Satellite A100-369 - BIOS password was needed all of a sudden

Hello world!
I have a Satellite A100-369 psaare04m00dit. After a few tries to install windows 7, (sth has not worked since the restoration of DVD Toshiba) bios password was necessary.

In fact, no password has been before and... have no idea what would be the password.
Is there a way how can I reset the passwd for my s/n?
I bought this laptop 4 years ago... Thank you!!!

I use Toshiba laptop computers and, as far as I know, the BIOS password can be set only.
BIOS password can be done via BIOS advanced or preinstalled Toshiba tools options.

Has anyone access your laptop?

  • Satellite Pro A100 request BIOS password which was never put

    Hiya

Have had my Satellite Pro A100 for almost 2 years and that all this time have never even heard of a password system, but all of a sudden, I turned on the laptop this morning and it does not load. I tried pressing F12 (can't remember why, it seemed the thing to do to read the instructions at the bottom of the screen), but nothing happened so I just turned off the power. Put on again, he asked the system password. (A black screen with a blue box, with the old text base BACK type fonts).

I have no idea what it could be, I tried the word system and tried just pressing on enter without text in there but it says incorrect password. I removed the battery and left 10 hours but put it back in the machine there is no difference, it will not always go through this screen.

I am the only user on this machine, have no idea what caused it. I am aware of security, have installed on complete McAfee AV and did not have anything odd happen at all. Didn't last changes made to the configuration, no new software etc. so I have no idea what prompted it.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks in advance
    Rachel

This password seems to be a BIOS password, but I have no idea why this password is displayed if you have never defined it.
Unfortunately, there is not a lot to see the BIOS password can be removed without the help of an ASP.

Then, contact the service provider allowed in your country and request removal of the password.

I also recommend updating the BIOS after the technician removed the password.

Do you know how to find the ASP closest?

Here is a site with all FSA worldwide:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/-> support download &-> find an authorized service provider

    See you soon

Please I need help how can erase the BIOS password Setup. My BIOS is phoenix and version 6.0! Thank you right now!

HM, it's unfortunate, but unfortunately, you will need to contact an authorized service center and ask them for help because they are the one and only who could probably help you with your problem.

As far as I know, the BIOS must be something hard that cannot be revoked by typing certain codes that must be presented by toshiba in the Japan. And since they don t give such secrets out to end users like us, you have to click [HERE: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_whitepaper.jsp?service=EU&WHITEPAPER_ID=0 000000871] and contact the nearest ASP in your country.

  • TR/agent.1220467 detected as I ran that Satellite A100 PSAA2E BIOS update file

I was about to update my BIOS Toshiba laptop Satellite A100 PSAA2E on-site official (I downloaded the update file and unpacked to run it):
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_b * ios.jsp? service = EU
When my antivirus (Avira Antivir Personal) has detected a TR/agent.1220467

Of course, I stopped everything, asked to remove, Avira have another full scan, it was deleted again and restarted my PC.

I am always very careful with what I download, but as I trusted blindly the official site of Toshiba as being safe, I don't run a virus scan on the file update and stupidly flat it once it has been downloaded.
HOW CAN TOSHIBA HAVE INFECTED FILES TO UPDATE HIS SITE? This is really unacceptable.

    And now how I will:
    1. ensure that this virus is gone for good?
    2. switch to update my BIOS knowing that it is not safe to do?

    Please help me!
.. .and make sure that this file to update the BIOS is not infecting hundreds of other users!

    Hello

Don t worry buddy there is no virus
The BIOS file is safe and I guess that your virus scan recognized the file as a virus because of the similar application procedures

First of all you should not update your BIOS if your laptop works well!

Second, you must disable all 3 rd party applications like virus, firewall, malware, software software of scans, while the BIOS update!
These tools can affect or interrupt the process of updating the BIOS and the laptop cannot!

You know that the update of the BIOS is a sensitive technique and if something goes wrong during the update, then you will not be able to power the device!

  • How to remove the Satellite Pro 4600 BIOS password?

A friend of mine recently bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 (PS460E-03371-EN). Unfortuately the password of the BIOS was set before the purchase and would like to know how to reset it.
The machine will not start now.
Any help as to the location of the BIOS battery or work around this problem will be appreciated.

    Hello

To remove the BIOS battery will not help. BIOS by removing on laptops is more complicated than on desktop computers. BIOS by removing the procedure depends on the laptop model and it is not the same on all models of laptops.

A lot of people get the laptop with password and to provide an accurate description how do this in the public forum is not good idea.
Have you tried to contact the person who sold this laptop and ask BIOS password?

  • Satellite A100 - update BIOS problem with phlashnt.sys and Vista 64

I downloaded the upgrade of BIOS (file S10V600.exe) for my Toshiba Satellite A100-437 (PSAA8). When I try to launch it I get the answer:
    "Unable to load driver.
    ... \PHLASHNT. SYS
    ...
This driver has been blocked form load.
    Error code: 1275 "
(I rolled points instead of less interesting part of this message.

My system is Vista Business 64 - bit SP1.

I turned off User Account Control (in fact it the first thing I did after installing Vista ;)).
And just to be safe, I also tried to right click on the S10V600.exe file and choose "Run as Administrator".
I was using the admin account.

Nothing did. Always the same window with the above message appeared.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Concerning

Maybe it's because you have installed Vista 64-bit?

You may need to use XP or Vista 32 bit update of the BIOS.

  • Satellite A100-206 supervisor password problem

    Hello

We have a Satellite A100-206 at the office.

A colleague trying to protect the laptop set the user password in the bios.
I do not exactly know what she does but at startup is asked for a password.

Then she ask me to remove the password so I typed the password, management of the bios and clear the user password.
But it is, I also noticed that the supervisor password was already defined but not selectable (gray color).

In any case, I've saved and restart.
The problem is that now the OS start without asking for a password, but I can't enter the bios because it asks for a password and is not that of the colleague don't forget to have it fixed.

Why can't I get more into the bios of th as a user?
I also find the hwsetup in windows re set the password of the user as shown in the manual, but this software is not present.

    Best regards
    Diego

    Hello

I put t know which operating system you have, but I think that Akuma is right. If you start HWsetup you can also access the BIOS using this tool and remove or set a supervisor password.

You can remove the password in HWsetup?

  • Satellite A100 - 369 (PSAARE) - Fn keys do not work with XP

    Hello
I have an A100-369 (PSAARE) I had Vista and I installed XP.
I have download all the drivers for my pc from this site and I have installed all. (Hotkey Utility, included)
    and everything works perfectly.
I have not updated my bios again.
My Fn key does not work.
I need to update the Bios? I already have the download (bios - 20071126124517.zip)
I might of to do this by myself?

    Thank you!

The update of the BIOS is always risky!
But if you use good BIOS and the good BIOS update procedure so that there should be no problem.

I think the keys FN don t work because the BIOS does not support on XP or because the tools and the correct drivers are missing.
After you have updated the BIOS, you must install all the drivers Toshiba XP and utilities in the right order!

The correct order is mentioned in the installation instructions txt file located on the page of Toshiba Europe.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A100-188: BIOS downgrade - how?

    Hello

first sorry for my bad English.
I have to update my bios from version 1.3 to 2.0. After that I have problems when I start the system.
toshibe says it's not possible to downgrade. in this forum I read that it is possible.
I read that in an Italian forum can I find help, but I Don t understand the Italian language.
the user in this forum 'alter_schwede' and 'fizzban' can help me. (in German).

When one of these 2 users read that please contact me. ICQ: 131260081
    or by e-mail [email protected]

    Hello

First of all, to my knowledge the BIOS downgrade is not possible.
Secondly, on the Toshiba page, I found only the latest BIOS (not the older versions).

In addition, on the Toshiba driver page, you will find 3 different models of Satellite A100.
AFAIK the A100-188 is a unit of PSAA9E.
Therefore, it is important that you used good BIOS and that it have updated with the proper procedure.
Bad BIOS and bad upgrade procedure may damage the motherboard or some problems with the functionality of the device.

I guess you used the wrong BIOS. In this case, you will need to contact the ASP from Toshiba for the return of the BIOS.
You might try updating again with the good BIOS.

  • Re: Satellite A100-813 - BIOS reports inserted 3 GB but 4 GB

    Satellite A100-813
    Model No.: PSAA8E

Recently, my laptop 2 GB memory @ 533 mhz were bad and I decided at this level to 4 GB and carried 2 x 2 GB @ 633 mhz.
Though according to the instructions in the manual, it supports 4 GB maximum, but my bios shows/3 gb.

My Windows 7 64 bit, shows 4 gb, but with 3 GB usable.
Please if someone can help me get all the 4 GB, is there any problem with the highest FSB.

I thought also of shared video memory, but when only 2 GB is inserted, the bios displays full 2 GB.

The laptop supports Mobile IntelĀ® 945GM Express Chipset
The chip supports the 4 GB of RAM.
Then you should be able to use 4 GB

    What the BIOS update?
    Check this box

With regard to the recognition of the Windows RAM:
In msconfig.exe to go to the boot tab, click Advanced Options, make sure that the Maximum memory checkbox is unchecked

Tonight one of my friends brought me his Satellite Pro L10 and asked me to remove the user password, cose she dislikes grasp every time... OK, it's very simple! -I said. Check it out. Maybe it helps.

Additional, as I know if is not the BIOS password, you cannot delete it by yourself. Only the service guys are able to remove unknown BIOS password.

    Hello

I don't really know what you're talking about. Your laptop model is listed for a long time and I do not understand where you found this satellite 3000.

Go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp and choose your model of laptop with good description. All that s!

Sorry, but I don't think there is a problem with professionalism, but only with you and the way you're looking for info on the web page.

    Hey Hadisch

What wrong with you? You can find the drivers in 2 minutes, but what do you ask this simple question here and wait. It must be more comfortable. Am I right about that?

So let's ' s logically do: If you have a model of cell US drivers are available on US support page. For a European model to support European page but if you have a Canadian model laptop please visit Toshiba Canada support page and try to find your laptop model and all the drivers available for Windows XP Home edition.

So either search only or we say what country you purchased your laptop.
