Several software malfunction Thinkvantage Applications

Hello Lenovo community,

I have a Thinkpad W510 running on Windows 7 (4391-A72).

Just a few days, I started my computer from a closed state to know that Power Manager failed, with the following symptoms:

-Optical drive off is no longer on its own

-L' battery indicator in the Windows 7 taskbar does not display anything, just a bar grey as if no battery is plugged in, even when I plug in a battery. No battery percentage or remaining time are displayed in the taskbar either.

-When the power manager is open, and the battery page is selected, the text box that is supposed to display the following message is displayed:

"The battery is in good condition.

Sector W 135 adapter is attached. (only if the adapter is plugged) »

does not at all. In addition, the battery percentage doesn't update or refresh from time to time when the percentage of battery charge changes.

I thought it might have something to do with the Lenovo Power Management driver, so I uninstalled it using the control panel and I reinstalled from the Lenovo Web site, but this does not solve the problem. I want to uninstall Power Manager, but there is no option to do so! This program is not listed under "programs and features"...

Resettlement on the site of Lenovo Power Manager also fails to solve this problem.

Ironically, I thought that might not be a problem of power, because the following result management driver (I could always be wrong, please correct me if this is the case)

-System continues to obey timers for standby and hibernation defined through the power manager.

-Microphone Mute still work.

In addition, the problem is not just with Power Manager, I have also a problem with The Thinkvantage System Update software. When I ran to try to look for a new update for Power Manager, fetching of new updates progress stops at 9% to display the following error message:

«Could not collect any user information.»

Having encountered this problem before, I went to download a new copy on the Lenovo site and performed a clean reinstall. During the uninstall, I was invited to remove the files then cannot be removed safely by the installer and I have agreed to this request.

Unfortunately, reinstall the program made it worse. Now when I try to start the system update, the following error message appears:

"System update could not start properly."

And then it closes on me.

I'm not sure if this caused to the new format of the site download Lenovo, because he is no longer differentiates its systems of series and number of submodel, which enriches the specificity of the kind of firmware, drivers, and applications that I am getting. I could receive incompatible versions of the software or drivers... so I don't know.

    That's what I would do to try to solve this problem...

    1 stop, suspend, the goal of the Virtual Machine.

    2. uncheck the 'Allow your Mac to open applications in the virtual machine' box sub-applications shared on the sheet of sharing in the settings for the target of the Virtual Machine and then close merger.

    3. now delete the application folder that is in the package of the target Virtual Machine, and then empty the trash.  Note that it is safe to delete the applications folder and support within the whole of the VM of the target, as it will be recreated automatically once the shared Applications settings are set on "allow your Mac to open applications in the machine virtual '.

      In my iMac 21.5 OS x 10.6.8 "(fin 2009) there is an app called 'Malwarebites'."  It has been downloaded on my computer and I can't download it.  I am very cautious about downloading anything to do with malicious software on my Mac because of repeated warnings here in the ADC unless it is recommended by one of the highest gurus here in the group.  What is a hack or just my bad?  Or maybe something approved by Apple?

    It's a legitimate anti-malware application created by Malwarebytes. I am actually responsible for this product, a Director of Malwarebytes.

    It is possible, if you have had service from Apple recently, that an Apple technician can have downloaded this. They will sometimes use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac to eliminate the threats they find on Mac which is the subject of service. It is also quite possible that you may have downloaded some time earlier this year and just don't remember.

    However, if your Mac is running OS X 10.6.8 is unable to run any version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac, so you can remove it from your computer.

    Why does Windows 7 Professional x 64 creates structures of files like this:

    C:\Users\Settings\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\...

    I finally found my answer.

    Application data 'folder' keeps reproducing itself as a subfolder when you change the permissions for the Application data folder, usually giving you full permissions to the c:\users\ folder. It's exactly what I was doing.

    The Application Data folder is a crossroads, that points to the parent folder.

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Application Data\

    points to

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\

    Spawning occurs when permissions for Application data 'folder' (junction) are changed. Application data must have the following permissions:

    Deny - all - list folder / read data - - this folder only

    Cela (wisely) to avoid recursion when a non Windows 7 aware application scans the Application data 'folder', and this is also the reason for the "Access denied" message you get on some folder in c:\users\.     Yes, it is possible to connect multiple iSCSI targets to the iSCSI Software initiator.

    Create several VMkernel ports bind to the iSCSI initiator.

    • Connect vmhba34 to vmk1: esxcli swiscsi nic add - n d vmhba33 vmk1

    • Connect vmhba34 to vmk2: esxcli swiscsi nic add - n vmk2 d vmhba33

    • Check the configuration of vmhba34: esxcli swiscsi nic list vmhba33 d

    • Vmk2 and vmk1 should be listed.

    It is normally used to provide multiple active paths to iSCSI storage.

    You can also create additional VMkernel ports for more than one iSCSI SAN network.

    I would like to know when it started, because then maybe I could narrow it down. I have actually some problems, but I strongly suspect that they are related. I do not think that this started immediately when I upgraded to El Capitan, but I can't say when it started.

    1. If I Mail to Safari and I click on Safari to bring it forward, nothing happens. If I click a second time, then Safari comes forward. The problem is not limited to these two requests. Maps, Finder, TextEdit and others do, but it doesn't happen in all cases. For example, if I click on a TextEdit window it before now, but if TextEdit is in front, the other application is not until the second click.
