  Recently, I bought 2 memory modules (DDR2 SDRAM SODIMM 667 Mhz 2 GB each) and put them in my laptop
  (Satellite A100-451 reference: PSAARE-04501SEN)

  But Windows and laptop say Everest has only 3 GB of memory total.
  Memory modules have been checked in HP Pavilion dv6820ea, then memory has been recognized as 4 GB.

  Anyone know what is the problem and how to solve?

  Using the 32-bit Windows or 64-bit Windows OS?

  Fact it that 32-bit Windows, no matter if it s Vista or XP, see only 3.2 GB of RAM due to the limitation of the 32 bit OS!

• How to connect external speakers to Satellite A100-451

  I have a Satellite A100-451 (UK) running Vista. I want to connect external speakers. There is a "headphone" Jack on the front (3.5 mm jack I think), can I connect external speakers here? The speakers are "PC Line" with their own power supply and also have a 3.5 mm jack plug).

  You need the audio Line out put and the headset jack provides this output.

  Don t worry buddy there is no virus
  The BIOS file is safe and I guess that your virus scan recognized the file as a virus because of the similar application procedures

  First of all you should not update your BIOS if your laptop works well!

  Second, you must disable all 3 rd party applications like virus, firewall, malware, software software of scans, while the BIOS update!
  These tools can affect or interrupt the process of updating the BIOS and the laptop cannot!

  You know that the update of the BIOS is a sensitive technique and if something goes wrong during the update, then you will not be able to power the device!

• Satellite A100-451: conflict of IE with the BT software

  I bought my Satellite 100-451 in May 2007.
  Windows Internet Explorer often didn't work since the beginning, so I downloaded Firefox and have used it since then.

  In my opinion, your first point of contact should be the BT Home Hub software manufacturing support team.
  Guys design software and must ensure that own software would run on Windows operating system.

  That's why to visit website of the BT Home Hub software manufacturing and check if it y some fixes or any further details on similar problems.

• Satellite A100-451 Vista - can I add XP and set up the dual boot?

  My new A100-451 came with 2 related partitions on the HARD disk, marked C:\Vista
  (Vista Home Premium) and E:\Data. About 80 GB on each.
  I can't get my ProII Toucam webcam works with Vista and refuse to update the software.
  Some of my other software no longer work.

  Because the HARD disk is already partitioned, I would install XP on the second partition and set up a dual boot system.
  Is it possible, and how would I go about this?

  Of course, you can install a XP on more partition.
  But I do not recommend to install the XP on the partition existing E:\ but to create a new partition on the HARD drive.
  It s very simple to create the partition under Vista OS. Go to disk management and shrink a partition E:
  Then the 3rd other partition can be created on the empty space.

  Then you could just run the install of XP and could install XP on a partition that is created again.

  How fast is the hard drive on this laptop? He said SMART 160 GB, but does not specify a speed, although I'm guessing its 5400 RPM.

  I found some info that the rotation of the HARD drive is 4200 RPM. I'm not sure 100% on speakers but usually if laptop a harman/kardon speakers it is not in the specification but for A100-451, it is not the case. This info, you can get the garage directly.

  BT is not available, and it shouldn't surprise you because most of the A100 models are supplied without BT module. You can use any time key USB BT. IT is simple to use and really cheap.

  I s Don t think possible. It will give you a message if the battery goes empty, but with this "beep" you have no chance.

  I looked on my machine, I have a qosmio with Vista, but the powermanagers are similar. And I couldn t find anything.

  The mobile graphics card is not the same as a graphics card for the desktop PC!
  The laptop only uses the same graphics chip but other features like graphics card clean, cooling module is not available!
  Don t try to overclock anything! You can for sure damage the card, dude!

  I have a Sat A100-451 running Vista. I want to connect an external monitor. I have a SyncMaster 913V 19 "flat screen, I have tried to connect. This worked OK, but the ratio is bad & I can't find how to change it using the menu system monitor.

  I found how to switch between monitors, no problem.

  The screen seems to be that led 'default' Sat A100, the nvidea driver.
  Should I install the external driver of samsung moniotr (I have the disc) or if it might upset the own Toshiba screen?

  First of all the graphics driver is necessary and important to run and use the graphics card with maximum performance and NOT the external monitor!
  I'm sure that the external monitor software was not designed to run the graphics card but to activate and control some options of the external monitor.

  Anyway, you can try to install this software rendering, but you must understand that this software will not replace the graphics driver installed nVidia of Toshiba.

  I have a SAT. A100-451 running Vista. The hard drive is 160 GB and it is partitioned (factory settings) into 2 logical drives, i.e. Vista (C :) and Data(E:), chacun nominalement 80Go.)

  Why is the data on E: partition, why not D:?

  I have assumed that D: was reserved for the recovery partition, but if I insert a USB key, it configures the D: drive.

  I'm not worried by the present, just puzzled?

  The letter D: was reserved for the STRANGE-> CD/DVD drive. That's a common fact.

  But of course, the letters are editable and you can assign to what you want.
