SATA III in Dell Vostro 3560?

I would remove the DVD or HARD disc in Vostro 3560 and put in an SSD instead.

The DSS requires connection SATA III to reach its peak performance level.

I know that the 3560 Vostro HARD disk is SATA II and the DVD is SATA I.

Question: Is one of them connected to the SATA III on the motherboard?

Hi Lukcio,

The Vostro 3560 has a SATA 2.0 port but most of the SATA 3.0 drives are backward compatible.

    Hey Dell.

    I just new DELL Vostro 3560 i7 3612QM/8/500 + 32/Win 8/money.

Windows 8 seemed to be completely Basic (no chance to join in the work area or languages for the user interface), so I just deleted it with the installation from scratch of the normal mode of Windows 8 Professional VLC to my company. My experience of this type of activity is started at 21 (from Windows 3.0).

All fine except there is more no SSD of 32 GB. Windows 8 can see only 8 GB SSD drive (not assigned).

Same time in the BIOS, I can still read «32 GB of SSD SAMSUNG»

    What I did:

    1. Installer Windows 8 Pro to Boot DVD.
2 remove the old partitions as usual.
    3. install on HDD cool.
    4. do not touch anything in the BIOS.
    5. provided Dell's HARD disk drivers support site (from the sales of Dell Vostro 3560).

As a result, I can't activate TSRI (it worked in initially provided Windows 8 Basic and I saw for sure 8 + 22 GB of SSD it used for TSRI).

Looking online I found another cool affected person (even though he uses another OS) with identical symptoms:
    http://UbuntuForums.org/showthread.php?t=2113602

What should I do to force the Vostro to provide me with 32 GB SSD back again? All the goal I had when selection given powerful laptop computer was linked to the TSRI function, otherwise, I didn't need it.

Please let me know the solution.

    Kind regards
    Sergey.

  • Vostro 3560 fan problem

    Hello

I have a brand new Dell Vostro 3560.

CPU fan works constantly, even when the CPU is very low. The noise is terrible! There is no software installed new one win7, latest version of the bios DELL A13 and all the latest drivers (chipset, video card, etc.).

I made and passed to CPU fan diagnosis (restart-> F12-> diagnosis). Speed of the processor FAN is reported 4600 RPM.

Please indicate how to solve this problem!

    Thank you in advance!

I'm not an engineer, but I think it's because you increase the surface + the copper sheet can have a more high propensity to hold heat so remove some away from the target.

100 c sounds rediciulous. Certainly look clean your fan + reapply thermal paste.

Mines were running at a normal web surfing 40 stable c, 50 c, watch a movie and 60 c, play games like Civ 5 at low temperature.

  • Contradictory information between the Dell Support & manual - SATA ii Vs SATA iii

I scoured the search on the net with various keywords and found no solid documents on this subject.  So, I'm here to confirm if my laptop has capacity SATA 3.   According to the dell online repair (E6420 lattitude), this system comes with a Sata 2 SSD (which is what I have currently on my laptop).  I found a reference in my research where support DELL said clearly that this system is capable of SATA iii support.   See the links below for confirmation:

Dell thread support forum - final post shows Sata iii speeds are possible.

Moreover, I found people guess and SATA 3 SSD running on E6420.  The maintenance manual itself says nothing about the speed level (SATA 2 or 3).   Is it possible to confirm that people get SATA 3 speeds on this laptop?  I know that my new SATA 3 SSD is backward compatible with SATA 2.  My new Samsung EVO 850 SSD is capable of SATA 3, and I need to optimize it for higher speeds, if indeed I can confirm that this computer is able to reach SATA 3.

Currently, it is the speed that I see on my new SATA 3 SSD, without even running AHCI.

No help from this forum. So I wanted to publish my own answer, found through my upgrade and benchmarks.  Latitude E6420 is able to support SATA 3 speeds.  But you won't get the full benefit and the speed of SATA - iii if you run nothing less than Windows 7.

  • Boot Dell Optiplex 3010 for controller SATA III card

I upgraded my office 3010 to SSD for the boot drive and it worked very well for the SATA II ports on the motherboard.  I installed a Syba SATA III controller card and it is visible in Device Manager and doesn't show any errors.  When I connect the SSD boot to the controller card, the system doesn't see a bootable disc.  I'm not familiar with UEFI in the GUI of the BIOS so I don't know how to make a new section that will work.

No boot UEFI without paying fees to microsoft for the certificate in the bios.

Legacy of the CSM is the only way to 3rd-party storage Option ROM to boot.

Once we get to class 3 Bios Legacy is gone! Fresh start prevents loading not sure $Microsoft paid bootloader.

I recommend you to try the following steps to check the USB ports. First of all I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling concentrators root USB from Device Manager. Please follow the steps below to reinstall the USB root hubs:

    • Click Start, in start search type Device Manager and press ENTER.
    • Expand Bus USB controllers.
    • Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click on uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    • Restart the computer and check.

If the USB ports still do not work, please click the link below and download the USB 3.0 host controller.

  • Dell Vostro 430 sometimes breaks down and does not find the hard drive in the bios

So I have this old - ish Dell Vostro 430, intel cpu, windows 7 hard disk sata 250 GB, 4 GB of ram.

Update BIOS to the latest version 2.4.0

In certain exceptional circumstances, this PC sometimes crashes in windows, it is restarted, and then when he comes back it does not find the hard drive as a gift. He is not seen in the bios and does not start.

To fix, I have to unplug the power cable, wait a few seconds, plug in, reboot the computer and it starts normally, load windows and everything.

So far, I have tried to paginate on another hard disk, reinstall the Windows operating system from scratch, and same thing happens from time to time.

It is difficult to find the cause of the problem, because this happens very rarely.

Sometimes, when the pc is turned on for the first time in the morning, the hard drive is not found by the bios and we reappear at the same trick (disconnect the power cable) to take him back.

When it crashes when using inside Windows, it seems that the reason is the computer can't find the hard drive.

Such computer is out of warranty.

It would be nice to just throw this computer because it is still fine for the work it has to do, + I have Windows and Office OEM license on it, as well as many other software that I have to reinstall etc.etc.

No idea what I could troubleshoot?

Maybe change the motherboard? How can I buy a new motherboard for an out of warranty Dell?

While possibly keeping all the OEM licenses (Windows 7 and Office 2007).

But even if she asks, there should be a sticker somewhere on the PC with your unique product key so you can enter if the installer made the request.

  • Dell Vostro 200 Slim Tower - for SSD Samsung 850 Evo BIOS settings

Hi - I am looking to replace the HARD drive in my Dell Vostro 200 Slim Tower with a Samsung SSD of 850 EVO.  I am running the BIOS 1.0.16 and do not see the option AHCI, RAID or IDE only.  Should what BIOS settings I use to optimize the performance of an SSD benefits?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I could get my SSD working under RAID (10 Windows) with the following steps (which some may not be necessary).

    1. MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable 9 CD to clone a copy of the existing for the Samsung SSD HDD (Samsung data migration tool did not acknowledge the Samsung SSD on Windows 10, even though Device Manager it identified as such).  It took nearly 36 hours to clone froma 160 GB 250 GB HDD to the SSD.
    2. Replace HDD with SSD and it started / worked as an IDE drive.  TRIM has been activated and works.
    3. Apply the hotfix to the register noted in the first post of this thread (it may or may not be necessary):
      1. http://forums.HEXUS.NET/motherboards/112584-how-enable-AHCI-RAID-mode-without-reinstalling-Windows-P35-ICH9-ICH9R.html
    4. Downloaded the Intel Matrix Storage Manager 7.5.0.1017 A00 (which is appropriate for the Vostro 200 Slim Tower) from the Dell Web site and run the extracted exe file on the disk.
    5. Opens the folder where the drivers have been extracted and made a right click > install iaahci.inf and iastor.inf files.
    6. Restarted the PC, went into the BIOS and changed the IDE in RAID mode.
    7. When the system is booted, I received the message "Inaccessible Boot Device", so I let the system automatically restarts, go through the automatic recovery/repair options, then follow the guests to launch the advanced Windows options recovery to start in safe mode.
    8. Once in safe mode, I opened the Device Manager, which now showed the following new features:
      1. Disc players

        1. SAMSUNG SSD 850 EVO 500G
      2. Storage controllers
        1. Intel(r) ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID Controller
        2. Microsoft storage controller
    9. The system is then able to start and be used normally.
    10. There are still problems with the Samsung Wizard software, but it seems that it is a matter of Samsung.

Hope this is useful to someone.

    Lonetrapper

This is false, as a greater power supply and can be installed.

Generic standard ATX power supplies, with a 24-pin or 20 + power connector 4 - pin main motherboard, with or without the on/off switch, would be compatible with the Vostro 220 Mini-Tower.

You should be able to buy a compatible power supply either a local computer or online store.

Need a power supply with four SATA power connectors.
