supplied with the router) ethernet cable cat5e port Internet/WAN from the router to the ethernet port on the cable modem.
    3. connect the ethernet cable cat5e from the network card in your computer to one of the ports on the router. If you do not have an ethernet cable (because you were using USB), you will need to go to the store and buy a.
    4. turn on the cable modem. After that all the lights are on, turn on the router.

    To configure the router:

Have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine. The first thing to do is to change the default password because * all * known default passwords for different routers.

Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password that you have created (exactly as you wrote it with all capital letters and punctuation) to join the network and start surfing.

    Networking

Here are the steps of general network troubleshooting. Just cannot apply to your situation, so just take the bits that are. It may seem daunting, but if you follow the steps in the links and suggestions below calmly and consistently, you will have no difficulty to implement your sharing.

Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

XP - configure Windows to login automatically (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

Vista - Start ORB > Search > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response.

  • Inside the default Route

We have an ASA 5550. How do you put the statement inside the default route?  When I put inside default route (road inside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.3.254 in tunnel), I can't get on the internet when I connect to the client VPN Cisco with Group Policy techsupport (complete tunnel).  However, I can get on the internet with tunnel of split for the splitunnel group policy.  The config is attached.  Please let me know if you need additional information.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you.

You have no need configure the road inside the subcutaneous tunnel no split policy keyword. With the current configuration, you should be able to access the Internet through the external interface. You try to send internet traffic to your internet gateway internal? Or the ASA outside interface of the default gateway for the internet VPN Client traffic?

  • Default route inside the tunnel VPN Site to site

We want to carry the default traffic within the site to site VPN tunnel, our goal is to route all traffic including default branch road and HO HO help branch for surfing the internet.

    I have due to difficulties

    1. cannot configure dynamic NAT for the router in the branch on the ASA HO, I know configuration for 8.2, but know not about 8.4

This is the configuration for the 8.2, if someone can translate to 8.4, which would be a great help

    NAT (outside) 1 192.168.230.0

    2. I do not know how to write the default route on the branch office router to send all traffic within the VPN tunnel

    Hello

As I understand it then you want to route ALL traffic from the Remote Site to the Central Site and manage Internet traffic there.

I suppose you could define "interesting traffic" in configuring VPN L2L ACL / access-list in the following way

    Branch router

    extended IP access list

    allow an ip

    ASA central

    ip access list allow one

The idea behind the type of ACL for the VPN L2L above configurations is that, for example, the branch office router has a rule that sets connection coming from the local LAN for 'any' destination address must be sent to the VPN L2L connection. So, it would be in such a way that all the traffic will be sent to the Central Site via VPN L2L.

I must say however, that the VPN router configurations side are not more familiar to me because I manage especially with ASA Firewall (and to some extent still PIX and FWSMs)

I guess that on the ASA Central you will PAT translation to "outside" so that the host can access the Internet?

You would probably do something like this

    object-group network to REMOTE-SITE-PAT-SOURCE

    network-object

interface of REMOTE-SITE-PAT-SOURCE dynamic NAT (outside, outside) after auto source

If you don't want to use the 'outside' IP address, then you will have to create a 'network of object' for address IP of PAT and use it in the line of NAT configuration above instead of "interface".

    Alternate configuration might be

    network of the REMOTE-SITE-PAT object

    subnet

    dynamic NAT interface (outdoors, outdoor)

    You also need to enable

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

To allow traffic to enter and exit the same interface on the ASA

All these answers are naturally suggestion on what you have to do. I don't know what kind of configurations you have right now.

Hope this helps in some way

  • R7000 as router with the router for mobile broadband Internet

Hey guys. First of all, my apologies for my somewhat inadequate English skills. Secondly, I am brand new to the community, so apologies in advance for any fault :-) Third stop, apologize for having a complete beginner :-D

So, for the issue: I recently bought a router top mobile broadband 4G (4 G MBR) to my apartment, because of the gap of strength and speed signal very low quality of the cable to the ground on my Street (fiber is to come next year).

But the router provided by my operator isn't on par with my router R7000 Nighthawk when he comes to reach wifi, wifi speed, number of outputs of LAN and power of the processor.

So, I want to use my R7000 my router, the internet signal from the air to the 4G MBR, then by cable to the WAN of the R7000.
In other words; I want to just 4G MBR to simply pass / transfer the internet signal to my nighthawk R7000 router so I can use the R7000 as my router, LAN and wifi.

How can I set this up?

    Thanks for your help!

Update: the MBR has been no help at all. As far as I could tell, there is no possibility to bridge or pass-through mode. The R7000, as she does the work. I just put it in AP mode, adjust all the wired connections DHCP/auto IP assign and everything works great.

  • Problem with wag160N router wireless

Hi all. Sorry for the typos etc I am new in the forum :-). Please, if the subject has moved to another subforum do it.

So, here's the problem: last week, I bought the WAG160N wireless-N adsl2 + modem router (version 2) and yestreday I formatted my laptop 2, so today I decided to install a new one.

I work 2 hours on it now, but still I can't find a solution. I started with the first cd, as required by the guide. Everything works well until the installation wizard step that attempts to connect to the router. At this point, he's looking for 5 minutes and then he said that he is not able to communicate with the router and wonder to check the connection again. I connected everything as it should (the gray wire of telephone jack to the socket of the router that says DSL, cable - ethernet - yellow of Gate 1 of the router ethernet for the laptop and then the AC/DC to the router and power.) I click next to the installation wizard, then he said to the power on the router... I do it and it checks then 5 minutes and again, he says that can't find it and tell me to double check and the story goes like this. I made 6 - 7 times but nothing. I also used the netwotk magical Wizard that was installed to fix the problem (because it recognizes that there is connection problem), but is not able to set in! What should I do? The ISP said that they don't sell Linksys products for their stores (I do not know the ISPS work on other countries, here they sell routers, adsl packs ect in their store) so they can't provide me with support. Can someone help me? Its the first time I use a linksys for me product and I don't know how to install it without the cd.

I use windows vista pre sp2 on two laptops.

I must also say that I have no problem with the ethernet connection the baudtec my ISP gave in the pack, that I bought when I activated my ADSL (2 years ago). IM connected with it now to view the topic.

Sorry for my bad English and im sore right now that I can't think of what other info you might need, post and I will answer you.

    Thx for reading.

    Hello

Connect your device directly to your pc via ethernet cable.

Try to find the ip address of your device using the arp - a command

Try to ping your router/adsl with address (192.168.1.1) ip of the device. u should get a response, if no response then in your pc check the LAN connection properties and enable DHCP.

If you get always no response to ping the device, try and set an ip address in the range (192.168.1.1 or whatever your ip devices). Now, try to configure the device to cd Wizard help.

    Correct me if im wrong.

  • FTP with WRT160N router wireless problem

I upgraded my router WRT54G, a little back and ever since then, I can't get my (CuteFTP 7.0) FTP software to work.

I didn't change anything with the FTP software. The change ONLY on my system is the new router.

Is there some sort of setting I need to change so that he could afford to FTP?

OK - so I fixed it. I think that there is something more big wrong with my router at first. The night last wired connection to my wife worked very well and today he was completely dead. In fact, since I updated the firmware on the router about a month ago, his internet connection was for crap.

I hooked the computer directly to the cable modem and it worked perfectly.

So this morning, I bought a WRT54G2 - just hung and EVERYTHING worked from the outset - including my FTP software.

My suggestion for buyers... avoid the 160N. I'm bummed I wasted $100ish on mine only to get the 2.5 use PITA.

  • Trouble with my router WRT110

Hello! All this problem started when I upgraded the machine I'm typing this on Windows 7 Ultimate.  No matter what I did, it wouldn't connect to the existing network. I finally found a way to connect by entering the identification number of the router, but it created a completely new network. My problem is here. I can create new networks open very well, but even if I try to create an encrypted network, it won't work - the computer does not detect the router. I need a network encrypted because I am required by law to have one in my business, and I have no idea how set up. The network is composed of this machine that I use a Macbook and a TiVo DVR, as well as my laptop which is being repaired. I might also add that I have a problem with the software that came with the router. Ideally, I would have a secure network with a password that is easily memorable so that can reach other machines. I spent many hours on this I'm really at a loss, and some instructions step by step would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

    ~ Eric

    1. you should always access the web interface via a wired connection. Through a wireless link, you can configure the router of your neighbor accidentally. And of course you should also never make changes on settings wireless via a wireless link. So, always use a wired connection only for this purpose.

    2. it does not affect your network as it is. It only changes the configuration of the router. If you change the configuration of the router wireless, of course, it will affect all existing wireless links to the router (if any).

    3. you must not choose a password "easily memorable. It's always a bad idea. The wireless password is usually only once entry on each wireless device to connect to the router. The wireless device usually remember the passphrase. Thus, it is best to choose a strong password, for example a random generated password longer. It is much safer.
