  first of all I want to say sorry if you don't understand some parts of my text, but my English isn't the best more :(

  As explained in the topic I have a Satellite A100-590. I got it as a gift from my father-in-law after the A100-590 no longer works and he bought another new laptop because the customer terrible service from Toshiba.
  As much as I want to try if someone of you can help me.

  Now to point to the problem of my A100-590.
  It worked very well for my father-in-law for about a year. Then all of a sudden it no longer turns.

  The only thing that happens is the power led (the one in the middle of the five) flashes, when the power cord is connected and the power button is pressed. This light flashes 10 times and that's all that happens.
  It flashes only when the power cord is not plugged in, if only the battery is put in.

  I mention that the battery is totally empty, because the Satellite has not been used for about a year and a half now.
  The A100-590 was sent to Toshiba already, but the only thing Toshiba has done has been to send everything back one put a paper in that the motherboard needs to be changed and it would cost around 650.

  I think they don't even look at the satellite, I know that from my other computer laptop manufacturer too.
  It seems as if changing the motherboard is the best way to repair a laptop. FS said it too, but it was only one my card WIFI which was broken.

  Maybe someone of you had an idea of what might be wrong with the Satellite?
  I think this isn't a big thing, but does not fit my technical knowledge of the laptop.

  First you need to isolate the problem to the motherboard.

  Try to swap the memory modules around and try to start with a single Module, try the other location.

  If you can access the Wifi card, remove and see if it boots.

  After flashing, the machine restarted automatically, but unfortunately it keeps now suspended from Thoshiba welcome screen. Also by pressing F2 or F12 will not change anything. It seems that the BIOS is damaged.

  I saw that in the BIOS package are delivered the two files (s10gm590.rom and s10pm590.rom) flash. But just the execution of the BIOS590MP.exe SanAntonion10 a .vbs script starts decides which automatically selects and loads a flash file. Maybe she chose the wrong?

  I installed Win7 on my Satellite A100-590 (PSAA9E-03Z00QGR) today. Everything works fine except for the display drivers.

  I would not recommend doing so. The motherboard is perhaps not damage and only the ROM module must be flashed again with special BIOS.

  Satellite A100-590 belongs to the PSAA9E and the A100-480 also belongs to the same series. So I guess that both motherboards are the same.

  I bought a Satellite A100-590. I saw first, at the bottom, a field that locks as an interface to home... but it was not installed.

  Unfortunately, this Toshiba notebook doesn't connect with port replicator or docking station. Some units Portege and Tecra models are supported by the docking feature.

  After searching for hours on google and other places without finding any helpful response, I decided to ask here. I hope someone here can help me out.
  I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-590, and I am trying to install Windows XP Pro SP2 MSDNAA from a cd. But whenever I try to boot from it, I get the following error message:

  PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
  PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.

  and it starts the already installed Windows XP Home Edition. On several boards of people say that this is caused by the boot loader tries to start from a network and not being able to find a server to boot from. I tried all the stuff like setting up LAN to the last item in the startup list, but nothing helps... any suggestions?

  The PXE error occurs if the device tries to start first on the LAN.
  I put t know how you boot from the CD, but I recommend to change the boot order in the BIOS. LAN Boot option must be set at the end of the order and the CD at the beginning.

  It's very strange and I imagine that you did something and now the noise has gone. Satellite A100 (PSAA9E) is well known to me and WXP works very stabile. Have you tried to roll back the OS to an earlier when time its worked well?

  How to purchase the Microsoft Windows CD?
  You should know that the Toshiba Recovery CD only contains the ghost of image files and it s not the same as an original CD of Windows!

  If you want to make sure your data from the internal HARD drive, I would recommend to put the laptop HARD drive in an external USB box and then you will be able to connect the HARD drive to another computer. Then, you can safe you data on the other HARD drive.

  If you want to use external case so I put t see otherwise to use the Toshiba Recovery CD or the Windows CD.

  I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and unfortunately; 64-bit Vista drivers are not available for this series of laptop.

  However, there is perhaps a chance to get 64-bit drivers, I know that some series of laptops are equipped with the same features. This is why some unique drivers should run on the series of portable different too.
