  Do one of the parameters was count of how many times it has been queued.  You will need to follow the count separately and pass it as a parameter.  You could also include a timestamp as a parameter to say when it has been queued.  If you cannot convey a parameter, to a cluster with the elements being your normal setting, County and timestamp.  You must write a Subvi survey that takes care of incrementing the account and update the timestamp.  Then call the Subvi instead of the survey function normal.

• Cisco C240-M4SX / 12G SAS Embedded Raid Controller Queue depth Reporting resulting in ESXi 6.0

  All,

  We have been a customer of vSAN VMware 6.0 for the last 6 months of our environment entirely on servers of Cisco C240 M4SX with the Cisco 12 G SAS integrated Raid Controller.   Everything in the environment was working well until we started to bring in data warehouse loads in the environment and began to notice performance around latency of disk and most important issues still outstanding IO high.  After that ESXtop and ESXCFG examination we found that the length of the queue announced to the adapter ESXi has been only 234 however the VMware HCL Announces 895; 234 is below minimum spec of 256 to correctly implement vSAN.  We have worked diligently with VMware on it to try different versions certified and non certified driver async for this raid controller in addition to the most recent firmware for the raid controller.  Regardless of the change of the depth of the queue remained 234.  The presence of FBWC affect the depth of queue announced to the operating system?  VMware support has indicated that it is clearly a problem "hardware".  Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

  Had the chance to spend some time in the laboratory and removed the cache module.

  After that, I now get "207", so I would say it's confirmed that 1,2,4 GB cache modules are used to increase the depth/length of the queue for these controllers.

• Configure task tasks simultaneous/queue of customer?

  At this moment I can highlight several virtual machines and perform an operation on them (for example, to migrate Dastores or Suspend / Power On), but the tasks all run them simultaneously, which really hurts performance (all LUN SAN FC thrashes for a stop and users start to complain). In extreme cases the tasks even begin to expire and fail.

  Is there a setting in the Client that will force it to occur in the order of the tasks (e.g., a depth of 1 queue)? Currently I'm right click on each of the 373 MV one by one and wait for everyone in the end, who is getting old fast.

  Not that I'm aware of use the vSphere Client, there is a maximum for each type of operation that is defined in the maximum Configuration of vSphere for vCenter or ESX (i).

  Although the only way to create a queue is through a script approach where you can either kickoff n-tasks and wait to send more, or perform a sequential operation.

  Following the instructions of 1267 KB: VMware KB: change the depth of the queue for Brocade HBA QLogic and Emulex chains of command to change the queue depth queue unit logic of the HBA number listed, as well as the string to verify your changes.

  When you try to check for recent changes to the queue depth using the command, I'll have nothing else to empty values in the output upward.

  Most likely you see not all outuput, could be due to the drivers PROVIDED with Windows.

  As far as I know, this depth of queue of LSI supports up to 600 but I when I change the attribute cmd_per_lun on the megaraid module, it works not and im still get 128 in each path.

  the depth limit of queue for a single device for all LSI controllers, I've seen is 128 or 256, depending on how you use the card. (RAID0 vs Passthrough) http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2014/04/17/disk-controller-features-and-queue-depth/

  Depth of queue of the controller will be higher because it will have to be able to queue that more IO then a single hard drive can queue. In addition, the controller is not on the HCL today, keep this in mind as support can be problematic.

  You probably need to run the McAfee removal tool since McAfee sometimes leave the remains of its programs of security on computers after being uninstalled.  Sometimes these slash that much interfere with other programs.

  I'm trying to establishing an environment that is / will be an iSCSI SAN backend entirely.  I know of a lot of reading that the best practice is to config the ESXi host with:

  VMKernel > vmnic > physical network adapter > switch ports > port on SAN (config 1:1 - no grouping of vmnic)

  Environment:

  ESXi 4.1 & 5.0

  Force10 switches

  EqualLogic iSCSI SAN (PS4000 & 6000)

  Here's my real question (playing the Devil's advocate):

  Why I shouldn't team 3-4 vnmics on a vswitch with multiple vmkernel ports?

  Given my environment.  Can someone point me to a technical document that explains what will / could happen if I set up the environment ESXi in this way?

  So, basically, we want the SAN to take full responsibility for the failover instead of the network and/or the SAN for who should resolve the failure (which could lead to the time of restitutio in integrum longer session).   I understand that correctly?

  Yes, that's right, we want to stack storage for vSphere manage with path selection and tipping - and by connecting each vmknic directly to the physical vmnic map we sort of "simulate" how to CF cards and also ignores the network failover mechanisms. As you probably know you also need to "bind" the iSCSI Software to the two vmnic (GUI now in 5.0, esxcli in 4.x)

• Site/SAN continuous fault tolerant Site/SAN

  We have a client who is seeking the following expected results.

  1. He has several Web servers and a SQL Server that it houses a ton of jpg (over 2 GB) and grow about 500 g/day

  2. he wants to place its jpg files on a Dell EqualLogic SAN on his site

  3. he wants to have a failover site that replicates as fast as it can get data on its current SAN on his site

  Here's the question: If install us an EqualLogic SAN to its location off site and implement the SAN replication with Site Recovery Manager (since its offsite location is in another State), it will be able to replicate its data/files jpg every 15-30 min?  AND, where its site is a disaster, the remote site can locate production a few minutes so that its operation is not disrupted?

  If so, how this is done?  Require an Enterprise + licenses to encorporate FAILOVER operations?

  First of all, a disclosure. I work for Neverfail.

  There are some other points to consider

  (1) don't forget 'restoration', how will be displaced operations back to the original site?

  (2) Neverfail has in-band, de-duplication WAN acceleration function that could help with the limitations of bandwidth.

  (3) are all applications on physical servers involved. SRM will only failover virtual machines.

  If you are using vSphere/ESX4, you can grow a VMFS after push you your underlying logic unit number.  You couldn't do this before with earlier versions of ESX.

EMC support told me they see QFULL conditions, which means that the SAN can catch up with the number of applications. • Center of Windows security, firewall and defender will be not turn on?

  I can not turn Windows Vista 32 bit SP2 or Windows Defender Security Center or Windows Firewall. All services are also missing: Center security, firewall, Windows Defender and Windows. Also my BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) was also missing.

  I get error 0 x 80070422 when I try to run Defender. I have no problem when you try to run the Windows Firewall. I have could not start the Security Center when I try to open it.

  , I ran an in depth with AVG and ran Adaware scan and nothing showed up. I also ran a fix of batch file from another topic that was supposed to restart these services and who restarted the service BITS, but still no luck with the Defender, firewall or Security Center. I turned off AVG free version (no built in firewall) and still no luck. I also ran a Microsoft fix for the Windows Firewall and it just hung and never finished. As far as I can tell that it continues to receive windows updates, 16/05/12 was his last.

  It's my dads PC and I don't know when this started. I installed AVG and Adaware when it 1st had the PC 2 years ago.

  All that I really care is that it has the Windows Firewall running it is already using the free version of AVG, but it has no firewall. My question is, is it possible Microsoft Security following summer not included in the previous version of Vista before service packs? Adversely, if possible, so I just tried to download the windows firewall or the whole of MS Security Center?
