  I swapped the MK3018GAS in my SA30 for a MK8025GAS without any problem at all. I think the only difference between the 8025 and the 8026 is the rotation speed (5400 RPM against 4200 RPM).

  The start of the external USB CD/DVD drive is not possible because the BIOS does not support this. The BIOS supports booting from USB FDD (diskette).

  If you want to install Windows XP on this unit without the use of the CD/DVD drive, then you should copy the i386 to the HARD disk folder (folder i386 disk Win P is).
  Then you could start by using a boot disk and run the winnt.exe which is placed in the i386 folder.
  This would start the Windows XP installation and installation of the OS.
