  We are aware of the problem and address it in a future release.  There seems to be a change in Safari, and if the symptoms are the same, the cause is probably different.

  In the meantime, you will need an alternative browser for debugging of content.  Firefox is probably the easiest option in this case.

• Monitor to freeze because of Adobe Flash Player?

  Recently, my monitor has frozen, display of parts of several different applications. When I ended up FrameMaker with Manager tasks, the monitor came back and I got this little thing of Windows that offers a solution to the problem online.   For a while, I was getting weird display what happens on the FM band, when I also did something in FireFox, usually on the pages used Flash.

  So I'm pretty sure that there is some use of Flash in FM, but between the many Flash (and the last FM) upgrade and sandbox plugin in FireFox, things are quiet.

  To answer your question, Yes, it would be prudent to stay up-to-date with Flash updates, but a person familiar with the innards would know exactly where the impact is. I guess the user interface, but that's just a guess.

  The script error is caused by the DPI setting on your system.  If the DPI setting is set to 100%, 125%, 150% or 200% Setup returns the script error. If your DPI setting is set to something else, please set it to one of these and Setup online should work.  To check/change the DPI setting:

  1. Start the control panel and go to control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display
  2. In the left menu, select set size custom text (PPP)
  3. In the Windows Setup custom DPI select 100%, 125%, 150% or 200% in the menu drop-down
  4. Click OK
  5. Select apply
  6. Open a session/disable
  7. Online installer should now run without displaying the script error.

  A fix for this should be released in the coming weeks.

  El Cap use for the day that it was released.  However, for these last months, the Safari has become more increasingly unstable.  It freezes often temporarily and then unlock.  Worse still, it freezes often completely to the point that my only option is to turn off the iMac.

  I tried to delete all the data of the Web site.  I have repaired permissions.  No change.  I open the Console and when my most recent gel, I saw this repeated message of the dozens and dozens of times:

  1. the present proceedings is a diagnostic test. It doesn't change anything for the better or worse and therefore, by itself, will not solve the problem. But with the help of the results of the tests, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.

  The test works on OS X 10.8 ("Mountain Lion") and later versions. I do not recommend running it on older versions of Mac OS X. It will do no harm, but it will not do not much good.

  10. the test may take a few minutes to run, depending on the number of files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that is abnormally slow may take more time to run the test. During execution, a series of lines is displayed in the Terminal window like this:

      The test results are on the Clipboard.

  I watch MLBTV on my computer and it uses flash player to run.  I have Apple TV and I can always get the games, but it would be great if I could once more watch it on my computer.

  I'm rather a computer neophyte when it comes to repairs, but I thought that maybe back to Yosemite as my operating system or perhaps using another browser (Chrome or Firefox) might alleviate the problems I am having with flash player.  Someone on this forum can help me to answer this question?  If so, I should of course advice on how to make one of the two solutions.

  Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

  Isolate a problem by using a different user account

  If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.
