Satellite A100-979: cannot find Vista 64 bit driver for Toshiba buttons

Hello!

I have a problem to find a driver for the multimedia keys on my Satellite A100-979(6 easy keys). I have Windows Vista 64-bit and this computer laptop should be vista capable. Can someone help me? Maybe you have an idea to solve this problem.

> this laptop should be able to vista

Of course, it s Vista capable. You installed Vista on the Satellite A100-979 and it works.

You ask drivers for the 64 bit version of Vista? Well, unfortunately, but there is nothing to see!
It should be common that Toshiba does not all 64-bit drivers. or for XP for Vista. :(

Best regards

    Hello guys

You can do what you want, but be careful with all these drivers Toshiba is not approved. As you know cell phones must be cooled properly and it there a lot of other factors is responsible for this. Toshiba sets different values and parameters of the graphics card itself and I heard that by the use of some third party drivers, these values can be changed and not only temporarily.

The changed values in the graphics card BIOS may result with permanent running cooling fan, high temperature graphics card, and so on. Very interesting, is that there is no chance of getting the original values, even after the installation of operating system with supplied recovery media.

I hope that something like this will not happen to you and you can use your laptop as before, but in my opinion you should think twice before using the drivers not approved by laptop manufacturers.

    Hello

Unfortunately the 64 bit Vista drivers are not available for this series of Satellite A100 PSAAR.

Last chance would be installing some drivers unique from other series of laptops that are equipped with the same features.

Try the driver Vista 64-bit of the other series and maybe some unique drivers will run.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A100: Where to get a Synaptics touchpad driver for Vista?

    Hello

I just upgraded from Windows XP Home SP2 for Windows Vista Ultimate on my Toshiba Satellite A100.
I was wondering where I could download a driver for Synaptics touchpad that works?

I tried the generic drivers from the Synaptics Web site, but they do not completely install it (the second component still fails to install).
Then I tried those Toshiba Web site, but the Vista compatibility messages show an error that says error code "# 5 b 4 @10.

Then I tried the drivers compatible with Windows XP, and they work perfectly, except for the fact that I can not configure advanced features like virtual scrolling and tap zones.
I click the icon in the status bar, click the device settings tab, and every time I click the button nothing happens.

    Any help?

    Hello

Usually the driver from the Toshiba page should be quite valid and works.
Please note that there are different series A100 and if you download drivers, don't forget that you choose the correct drivers for the series on the right laptop.

Have you checked if the touchpad settings can be defined and modified in the control panel?
As far as I know that the touchpad properties can be set in the mouse option that is located in the Panel!

On the device settings tab you should the synaptics touchpad and click settings.
New window will open and you will find many options that control the touchpad settings!

    Good bye

  • Satellite X 200 - 21 p: need 64-bit driver for NVIDIA geforce 8600GT

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite X 200 - 21 p with Vista Home Premium 32 bit pre-installed. Then, I did a clean install of Vista ultimate 64-bit (which I bought with the laptop in the same store). I know that the Toshiba is supported only for 32-bit, and I managed to install the drivers for some devices with no problems. But for the graphics card I couldn't / can't install drivers.

When I tried to install the drivers for the graphics card from the NVIDIA site, he ends up saying "Setup NVIDIA didn't find all the drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. The installation program will now stop. »

Any help, idea, suggestion? Would be very happy!

  • Messages to update Windows Vista 64-bit driver for Qosmio F30 Vista 32 bit

    Hello

Today, I noticed that, update Windows Vista displays the bad update for one of the drivers of Qosmio F30.

I have Windows Vista 32-bit, but Windows Update post a 64 bit version of the driver.

    See the screenshot [here: http://imagefilehost.googlepages.com/f30Wrongupdate.jpg]

    Any idea?

    Hmm... it's strange?  :|

The ACPI from Toshiba x 64 compatible driver certainly means a 64-bit version!

I put t know why Vista driver update notification indicates a 64-bit to a 32 bit OS driver, but usually the 64-bit driver should not be compatible with the 32 bit OS.

However, the deal seems clear don t install if the pilot is not designed for your operating system.

  • Satellite A100 - 1 k 7: Atheros 5007eg need driver for Ubuntu Linux 7.10

    Hello

    I am the proud owner of a laptop A100 - 1 k 7 upgraded with a total of 2 GB of Ram.
I tried to install my new discovery, Ubuntu 7.10 on it. Of course, I did :)

However I have the problem that I can not understand me.
My wifi adapter is not running. It is one of these atheros 5007eg.

I tried to find a driver, but could not find one.
Madwifi can't yet and ndiswrapper, well that's a little out of my League I guess.
I tried different tutorials, but each of them has not worked for me.
    I got so far:

When I give ndiswrapper driver installation command (I use a 32-bit Windows XP driver) he shouts the driver already installed.
But when I try to see if it works I get the wrong message driver.

Could someone please give me a good job tutorial on how to install the drivers for the wireless card?
Please bare in mind I'm absolutely new about operating systems based on linux... so a tutorial that I could just simply copy and paste into my terminal would be a gift from the gods for me :)

Please forgive me for my poor English because it is not my mother tongue.

    Kind regards

    Hi low

As you know, Linux's official not taken in charge and you're on your own. If nobody here can offer you the solution, try to check the manufacturers support page or visit a few Linux forums. This WLAN card is not built in Toshiba laptops only and I hope on the Linux forums you have much better chance to get the right info on WLAN drivers and the WLAN functionality.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A100 - can it run Windows 64 bit (XP or Vista)?

I know that the processors are compatible EM64T, but, as Intel says:

"Intel® EM64T requires a computer with a processor, chipset, BIOS, operating system, drivers of devices and applications enabled for Intel EM64T. Processor will not operate (including 32-bit mode) without a BIOS compatible Intel EM64T. Performance can vary depending on your hardware and software configurations. See http://www.intel.com/info/em64t for more information on which processors support Intel EM64T or consult with your system provider for more information. »

So, are the Toshiba BIOS and chipset, active EM64T?

    Thanks for the comments/replies.

    Hello

I read in this forum on the issues of 64-bit Vista.
It seems that all users were able to install the Vista 64 bit OS on Toshiba laptop computer, but they were not able to find 64-bit drivers.

In fact, the Toshiba provides all 64-bit drivers. for Vista or XP.
Why, because Toshiba laptops were not delivered with any 64 bit OS.

Other improvements I need to increase its performance?

    Hello

Unfortunately the video card cannot be improved. Only you can do is upgrade RAM, optimize the preinstalled operating system and play games that need power of video not so much.

Also try to play games with video settings below. Sorry, but that's all I can say about it.

  • After Vista update cannot find the external hard drive, AutoPlay does not work, and new unusable disk appears under my computer

After Vista update cannot find the external hard drive, AutoPlay does not work, and new unusable disk appears under my computer. Also I can't 'manage' my computer because I do not have "permissions". I tried a fix he 45071 and it did nothing.

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) (including free evaluation versions are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself.) If NIS has been installed for 3 years, you have NIS update at least once and maybe twice (e.g., NIS 2009 > NIS 2010 > NIS 2011).

[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline. If a step said to reboot, reboot.]

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) viaControl Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of NIS 2011 (using your product ID, if need be) & reboot. CF. http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

NOTE: Do NOT activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate (Norton) until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 & run the difficulty.

    9. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run that set it by DEFAULT and modes and AGGRESSIVE. [1]

    10. restart once again & test.

  • Update the display for Satellite A305-S6861 with Vista (64-bit) driver

    Hi, I want to update the driver for my graphics card. Then I went [which | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2059349& rpn = PSAG4U & modelFilter = A305-S6861 & SelCategorie = 3 & selFamily = 1073768663 & selModel = 2059349% 7CPSAG4U] site and update the graphics driver was for Windows XP.

I clicked on the download page link which was ATI Display Driver for Windows XP. Model of my PC was written on the list models involved, but my PC is not a version of Windows XP and don't have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 (this graphics card was written on the driver installation Guide).

I forgot this page and went to the site Web of ATI. I found driver chart download page which is: [link: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html]. Chose Vista 64-bit, Radeon and Radeon HD 3400 Series. I should _only_ download the file named "Catalyst Software Suite (64-bit)"? I thought, but I have not downloaded. Because the download that I found on the Toshiba site (that of Windows XP) was 148 MB and the download which is the site of ATI has been 62 MB. Don't know what to do.

Note that there are 2 options in the ATI site.
1 includes: display, integrated, ATI WDM driver Catalyst Software Suite (64-bit)
    2nd includes: 2 different downloads: driver of Download1:Display + Download2:Catalyst Control Center (32 bit)
Which one should I choose (or they are the same)?
1 pilot + integrated driver + software Suite
    2 - driver + Control Center?

I use Windows Vista(64-bit) and I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470. Where can I download drivers available for my system?

    Hello!

Now I have a little confused after I read your ad m.

If I understand correctly you are running Vista 64 bit and the Toshiba site you posted I also found drivers for Vista 64 bit.
You can refine the search by Windows Vista 64-bit.

I n t use drivers graphics they are not Toshiba because they don t have a thermal protection and therefore the graphics chip can be damaged.
Then download the drivers of Toshiba.

    Good bye
