  FOUND THE SOLUTION!

  Went to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/?utm_source=firefox-com & utm_medium = referral Firefox and where it says "Refresh Firefox", just clicked on the button and it automatically does the rest.

  You can check if this problem is caused by an extension.

  Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  Try the keyboard on another Mac or PC. If it still fails, you know the keyboard is broken. You can also try the keyboard when it is started in recovery as a basic test mode.   Other threads suggested by disabling JavaScript solves this problem. To do this, go to settings > Safari > scroll down to advanced options > disable JavaScript.

  Ran into the same issue. It seems that Sierra is not any dictionaries installed. Start the Dictionary application and download the dictionaries that it provides. Once completed restart your machine or simply kill the process dashboard. The Dictionary widget will be fully functional.
