SACD in FLAC

As I just found out THAT WINDOWS MEADIA PLAYER seems to be the player onlt "straight out of the box" which plays SACDS and looks like he's going to rip em too, all good so far, but can rip 'em to the format FLAC on WMP like SACD quality is so much better that it would be a waste to go to MP3s. Please tell me is it possible I'm going to be so disappointed if I can't take the SACD of the DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, PINK FLOYD version with me instead of the issue of the standard. If ainb't you obtained this version of DSM then I recommend strongly that it's far better than any question of Pink Floyd CD other than the other SACD. Also, if I burn a back up, can I use a DVD-A disc, or I have to get a SACD disc player? Thanks for any help, Graeme.

Apple has software to convert files "flac" in mp3 so that I can listen to on my iPod/car etc

Edit: The Mac App Store shows also some applications, with a search on "convert flac."

  • XLD to convert FLAC ALAC?

I have a large collection of FLACs I want to convert to the ALAC, so I can play in iTunes.  I play to use XLD to do the job.

For more than ten years that I converted a file.  I don't know what software I used at the time, but I remember getting angry because when I transcoded files, he would sometimes mess up the gaps between songs.  Sort of classic plays and live concerts which segue into one another would suddenly have a short sound space between songs.

To this day, I don't know what I did wrong for 10 years and there is - or how make 100% sure that it can't now.

Listening to each album as I transcode (to confirm the specific deficiencies) is not an option, because the collection of FLACs I intend to convert is too large.  And Yes, I intend to delete the files FLAC after I transcode them, transcode so accurate is essential to the project.

I've heard of software that checks the CRC when extracting CD (although I have no idea what it means).  If I use XLD, does anyone know if there is a way to confirm each transcode from FLAC to ALAC, so I can be assured that the gaps are not be discarded until the song?

    John,

Are you sure that the ALAC is capable of preventing that?  Mp3 format explicitly rejects the possibility to avoid presenting these gaps audible in patterns between tracks, while FLAC argues that it is possible.  I've not heard one way or another on the ALAC.  If she can't, more precise transcoding in the world will always have the problem.

  • Why not is not FLAC supported by iTunes, please?

    Hello

a competent person from Apple can you please explain why FLAC is not supported in iTunes?

Given that I spent the MP3 to the FLAC, I stopped using iTunes it is precisely for this reason.

Since FLAC became de facto standard in music of rentals, is there possibility for Apple to review?

    Thanks in advance.

    Peace,

  • transfer library problems FLAC in iTunes

I just got a new MacBook Pro and I am trying to transfer my music to use with iTunes library. I used files FLAC with Foobar2000 in Windows. Now I use the 12.4.2.4 iTunes version.

So I put on the conversion of part of my music to Apple Lossless as a test. I searched the web for instructions. Almost all of the first results in Google are at least three years, then maybe I'm not aware of more recent problems. I ended up doing this with Foobar2000, by using the encoder of the ALAC. This has produced m4a files.

But iTunes does not recognize these files. I tried two ways.

    (1) import the existing folder to the root of my library of music together. It is always full of many files FLAC, but I was hoping that iTunes would recognize other (mp3 and m4a) files that are there now. Instead, appeared as mp3 files in my library.

    (2) change my iTunes media to be the folder file root of my existing music library (which is located on an external drive). Again, this has only recognized the mp3 files.

I wonder if there is an error in the converted m4a files that prevents to recognize their iTunes? How can I debug my work?

    Mike,

If the files are valid Apple Lossless files, iTunes will be able to import them.  I suspect that something is wrong with the release of Foobar2000.  You can try another converter, like Max.

  • FLAC file sharing between music on iPod touch apps?

I want to put music files FLAC on my iPod touch so I can play the same music in different applications to compare the apps.

iTunes allows you to move files to an iPod so that these files belong to a certain application. But with most large FLAC music files, I don't want to load a copy of sylvie in the appA and appB - would take a lot of disk space.

Looking for a way to put a file FLAC in a place where it can be seen by two applications.

Music applications that I have for this audit, the musical library of Apple, but iTunes won't import FLAC and I don't want to convert the files.

Simple suggestions for someone who is relatively new for iOS would be welcome. Thank you!

I don't know any way to do it since Apple really sandboxes every app.

  • Blu - ray and SACD

From this date (March 29, 2016), I see through research within this community and my own attempts, that the great Apple Drive efforts will not play even Blu - ray video/audio and SACD discs.  My Super ejected disk to format when I try to play them, but no message doesn't pop-up telling me what to do, especially if the pilots were available to read these types of discs.  The reason given in the most recent surveys here was that Apple has not allowed the technology to play one of these formats.  Is this still the case, or drivers have become available in recent years to play on the Super player I know?

    Thanks, Wade

Apple themselves do not always provide a solution to play Blu - Ray discs, they still include DVD player to play DVDs. There are some third-party programs but that will do it even if they are not 100% official Blu - Ray solutions. See the following topics.

    http://www.macblurayplayer.com/

    http://www.DVDFab.CN/Mac-Blu-ray-player.htm

    http://www.leawo.org/Blu-ray-player-Mac/

Note: Because that these solutions are "unofficial" in general, they have not the ability to display full and use the motion of the Blu - Ray disc menu and instead of this will simply play the main disk movie, second due the fact that Apple has not taken the trouble to add underlying OS x capabilities these programs are also not able to play the audio tracks of more high quality of discs Blu - Ray and either will play instead a track of lower quality or reduce a track of superior quality. (It still will be at least as good as a DVD disc audio.)

    Hello

The extension Flac (Free Lossless Audio Codec) isn't a type of supported Windows Media Player file. However, you can use your favorite search engine to find an application that can convert the file to a supported by the Windows Media Player file type.

    Thank you

    Brian

I don't know FLAC OGG, but specifically I use Media Monkey. I made the conversion from it, and made sure my settings were for that when I converted it created separate artist folders and subfolders for the Album, then monkey media to put Art as folder.jpg in the subfolders. Try this. Of if you have already converted files, then everything put all the subfolders and hit search Google for the title of the Album image, and then when you click right anc shoose save file as the name folder.jpg in the right place for your music.

  • Cannot read files Flac

    Hello

I have Sansa Clip Firmware version 02.01.32A and I am not able to read files flac. I have read most of the posts about this but still cannot load on my 2G clip. They are normal flac files with the extension .flac and play fine on my hard drive.

    Any suggestions?

I found the solution by searching in the posts more carefully.

I had the USB setting to auto and I changed it to 'MASTER '.

    Thank you.
