  Unless you have already tested the compatibility of your computer with Windows 7: -.

  Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - download [This can run on Windows XP, so it must be able to run on Vista]

  Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard - download [This can run on Windows XP, so it must be able to run on Vista]

  In addition to running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, you may want to run an equivalent for Windows 10.  Unfortunately, you will have to use a substitute because Windows 10 pre-staged at level [GWX] cannot run on XP so I guess it cannot work on Vista.  So, to launch the wizard to upgrade Windows 8 instead which doesn't work on Vista.  Windows 10 system requirements and Windows 8 system requirements are pretty much the same if the results will be useful.  The first versions of the system requirements of Windows 10 has also stated that the processor (CPU) must support SSE2, NX, EAP extensions, but I have never established if my CPU reaches this spec [I just know that it works fine] and I have absolutely no idea if this part of the obligation has become irrelevant or is simply omitted for brevity.

  It is worth to run the Upgrade Advisor, even if you have already decided to go and install the new OS.  At the very least they would warn you of the hardware components you need to pay attention to.  Later, you can get better drivers installing the OS gives you - where to find the hardware drivers.

  I realize that you do backups of all of your own files, files of installation of any applications that you downloaded and product keys for all your applications.

  I realize that you will also do an image of the system so that you can go back to square one if everything goes wrong.  You must also make sure that you have both made & tested the hot spare / boot disk required by your utility Imaging System.  Macrium Reflect is an imaging Center free I've seen many people recommend.

  I understand that your Photosmart Essential software has stopped working.  You tried to have the research of the computer for a solution without success.

  The Photosmart Essential software usually comes with the installation of the printer.  If you have your installation disc, try reinstalling from there.

  Here is a link to the HP Photosmart Essential software.  You will need to enter your model number and follow the instructions on the screen.

  If it worked before and you have not uninstalled the program, you could do a restore to where he worked.

  In IE 8, click Help > a way Internet Explorer.  It should say "strength of encryption: 128-bit."  In other words, you already have 128-bit security.  These high encryption Packs were for older versions of IE.

  Windows XP does not include the necessary cryptographic providers for the 256-bit encryption level. Windows Vista and Windows 7 are supported 256-bit encryption level.

  2. were you able to download photos before without any problem?

  3. where are the photos?

  4. you receive messages or error codes when you try to access all photos?

  Method 1:

  Disable or rather uninstall your antivirus and other security software installed and try to import. If this helps you to navigate to the desired folder and get the photos uploaded, this would indicate that the setting of firewall/antivirus blocking you to exert the action. You may need to configure some settings in the software to allow the same.

  Note: The computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.

  Method 2:

  You can try to disable add ons and check if it helps:

  Step 1:

  Run Internet explorer with no Add - ons. Steps to open Internet with no mode of modules:

  a. click on start

  (b) in the search box, type in Internet explore

  c. Select Internet (no add-on mode)

  If you were able to access the Web site without any problems, then the module may cause the error.

  Step 2: Measures to determine which add-on may be the cause of the error

  a. open Internet explorer.

  b. click on tools, click on Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or disable add-ons

  c. in the list view, click Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all add-ons.

  d. click on the Add-ons that you want to activate, and then select Enable.

  e. Repeat steps above for each module that you want to activate.

Sometimes only for a few configurations downloads starts but is too slow, about 9 kb/sec. I tried with different PC but the problem remains.   The HP site seems to work very well as I just downloaded on it without problem.

  You are able to download from other sites?

  Have you tried using another browser to download?

  Have you tried running The HP Support Assistant to retrieve updates?

  Have you checked your firewall and virus checker setting to make sure it is not blocked?

  It could also be a firewall on your router setting.

  Have you tried to download from a hotspot or maybe a friends house?

  If you are unable to download the software desired, try another computer to download on a USB and then install the updates.

  After installing the updates, you have the same problem?
