  You are running Internet Explorer in 64-bit mode?  The Adobe Reader plugin is 32-bit and will not work on a 64-bit browser.

  You can try to select a pdf file in the finder. CTRL + click to see the menu and the information on the file. You should see the area of comments 'open with '.  Overview is probably designated as the default application to open this file type. Choose from the menu below what application you want to use to open the file. Once you have selected Adobe Acrobat, click on 'change '. This should then associate all your PDFs with this app.

  You can use the "write" default values using Terminal command to delete the thumbnails to open, copyand paste:

  in such a short, it seems to me we/you can use the "turn" - technical. I want to say this, where after some time the swap images are displayed, usually in the following seconds. Now, you are using hours, instead of seconds, as we know half a day to 12 hours, if it works in the same way, right?

  delay in milliseconds between the swap image 1000 = 1 second
  var delay = 5000

  Hey, I recently installed CS6, and everything worked great. So I thought...

  But today, I tried double clicking on a pdf file that I received an email and it seemed he was going very well open as normal, but it didn't.  I rebooted my machine thought he needed a reboot.  Still did not work.  Tried the other pdfs still nothing. I've always had Adobe Acrobat X Pro on my laptop and never had a problem.

  Does anyone know how to fix this?

  Can you please try the workflow suggested by Ashu in the answer above,

  Open some files with Acrobat, go to window-> Cascade-> tile and see if that opens PDF files.
