So to turn off every time. Then you know the etc SafeMode Somehow got Samsung recovery CD provided with the laptop in 2011. Don't know if I did it correctly. Hello

    A restore to factory normally wipes the hard drive clean of everything except at the start of the recovery process, it asks you if you want to perform a non-destructive recovery.

    And it is irreversible.

    Normally, the destructive recovery will wipe a malicious software.

  • Download W8 recovery image

    Dear Sir

    I have a Samsung Ativ Book 4 delivered pre-installed with Windows8. (Not W8.1)

    Due to problems with the hard drive, I had getting a new hard drive. (Samsung claims my warranty worth no more because I resized the partition windows for dualbooting purposes).

    My problem is: there is no disk recovery with my laptop, so I think that has picked up the 40 GB partition hidden on the hard drive of old. Unfortunately, this hard drive is as dead as it can get.

    I tried to install a W8 from another source, but the problem I encounter is that most versions of Windows are already W8.1 and my key is valid only for W8.

    My question: does anyone know what to do to install new W8? (for example I can download an official picture somewhere?)

    Thank you very much

    My computer is a Samsung NP-R20Y with Samsung recovery 2, I tried its basic function of restoration but it doesn't work. I don't want to use the full restore because there are some data that I have not saved.

    I tried using the recovery of Microsoft disk downloaded from the internet and after a mistake of fixing and using other functions such as system restore and startup repair and also try start command line repair but nothing doesn't work and still the same error message.

    I think do a full restore now, but I don't want to lose all the data, is it possible to back up my data to an external drive such as a USB key using the command prompt?

    If not, is it possible to restore the Boot Manager?

    Please help and thank you

    original title: error: 0xc000000d - unexpected error occurred __How to back up my files, even when the computer cannot start, but have access to the command prompt

    Data recovery:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and try to read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and try to read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, try to use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When finished, turn off the system and remove the USB
  • Zero/upgrade old computer reset caused by viruses
    I recently got an old computer, a laptop Samsung NP-N210 32 bit system model that was purchased in 2009 and only has not been used since 2014, who had HIV and perhaps other things like malware, so I used a lot of antivirus software and uninstall programs to try to fix it the best I could. Now, it seems that the majority of issues have disappeared, but I think that reset the PC would be the best option to remove any thing left but I do not have a backup OS. I tried to download from Microsoft, but the code at the bottom of the computer did not work and I do not have a disk of windows backup 7. Also, I don't see the model of the computers on the Samsung website. Because of this I tried to see if the update to windows 10 would work, because it creates a backup that allows the PC to be reset, but whenever I start it, it can't go beyond the upgrade/obtain conclusion part. I also want to state that there is some pictures and other things I didn't wan't lose but if the solution through the ability to remove media while you'll be fine.
    I backed up my files and used the 4 Samsung recovery solution to reset. It seems to work now.
  • Update interrupted - now cannot start Windows
    Hello
    Completely new to this forum and in the world of the system recovery / technical questions will therefore be very grateful for any help that you can offer but please keep clear answers.
    I am running windows 7 on a Samsung laptop about 3 years. During the last weeks I had problems with the battery. When not plugged in the laptop sometimes turned off and the error messages pops up saying occasionally replace the battery. I now only use it plugged into the mains. However, yesterday, when I tried to stop, windows installed updates and the wall socket, broke off. To my horror, the computer turns off so that the update (1 of 31).
    Now, I can't start windows. See below what I tried so far without success.
    Tried to load Windows normally. Key start-up windows screen and then error blue screen and restarts.
    Tried to select recovery at startup option. Through repair screens. Asked if I would restore the system to an earlier era. Tried by selecting Yes and no at this point. So yes, message says not able to repair and asks if I want to send an error message. In the absence, said also unable to repair.
    Tried to start in safe mode. As above - will from the screen windows and error, then blue and restarts.
    Tried to insert the Samsung recovery cd. When the computer starts. Press the key to load from cd. This goes to a windows install page (select language, etc.). Seems to be saying that if I do that I'll lose files?  So not go one more away.
    Have you tried pressing f8 and repair different, but process as well as above - unable to repair.
    I myself am kicking to not fix the battery problem, but I never thought it would happen. In any case, I have a recent backup of most of the files, so not a total disaster, but I would like to save some recent if possible files. The only other option I see is to remove the hard drive and buy a USB connector stada (?) and try to transfer as an external drive. How difficult is cela and what connector do I need? Understand you can not recommend a product, but is there something specific I should look for, and what are the differences between the cheapest and most expensive? Are there more reliable / brands of higher quality that I should look for? Also, if I do this, can I then replace the hard drive and reinstall windows, and it's going to work?
    I have no knowledge of the BIOS so not sure I can try relating to the recovery of base?
    Will be very grateful if someone could help it. I can post more detailed error codes / logs later when I'm in front of a computer if you need.
    Hello
    Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community and your efforts to resolve the issue is highly appreciated.
    According to the description of the problem, you cannot start your Windows 7 computer. This could be if there is a corruption of system files or boot files are missing or damaged.
    I suggest that you want to run auto repair with installation media and see if it helps you repair system files or not. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.
    Method 1
    When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.
    Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair, and if this does not help then you try to restore your computer to the previous date.
    Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
    If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.
    Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)
    Method 2
    If the problem persists, try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool. To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start the recovery Windows (WINRE) environment . To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    3. Click repair your computer.
    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.
    See the following link for more information:
    How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows
    Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
