Network WiFi connection

Using a HP Pavilion and windows 8.1

I seem to have problems connecting to some (not all) public wifi.  recently I went on a campsite that had wifi complete and recorded a full bars on my screen, but could not connect breakfast and no sign of network was visibly.

I talked to the wifi operator who indicated that they had other connected without any problem which made me think it was me, or more specifically windows 8.1.

My wifi works perfectly at home and on many other sites, but sometimes it does not show a present network and it's frustrating

With the same laptop, I had connection issues wifi municipality in an apartment I have abroad, but when I had my own installed, it worked very well and in any case a very strong since routers signal... What's going on and how do I get over it..... ps I have competent but not a techie!

There is no reason that you shouldn't keep Windows 7.  I simply tell you that the wireless network device to your 4 year old laptop could be at fault.  AND, I've seen a lot of cell phones like that and discovered that a purchase of $20 can solve the problem completely and most often gives a better wireless reception that one actually built anyway.

There are probably a lot of measures to take in case of a problem, but you can spend days trying to find them in the same place (installation of a wireless USB device) in any case.  The device also offers the advantage of being portable to other computers.

This is an update "cannot be uninstalled." I did a restore of the system to the previous Thursday, and then to the previous week, without change in condition. . I powered completely off and on again several times, without success.

There is a note on the update for http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52261 - who takes me to a page with a bunch of stuff on the installation of a BizTalk adapter. • Problem getting my WiFi connection after the mode 'sleep'

After my computer wakes from sleep mode, I click on my WiFi network every time to get on the internet.  If I restart my computer, it detects my WiFi network and connects ok.  It's just at the time when it wakes from sleep.  I tried many solutions that people have posted for example to remove some files from my SystemConfig., but have had no luck.

    Hi joycefromil,

I understand that your Mac has problems automatically re-login to a Wi - Fi saved after wake up from its sleep. I can understand the concern here; It seems that it would be a bit tedious to have to re - connect manually whenever you wake your Mac from sleep. I'm happy to help you with this problem.

As a first step, try to remove your Wi - Fi network in the preferred networks list and then add again using the steps here:

macOS Sierra: choose the preferred Wi - Fi networks

Try to test for the problem to see if it persists. If so, I recommend that you try to start your Mac in safe mode and test for the issue. Once you're done test in safe mode, restart your machine normally and try test again to see if the problem has been resolved.

If the problem persists in safe mode, try to create a test on your Mac user account to see if the problem is here. This will help to further isolate the issue. Take a look at this Web site for more information:

  • Ranging from network WiFi problem

My current installation (works perfectly!) is:

-Airport Extreme (connected to a MacMini Server OSX)

    v

Airport Express (WiFi connection to the EPA as an extension of network)

Various devices are connected, air-conditioned and equipped with DHCP (Mac code) reservations, including the Airport Express.

I need to install another (new) Airport Express to extend the network in a room where I have very limited it WiFi reception.

Problem is that the new AE is not recognized by the Airport utility.

At first, I thought because of DHCP reservations so that I plugged the EA directly to the Airport Extreme.

Bingo: the Airport recognized the new AE utility, allowed me to update the firmware and did the configuration. Of course, as a wired connection. I was able to get the Mac address of the AE again.

After all this was done I disconnected the new Airport express, has made a necessary DHCP reservation for the new AE and tried if now, it connects to the WiFi. N °

    Only the orange light flashes.

Airport utility is showing the "old" set-up works perfectly (green dot) and the 'new' AE still cabled to the Airport Extreme, but with the message that it cannot find the device allowing me to 'forget '.

    What I am doing wrong?

I need to install another (new) Airport Express to extend the network in a room where I have very limited it WiFi reception.

Can confirm you that the AirPort Express Terminal will connect back to your main AirPort Extreme to extend the network? We ask this because Apple won't allow the network be extended twice.

Another way of saying the same thing is that you can have more than one airport, extend a wireless network, but each extension must be connected to the 'main' airport, not to another airport that is already set up to expand the network. This means that each extension would be at about the same distance from the main airport... and... ACH Extender must be closer to the main airport rather than another airport that already is the extension of the network.

    What I am doing wrong?

At this point, you configure the new extension unit to connect using a wired Ethernet connection, so the Express is programmed to expect a wired connection. When you remove the Ethernet cable, the Express can't find the link that he had been informed to use logging by using Ethernet.

The bottom line... implement you the Express way will connect to the network. If you want the airport to connect using an Ethernet cable, you set up this way.  If you want the airport to connect wirelessly, you cannot use an Ethernet cable to implement the Express.

But, first of all. We need clarification on the first question above... before... we approach overall to the top of the new Extender.

  • Why reset network settings affect networks WiFi on my Mac?

To try to solve issues with AT & T carrier update 24.2 IOS 9.3.2,and reset my network settings by suggestion from Apple If you can not connect to a cellular or cell - data Apple Support Network . As soon as I did, I looked at the WiFi signal on my MacBook Pro of retina disappear; and OS X then prompted me to reenter the information of my WiFi (no known network was available). I then checked my stored WiFi networks, and only attwifi and my work's current access point were (among many others who were already there).

I enjoyed the convenience of synchronization of my WiFi network on my iPhone and MacBook in recent versions of their operating systems. However, there was no warning that resetting the network settings on my iPhone would eliminate all networks on my MacBook Pro. There is also no warning on the page of the Apple website above of the present.

Is this a bug I should report? Since there is no mention of this side effect on the Apple documentation, I am inclined to think that it was not intentional.

  • I've never seen the cloud on my watch symbolizing the wifi connection.

I've never seen the cloud on my watch symbolizing the wifi connection. How to operate when phone and shows are on the same network?

    Hi, Kristian

If your Apple Watch is not connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, but it is within range of a WiFi (2.4 GHz) network your iPhone plugged in the front (while it was connected to your watch via Bluetooth), then your watch can connect to this network and still offer some features:

To check the status of the connection of your watch, go to the eye of parameters:

    • When displaying the time on your watch, slide up on the screen, then swipe left / right for the look of parameters.
    • This will specify connected or disconnected:
      • If it says connected and the icon in the upper right corner is a green phone, your watch is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
      • If it says connected, the icon is a green cloud, then your watch is disconnected from your iPhone via Bluetooth, but rather connected (as a backup) to a known Wi - Fi network.
      • If it is disconnected, your watch is disconnected from your iPhone and also is not connected to a Wi - Fi network. The icon in the upper right corner will be a red telephone with a line through it.
    • Slide down again to return to the watch face.

To test whether your watch is currently able to connect to a Wi - Fi compatible network known as a relief:

    • When within range of the network, turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone.
    • After pausing for a short time, check the status of the connection of your watch as described above.

  • How can I configure the order of networks wifi on my iPhone 6?

I was browsing the Internet and looking for throughout my general settings but I'm not able to find a way to configure the order of networks wifi on my phone, as I can with my MacBook Air (via Network Preferences > advanced > tab Wi - fi). I had to do a reset to the factory on my router settings and now my iPhone automatically connects to another wifi network in the building which is distant; and, as a result, poor reception. He will also choose my device Chromecast before my own router, so I have to go and manually choose my router every time.

Is my only option to "forget this network" for the device Chromecast and the other network wifi. Therefore, to move my router plus high in the list (and then add those two later, put further down in the hierarchy list), or y at - it a simple way to just change the order? Thanks for the help.

  • Why is my MacBook Pro cut wifi connection?

In recent weeks, my wifi connection has often declined, and I have to restart my MacBook Pro to have the wifi connection.

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch (end of 2011) and am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 version

I brought my computer to a Genius Bar, and someone had to watch. The guy helped me clean up my caches and adware which helped. It also helped me with existing Wifi preferences of trash again.

My computer worked fine after my visit to the Genius Bar and now almost a day later my wifi connection dropped again and I had to reboot my computer.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

    Maybe corrupt network preferences.

Open the Finder. In the Finder menu bar, click go > go to folder

Type or copy paste the following text:

    / Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click OK, and then move all files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the trash.

Restart your Mac. See if that makes a difference.

    Try the following steps please

The following actions and after each test to see if the issue is resolved - if yes, then you can omit the following steps - I tried to list them in ascending order of the effort at least on a Mac and / or an iDevice

    1. Check if the problem is related to a single device and if other devices connect normally-
    2. If the answer 1 is 'yes' - try to connect the device assigned to somewhere else if possible - coffee or the University
    3. Perform a forced - restart cela do not delete or purge all data and allows to solve many problems - here is how - press and hold the Off / On Home button and at the same time for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Allow normal startup upward.
    4. Settings - WiFi - < network name > - Click on forget network - do a restart forced according to 3 and then add again the network
    5. If home - reboot the router by unplugging it for 60 seconds (power) and the plug and reconnect - obviously, this step can be done in a public place like a cafe or airport or University. While you're there - make sure your router is working on the latest firmware (check manufacturer's website)
    6. Settings - general - reset - Reset network settings - remember to have very practical WiFi passwords because it erases the WiFi passwords
    7. If it is a new specific net device in your home - make sure that the router gives enough DNS for all numbers which must / wants a connection - stuff like the printer, Chromecast get overlooked - ask for more details on this so not sure option
    8. Backup the device to iTunes - restore as NEW (no) - see if solves problem - if yes - restore backup
    9. An appointment of 'Genius' to an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider.
