Satellite A100-332 & Orange/Wanadoo livebox

Hello

I just bought a laptop Satellite A100-332 as an upgrade of an old book. I seem to have real problems with the new laptop and the Orange/Wanadoo livebox. Here's the situation:

As well the old laptop running a card PCMCIA Wifi 802 11 b/g and my desktop computer running a PCI Wifi card have no problem at all to connect to and use of the livebox. The livebox is running with WEP security enabled, as well as the built-in mac filter.
With the Toshiba laptop, I see the Livebox in the list of available wireless connections, but whenever I try to connect to it, she has real problems. I checked all the basic things like 'is the correct WEP key' and 'it using the appropriate channel,' and of course 'is active wifi on the laptop. It gets to the point where, if you use Windows Zero Configuration (I also tried this process several times with Toshiba Wifi tools), it is said he tries to get an IP address, and then it of just there and never really connects.

Please can anyone advise as to what this may be? Are there drivers wifi update for this model of laptop I maybe need to install which could 'fix' it? Is that someone else, or someone else had problems with this laptop and the livebox?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Concerning
Bob

Hello

I checked the advanced search option in the WLAN category with terms Orange Livebox and many topics are listed. Of course many users with different laptops models have the same problem as you.

See these topics. Maybe you will find something interesting and useful.

  • Satellite A100-332 always displays the same message at startup

HI - get the message "press F2 for system utilities or press F12 for the boot' at the start of my Satellite A100-332. I can press F2 but it'll constantly 'Please wait '.
F12 does nothing. So I'm stuck!

I read the various threads suggesting place, remove the battery, reinstall the battery, but which does nothing no more. To be fair that the battery had fallen about 20 min charge now before this problem appeared, but there is definitely power with the power supply connected.

Anyone able to help me with this?

  • Need information information and drivers for Satellite A100-332

I recently bought a laptop satellite A100-332, but I can't find information on the websites of Toshiba or in search engines. Could someone help me please, any suggestions welcome.

To my knowledge the Satellite A100-332 has a number PSAA8E-xxx and you must choose the A100 PSAA8E section pilots.
Do not forget that you are using the installation order appropriate during the installation of the driver manually.
For the most part an installation instruction should be available on the driver page and you will find more information about the order of installation.

    Good luck buddy

  • Re: Question for Toshiba Satellite A100-332 recovery

I want to format and reinstall windows to its plant as its really slow-running state. I do not remember to have a recovery on buying cd and said that I just need to push an F key on boot up, file recovery is on the hard drive. Is this correct?

No it's not correct. On this laptop more old model Toshiba didn't offered HARD drive recovery image. Recovery image is recorded on DVD. When you want to install the recovery image using recovery DVD media you can use the F button to start.

To install the HARD drive recovery (if it is saved on the HARD drive), there is another way to achieve this.
So what you can do is to order the original recovery media or install the operating system using the Microsoft CD/DVD facilities.

  • Satellite A100 does not power up - LED orange flashing but nothing else

My Satellite A100 laptop fell on the couch and now wont power up,

I get a flashing orange LED but nothing else.
This only happens with the AC adapter is plugged and not with the battery.

What can I do to solve this problem and what should I watch?

    Hello

Try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Wait a while (> 2 hours) and then reconnect the two parts.
If the laptop still not, will fuel even using a good power adapter and the battery in good condition, the problem could be related to the problem RAM or the motherboard.

You should also try to delete one (or two modules if you have some spare parts) module of RAM and should try to turn on the laptop.

    Good luck

    Hello

The battery rest light color Orange/orange and the battery symbol on my task bar constantly States ' 87% available (plugged in, load). I'm connected. If I remove the card, the computer is de-energized immediately.

I tried a new original Toshiba 'Battery', but I had the same problem. The only difference is that the battery symbol on my task bar constantly States "70% available (plugged in, load).

I checked the battery contacts and the computer, they look very good.

    What should I do?
Should I install the drivers? Or could it be the motherboard?

Try to start computer laptop without battery and put in place when the OS is fully charged. The same thing happens again? Unfortunately I think that it will not be the difference.

What happens when the laptop is turned off? Battery can be fully charged (green LED)?

  • Satellite A100-225: battery power light flash orange

Last night, plugged my AGES of NINE DAYS by Satellite A100-225, the lights were on, it was working fine.

This morning, woke up, lights were turned off, tried to turn it on, the battery power button flashed light Orange.

Tried to play with the cable by plugging it into other outlets that I knew worked, nothing helps.

Have tried to start without the battery in it, without success.

Unless there is a function that can prevent from starting somewhere, I don't know what to say. This computer is nine days old, and I do not understand how something can just wrong all night.

Adding info if necessary - computer was on when I went to sleep, and was running Mozilla Firefox and WinAMP.

    Hello

Perhaps the unit automatically goes in standby mode or hibernation?
On this device, the automatic system standby/hibernation has been reinstalled. This function automatically stops the system when there is no input or material of access for a specified time. You can specify the time and select System standby or hibernation in the base of the Toshiba power saver settings tab.

In addition, if the battery LED is flashing it means that the battery charge is low. The adapter must be connected to the battery.
If it of not possible to charge the battery, so there are several possibilities: the battery could be dead, the AC adapter doesn't work or there is something wrong with the hardware of the laptop.

Try disconnecting the battery several times and then connect.

But according to your ad you tried a procedure and it doesn t work. So I think you should ask the ASP in your country to help.

  • Re: Satellite A100-811 main battery indicator is OFF

    Hello

I have a toshiba satellite a100-811 and the problem is the following:
When it is plugged in, the main indicator should be blue (full load) or orange (charge).
Now it is off (no light at all).

I unplugged DC and back is plugged and the fire was orange for a few seconds and then went off again. Battery is charged at 99%.

What is a battery or a motherboard problem?
The laptop is old. Should I be backing up my files?

    > Should I be backing up my files?

You should always have a backup of your files in case something bad happens to your laptop or HARD drive.
But the battery issue would not affect your files directly.

    However, try this:
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Now hold down the power button / stop along 30 sec.
Then, plug the battery and plug in the AC adapter and check if the battery indicator would be IT.

But I think that if the laptop is still running even if the AC adapter is not connected, then the battery should be ok

  • Satellite A100 PSAA9C does not work without the battery inside

    I'm having a strange problem with a laptop Satellite A100 (PSAA9C-SK900E).

The machine will not work without the battery in it. If the power supply is connected in the machine and the wall, it will power without the battery installed. If I install the battery, let it load completely (battery LED goes from orange to blue and the plug LED is blue) then start the machine it will work for a period of time (more than an hour depending on what I'm doing) then suddenly turns off.

If I restart the machine, it will work for a very short period (sometimes only for a few minutes) just before going off.

If I do this a couple times, the machine will be not even by post before turning off.
If I let the machine to recharge, it runs for a while and then do the same thing after using it for a while.
If the battery is pooched, which is fine with me. How to operate with only the power supply of the machine?

As I type this I'm suspecting that the adapter cannot be taken out the required voltage/amperage. (adapter is not still hot when charging, are my other laptops) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

If I understand your assignment, the laptop does not power up without the battery
But it will light if the battery is connected.

The question is; Is the power led on if the AC adapter is plugged?
If this isn't the case, then it means that the power adapter is faulty and so the laptop cannot be turned on by using only the AC adapter.

I think you should test a new adapter. Maybe it helps!

  • Satellite A100-499 - function for the WiFi button does not work

    Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 499 PSAA9E.

I formatted my laptop and installed XP with SP3. I downloaded and installed the drivers (in the right order) for this OS of the toshiba - Europe.com and everything is going well except Fn + F8. It is assumed that this combination has toggle Wifi & Bluetooth. When I switch side 'off' position and I press the keys, appears a message saying that I should switch to position 'on' but when I switch lateral position 'on' and I press Fn + F8 it does nothing.

If I want to disable the wi - fi I have to do it with other methods: the function key does not work correctly.

    Any clue?
Thanks for the advice (and sorry for my English).

When the WLAN switch is on orange LED is also on?
You can scan area available networks?
Have you tried to use the WLAN without using FN + F8?

  • Satellite A100: Battery does not charge

I have a problem with the battery of high capacity on the Satellite A100-720. Accidentally I forgot the action of critical battery set to 'No action', so the battery got virtually completely discharged and now the laptop refuses to charge the battery. The orange light comes on, but the NHC program reports no load current and just on 0%.
It is also strange that if I stop the laptop and unplug the power cable and then reinsert, it takes a second or two for the connector blue AC light upward and another a few seconds for the battery charging light illuminates... that's not happened before.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello

While the laptop is turned on and connected to the adapter try to remove the battery and put it back up shortly after. Look at what happens and we report.

By the way: what is the number of the part of this battery high capacity you use with your Satellite A100?

  • Satellite A100-049, do not load, totally dead

    Purchased: April 2007
    Model: Satellite A100-049 (PSAARE-03G00JEN)
Operating system: supplied with Windows Vista 32-bit, now under Windows 7 64-bit

In recent weeks, my Toshiba Satellite A100-049 began to charge not. He went from 100%, 80%, 50%, 30%, 10%. Basically all over the place but I have no worry because I never unplug it anyway, and if I let her she eventually settle and start loading. It worked this way for about 2-3 weeks.

    * He then from the changing of the guard that I discovered despite the orange charging light is on and Windows, he is in charge, it is actually not statement. This means in turn Windows is not hibernate (depending on configuration) when it reaches 3% of battery. Therefore, it goes down to 0% and turns off.

When he is in this State, it's a real pain so he could start charging again. I left all night and sometimes the charging light lights up, other times it doesn't.

    * I thought it might be the battery so I bought a new *, this fixed for about a week before the same exact problems occurred.

    * Since that it has gotten worse and now does not load period.*, I now have two dead batteries with 0% fee, as well as a dead laptop. Once again I left during the night, nothing, that it refuses to load.

I searched this forum and tried to turn on without the battery in, it lights. He's dead.

    * Is the main/mother card or would be - this something else? *

If the Commission of the main mother card, how much a replacement motherboard would cost more work? I live in the United Kingdom, how to fix here? If this is not the case, in U.S. dollars will be fine.

I really hope I can make it last a few months because A: I can't afford a new laptop and b: I prefer to buy a new laptop when Windows 8 came out, I intend to get anyway. Especially since I already have a valid license of Windows 7 retail.

Thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

    > I have searched this forum and tried to turn on without the battery in, it lights. He's dead.

That s not good dude even if the battery is not connected, the laptop must turn on with AC adapter plugged
What you can do is this short workaround just for testing purposes.
-The battery should be removed in addition to disconnect the adapter
-Leave the laptop disconnected for a longer period of time (a long night). then press the power button / stop along 30 sec.
-Now connect the AC adapter and check if the laptop would be powered.

If this is not possible, then the motherboard could be affected in such cases is not worth buying a new motherboard since its really, really expensive part.
New motherboard + fix would cost about 300-350
In my opinion it's better to sell this unit and buy a new laptop.

  • Satellite A100: Scratches appeared - performance down

    Hello

(first at all sorry for my bad English, I'm trying to improve it;).

I have a Satellite A100, bought about 8 months ago. Here's the material:

    Intel Centrino Duo 2 x 1, 7GHz
    NVIDIA GeForce 7600go
    RAM DDR2 1024

I think these are the most important information about this.
About two weeks ago suddenly seemed a few scratches on the entire screen. Especially on colors like purple or orange. I first thought that maybe my set is the problem and made a screenshot and showed it to people.

The problem is, they do not see those stripes. My performenc is not aceptable more, he went down quite a lot. Is it possible that upgrading my RAM (up to 4096) damaged the laptop?

I mean it worked fine with the new RAM for about 4 weeks, and then the problems started. I asked the support from Toshiba if my laptop supports this extra one RAM they said, my WinXP supports only 3 GB but didn't we could neither put in more a problem.

So I did. O of course this means I have more no guarantee. Please help me!

    Thank you!

    Hello

He s strange you see stripes and others don t see the lines and scratches on the screen
    I was a little confused m
Also you suggestion that enforcement is down is not really understandable

The fact is that no one can say exactly what it could be without any control from laptop computers

In your case I would recommend you first connect the laptop to the external display to check if the same stripes (if there is) would appear on the second monitor.
If the same scratches are visible then it could be linked to the question of the graphics card

However, the fact is that if you think that there is a problem with your hardware then would be advised to contact the ASP from Toshiba for a verification of the laptop.

    That's all I can suggest at this time;

  • Satellite A100-847 battery led blinks 11 times, absence of motherboard?

    Hello

14 months (only 12 months warranty), I have a Satellite A100-847 was a laptop perfect, but 2 weeks ago the ac-adaptar falls down and since then that if I push the power button the battery orange led blinks 11 times with the same length, but nothing happens.

ASP did not now what this flashing means but think I have a motherboard problem.
Now I found on ebay a Satellite A100-153 and my question is, is this the same motherboard, because it's also 945 PM.
    (Sorry for my bad English)

    [Satellite A100-847: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?PRODUCT_ID=120570&DISC _ MODEL = 1 & service = EU]

    THX.

It seems that two laptop computers support the same motherboard as the Satellite A100-847 and Satellite A100-153 belong to the same series of PSAA9E.
This series uses the same drivers and the same BIOS so I think that the mobo must also be the same.

PS; I think that it is a motherboard problem too. Such a code is displayed only if a hardware failure has been detected on the motherboard.

    Best regards

  • Windows vista on the Satellite A100-036 problems

Hello. I have a Toshiba satellite A100-036 laptop with windows vista home basic 32-bit, and I have the following problems.

    1. they replace me the hard drive in a store. I don't have the Toshiba dvd recovery I used to format the windows. They told me that I can't use it more because the recovery of the disk partition is lost. If I want to format again what should I do?

    2. whenever I turn on the laptop touchpad scrolling does not work. I go to control panel > mouse and it shows me this message: "unable to connect to the score. synaptics device driver. If you have installed another pointing PS/2 device driver please uninstall the synaptics driver by clicking on the Yes button. You must then reinstall your device pointing to your external device driver again. You want to uninstall the synaptics driver now? "I click on no and once it works again and the synaptics pointing device icon reappear in the taskbar. If I restart the laptop, it still does not work and I do the same things.

    3. whenever I turn on the laptop the bluetooth does not work and the bluetooth icon does not appear in the taskbar. I have to go to Device Manager, uninstall the driver, go to control panel > bluetooth local com and it works again. Whenever I turn on the laptop I have to do this.

    4. everytime I turn on the laptop the Security Center is turned off and I put in market or the automatic updates are disabled and I have to turn them on.

    5. sometimes it does not install the automatic updates and it shows me Error 8000FFFF.
Could someone help me? Thank you.

    > 1. they replaced the hard drive in a store. I don't have the Toshiba dvd recovery I used to format the windows. They told me that I can't use it because the recovery of the disk partition is lost. If I want to format again what should I do?
If you have the Toshiba recovery disc in the past, you can use it as part of the new HARD drive. The Toshiba Recovery disk would fix the laptop back to factory settings, which means that you have installed Windows system, Toshiba drivers and additional software.

    > 2. The touchpad scrolling does not work everytime I turn on the laptop. I go to control panel > mouse and it shows me this message: "unable to connect to the score. synaptics device driver. > I click on no and once it works again and the synaptics pointing device icon reappear in the taskbar. If I restart the laptop, it still does not work and I do the same things.
Go to the page of the Toshiba UE driver and download the driver for the Synaptics touchpad. Install the touchpad driver and reboot the laptop. Usually, this should solve your problem.

    > 3. Whenever I turn on the laptop the bluetooth does not work and the bluetooth icon does not appear in the taskbar. I have to go to Device Manager, uninstall the driver, go to control panel > bluetooth local com and it works again. Whenever I turn on the laptop I have to do this.

It's strange. Usually the BT should work if the BT stack has been installed correctly. Please note that you must activate the BT using the fn (FN + F8). This combination turns on and the WiFi also. So make sure you did it correctly.

    > 4. Whenever I turn on the laptop the Security Center is turned off and I have to turn it on or automatic updates are disabled and I have to turn them on.
