Same updates installed several times on close

Original title: Auto update on stop

I have XPpro/SP3/IE8 and all MIcrosoft updates.   I find that on stop the same 3 elements are auto-installé several times. They are all elements of the framework .net and so can take up to 10 minutes to stop.  I would appreciate a solution

Hi Danielarbib,

You have the numbers KB (Knowledge Base) updates?

If the same updates are installed on several occasions, there are two probable root causes:

·        An error occurred during the installation. The update has not been installed.

·        The update has been installed. However, a file was not updated to restart the computer.

To resolve this issue, please see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article below.

Troubleshooting Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are repeatedly offered an update

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/910339

I hope that the problem will be resolved.

Kind regards

Why do I have to install the same update over and over when it say it is installed

    Follow the troubleshooter listed Zhang.

It is possible that a file was not updated.  First of all, check that the kb update has been installed by going to View installed updates in Control Panel

Go to start > all programs > Windows Update

Check for updates if updates pre-installed reappear, right-click on it and select hide.

  • Same printer install several times

I use a laptop and so I don't always have my connected printer.  Whenever I plug in my printer to use, Vista considers it as a brand printer and installs it again anywhere.  I had several copies of my printer here at once.  How to prevent this from happening because it's very annoying.
    Thank you!

    Hello ehaily,

When a device is connected to a new port for the first time, the device driver is recovered by the system and then installed. It may not make much sense, but it happens. However, this should really be a 'behind the scenes' process, and you should not see multiple entries when you go to Control Panel > Printers.

So, I'd like to point you to the information provided on another post found here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistahardware/thread/e796c318-86fe-4a3e-8fff-a736334166b5. If you are comfortable with troubleshooting, he will guide you through manually remove the system printer. Once completed you can then download the "current" package from your printer manufactures website.

  • Photos 1.3 "JDK 8 Update 73" shows under the heading import on the left.  I also have a pop up telling me to install it in safari.  Have already installed several times.  Any ideas?

Photos 1.3 "JDK 8 Update 73" shows under the 'Import' section on the left.  I also have a pop up telling me to install it in safari.  Have already installed several times.  Any ideas?

Looks like pictures which I assume you mean Apple's application to view and edit photo files is a 'disk' called JDK 8 update 73 ad.

This implies that you have downloaded and mounted a "disk image file" for the update of Java and it is always 'mounted '. However the fact that you are still being harassed to install it in Safari implies that you have not run the update of Java installation package that must be inserted into the drive.

Then, go back to the Finder and look for a drive in a window of Finder called "JDK 8 updated 73'. Click on that in the window of the Finder and the window should then list the contents of this disc. In this list should be something obviously to do with the installation, most of the installation files have an extension of the .pkg file, it could be called 'update Java 8 73.pkg. Double-click or open the pkg file and follow the instructions.

Try to re-sync and see if that solves the problem.  Your e-mail may be trapped and unable to move from the Outbox to the sent items - and re-synchronization can it empty.

    I hope this helps.
