Satellite A100 - 803 (PSAANE) - Trouble updating the BIOS in Vista

Hello

I tried to update the BIOS on my laptop today. After the installation of the new BIOS, restarted the pc and then it showed a black screen with white display text material in the machine.

In the end, it says something about a corrupt CMOS. She said press F1 to default or F2 for Setup.

I pressed F1.

The thing is that I don't know if it worked. I used a program to display the bios version and it seems up to date, but the CMOS thing me freaked out.

I met all of the planned maneuvers (AC adapter / CC plugged etc.) except in startup mode. I assumed that the boot mode is currently in the standard vista desktop.

* What is this thing of startup mode? * It's driving me crazy. I searched the forums, google and nothing. How can I get the computer to "boot mode and not recovery mode" as the tutorial says.

I intend to reinstall the BIOS as soon as I know how to enter in the boot mode.

I think that this announcement has already answered in this thread:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=122727#122727

You're talking about the traditional BIOS update, but the fact is that on the Toshiba driver page you will find ONLY the base BIOS update windows.
All new BIOS updates are versions of WIN and can be updated only running a Windows operating system.

In the BIOS, the package should be unzipped everything first, and then an .exe file must be run.

That s all ;)

  • DC7700: update the BIOS in Vista

    Hello.

I have a dc7700 Convertible Minitowers (Windows Vista 32 bit Ultimate) and I want to update my BIOS. Product page shows the BIOS is compatible with Vista business and enterprise. This mean that I can or can not be updated using Vista Ultimate?

    Hello:

You can update the BIOS using Vista Home Edition or ultimate edition.

But a better and safer way is updated the BIOS through the F10 system flash rom option in the file menu of BIOS.

This way no matter what operating system you are running.

You can run Windows 10 on it, and it wouldn't matter.

Just make sure that you update to the correct version of the BIOS.

There are versions for the vPro systems and versions for non-vPro systems.

In other words, if your BIOS is v1.xx, then you need to update BIOS v1.16.

If your BIOS is v2.xx or 3. XX, then you need to update to BIOS v3.07.

  • Satellite A100 does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

I downloaded the update to the bios toshiba A100 PSAA8 on the toshiba site and applied using the procedure of updating the bios from windows XP MSE. Restart after the start of the update stopped at the toshiba start screen.

At startup the screen by pressing ESC watch text mode. The message indicated it confirms the update of the bios version. POST messages are:

No TPM or TPM has problem
    1015 M system RAM passed

    Press to enter in SETUP

Pressing F2 just clears the last message in line and then no change is found.

The laptop comes with windows XP media center edition. I don't know why the TPM secure is enabled. It is possible that toshiba is available with the module of TPM enabled in bios updates that logbook. If this is the case, they must clearly identified as 'not applicable' upgrade for machines that are not relevant.

I found similar messages around the forum without convincing answer.

Is it possible to fix this without sending? Even if it turns out to be affordable, it make much sense to pay for the problems caused by toshiba.

    Hello

Please don t blame someone for you mistakes ;)
As far as I know that only a few sets of laptops come with TPM.
If you want to do an update of the BIOS on the models at TPM, you will need to contact the ASP!

Looks like you used a bad BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure.

The Toshiba page a BISO update the documentation that describes how to upgrade the BIOS on each series laptop!
You will find on the page of the Toshiba driver compatible BIOS and information over a large number of details!

    > Is it possible to fix this without sending
Don t think so, and therefore, you will need to contact the Asp help!

  • Satellite A100-386 - how to upgrade the BIOS?

    Hello

I wanted just to update my old Satellite A100-386 with 4 GB of RAM (2x2gb Crucial) instead of 1 GB, as I am now running Windows7 Pro 64 bit instead of the original XP 32.

I read that I had to upgrade the BIOS as mine is v2.00. So, I downloaded the last of them.
It seems to be an automatic upgrade of BIOS (S10V600.exe) as mentioned on the site Web of Toshiba.
But when hit the .exe, I have a box of error message saying:
"LOADPEDRV. "EXE: could not start the service.

My question is: do I have to be 32-bit OS to run the upgrade of the automatic BIOS or is it possible to Flash the BIOS with a Windows7 64 bit OS run?

Thanks a lot for all answer as I found no 'how to' in search on this forum.

    Best regards
    François

    Hi FPSim,

Who said that you need to update the BIOS to upgrade RAM? The maximum RAM capacity depends on the motherboard and chipset and not BIOS.

Official website of Toshiba, I have seen that the model supports 4 GB of RAM so the BIOS update is not necessary. Increase the RAM and everything is ok.

  • Satellite A100-756: no option in the BIOS to change the CPU usage

    Hi guys,.

recently bought a satellite A100-756 laptop with core duo of intel clocked at 1.86 Ghz. When you look in the BIOS (version 2.00) the only options allotted to me is to dynamically the CPU frequency mode are 'always low, or dynamically switchable. There is no option to set the processor to operate at "still high". my friend who has a 2 years old satellite said that, on its model, there is the possibility to "still high".

Toshiba HWSetup also lists only the mode options for dynamic as either «always low or dynamically switchable» cpu frequency I was wondering if anyone has done to put the option to always high, or if there is an update the Bios or software Toshiba that would allow this option for 'high alyways?

    Congratulations for all help people!

    Hello

As you may knew that the Toshiba Power Saver tool is preinstalled on most Toshiba laptops.
This tool allows to change the CPU, the speed of processing, cooling method, using standby and hibernation, etc.

To change the speed of the CPU or the cooling method, you will need to enter the energy saver, then select the basic settings tab.

PS: All these settings can be configured for a different power profiles. Therefore, you must configure the settings of the profile that you will use for most of the time.

  • Satellite Pro A120: Need to update the BIOS after upgrade CPU

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 and I need to update the bios of a change in cpu cause.
The laptop works very well, but for some reason any with the new processor fan runs always full.

A lot, I searched but found nothing.
The model number is PSAC1E-0QL04CG3 of ideas where I can find the bios?

    THX in advance,
    John

    Hello

First of all: update BIOS doesn t help you.
Why do you think that BIOS update should help reduce the activity of fan?

I guess that your new processor is faster. Right?
So it offers more performance and this leads to higher heat dissipation... so finally the CPU must be cooled and this can be done only if the cooling module would turn faster you agree with me?

By the way: the update of the BIOS is on the page of the Toshiba UE driver. Since the satellite Pro A120 is very old series, you will need to search for drivers in area Archive (Type of product-> Archive)

  • Satellite A60-106: Question about updating the BIOS and the BIOS Flash

Fact the BIOS Flash update the BIOS or that requires a different file. I've updated a Satellite A60 BIOS to 1.9 but am not sure if cela flashed the BIOS as well.

If this isn't the case, where I could get a file to Flash BIOS for satellite A60-106?

    Hello

Sorry, but you question is a bit confusing.
The update of the BIOS flashing the ROM module I put t know which version is installed before upgrading the BIOS, but if after the upgrade, a new version of the BIOS appears then the procedure was a success.

The good BIOS and how to upgrade the BIOS information you will find on the page of Toshiba.

  • Satellite L500-1XC - error while updating the BIOS

Hi, just download the most recent update BIOS but there is an error everytime I try to update to come... "uefi bios winflash over 210 ac of 10% battery attached"

Connected AC and battery not charging but tried to leave and remove too. Current bios 1.60
I tried to find a BIOS flash utility but no permits. BIOS default loaded and tried in safe mode too.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

I think that's the problem because the battery is not completely charged so you can't update the BIOS. Can you charge the battery when the laptop is turned off? I mean you can see the battery LED and if the battery is charged it changes the color of the orange in white or green (it s mentioned in the user manual). Can you confirm this?

On the other side, it would be interesting to know why the BIOS update is important to you. Problems with the computer? If it is not updated the BIOS isn't important, you can forget it. Never touch a running system ;)

  • Satellite L300 - 20 d - after updating the BIOS, that it does not start now

    Hello

I bought my wife a Toshiba L300 - 20 d (PSLB8E-0CK00YEN). It came with loaded Vista, which it cannot do.

My grandson offered also to sort. He has installed a new hard drive, loaded with XP and managed to get almost all the drivers working except the WiFi.

After spending many hours, he decided to update the bios of v1.8 to v1.9. Since it does not start... It happens with the Toshba screen, start windows normally, then it attempts to load windows, flashing and start the cycle al.

He has tried default settings, tried a XP disk, setting on the disk, nothing. He just does the same thing in safe mode.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated

    Hello

The wireless network card is enabled with the hardware switch on the computer laptop and FN + F8? Check this box!

Additionally, make sure that the latest driver on the Toshiba site is installed, and check the settings of the wireless network adapter TCP/IP.

Moreover a description that is more accurate than the WiFi works not would be very appreciated.

  • Satellite A-C50-K9K - after updating the BIOS, cooling fan is very loud

Gas station proposed to update the BIOS. 1.00 to 1.30. After updating the cooling system is 90% of the time. Load the default settings BIOS do not change.

No backup of the BIOS. Is it possible to download BIOS 1.00 or solve this problem?

The downgrade of the BIOS is not possible because you n t have the first version of BIOS and even if you get the 1.0 version of BIOS, the BIOS update procedure is not possible because the newer version is already flashed.

But I recommend you set the method in Windows to optimize power or better management the cooling battery life

+ Control Panel--> Power Options--> change the parameters of plan--> change power avancΘs--> TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings--> cooling method.

    Hello

You are right. There are, it's no BIOS which can be not started BOF on floppy or USB key.
You must update the BISO running windows OS.
But according to your message, it is not possible.

If you have no alternative but to contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country.
Guys should be able to help you. I presume that the technicians have access to the traditional BIOS version that can be updated using a disk.

  • Satellite A100-599 - question about updating the display driver

    Hello

I have a Satellite A100-599 with a NVIDIA 7600go graphics card and I like most of you Bioshock game crashes because of some problems with the graphic card drivers, no pb... Meanwhile, NVIDIA has released some new patches for the Forceware and after I double checked the database of the Toshiba driver support I've seen a new version in the list of display driver for WinXp.

One of them seems to be 13/09/2007. I have downloaded the drivers, installed them and then I checked the details of the driver in the Device Manager list and to my surprise the details say that the drivers are since 2006. I reinstalled the drivers and the same thing appeared. I checked the XML that was in archive of drivers and surprise... the drivers really are the 'old' of 2006. So my question is this: you have the display drivers for my model that work for Bioshock :D

    Best regards, Marian

I Don t know if we. I think it would be took a long while to ask every single user: Hey, you have a few drivers for blackmodjo? Ah, come on, please. Some of them... ;)

No, I have a better idea. It s like to cook a meal. Ingredients: DriverCleaner Pro and the www.laptopvideo2go.com site and... your your your TAAA patience

To get a good 'bio' meal shocked just follow this recipe:

    Reach
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
read before doing anything (YES, even before you continue to BREATHE) the FAQ section on this site (RECOMMENDEDRECOMMENDEDRECOMMENDED)
and then download the drivers. Do it, Yes...

Then download drivercleaner by searching on www.google.com and THEN read their manual before doing anything else (Ok, you can continue to breathe..)
After reading the manual you will be something like:

    1. program start, do something, restart the machine
    2. start in safe mode, from this program, deleting... yadayadayada
    3. install the new driver
    3. reading of Bioshock
    4...
    5. No... 6 thank. me and give me your first born... ;)

So by cutting about 40% of my humorous things and following the constructive technical instructions from me, you will be able to play bioshock.

    Welcomes :)

I got a Toshiba A100-906 2 years when I was on vacation in another country.
It has a Bios password and I can't funniest t change it.

I read all the manuals and there is no default password.
Is there a way to reset it or at least a program that will allow me to change with my fingerprint reader?

    > More funny it has a Bios password and I can't change.
For me it is not funny but he s strange because the BIOS password is not set on any one of the new laptops the point is that the BIOS password cannot be disabled or removed without knowing the old password.
So, you won't be able to remove it without the help of ASP from Toshiba.

Technician Toshiba ASP can only remove this password and you should get in touch with the guys to solve your problem.

    Welcome them
