Satellite A100 does not illuminate

When I press the power button the orange battery light flashes but nothing happens.
It worked fine until he slid my knees yesterday. He has not hit the ground because I caught, but now it will not work.
I wonder if the battery or the charger may be damaged?

Hello

What happens if you connect to the laptop adapter?
Are the LEDs on?

You can also remove the battery and was able to connect the laptop to the power adapter and could check if the laptop turns on.

Good luck

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
Leave the laptop unplugged and then hold down power button / stop along 30 sec.
Then reconnect the two parts and check how the unit works.

In which case nothing would be visible on the screen, try replacing the RAM modules. Perhaps one of the modules is the troublemaker
Otherwise if the RAM modules are OK, the problem could be linked to the motherboard.

    Hello!

What problems have you had with the AC/DC adapter?

In this case, you can do many things to get this working again, but you can try to remove the adaptor AC/DC and battery. Wait an hour and reconnect both devices and try it.

If it doesn t work I think you will need help of an ASP. :(

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100, which does nothing. He went flat when he was asleep, and a few minutes later I plugged it and when I press the power button / nothing happens. I do not show that the battery recharges in illuminating the charging light. The power button does not illuminate.

  • Satellite M100 does not illuminate unless the AC adapter is pluged

I am also having the same problem with my Satellite M100. The computer does not illuminate unless the AC adapter is pluged and plugged into the power outlet.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? The battery should be fine.

    B.

    Hello

Well, to me it sounds like a battery problem
Why you say that the battery must be good?
Have you checked it or because the technician?

In most cases if the battery is faulty then the laptop would have no power until it would be connected to the power adapter.

So I think (but that's just my personal opinion) the battery must be enabled (by technician, ASP) and if necessary should be replaced.

  • Satellite A100 does not supply power to the top

I have a client who has the Satellite A100 (PSAA2C-LE100E) and its not turn on the power. He bought a new AC adapter and tried the battery in and out and still not solve.

Should there be a light at the front of the laptop when it is plugged in and turned off?

Is it hard by exchanging the DC IN 19V on the phone jack?

    Thanks :)

Is this a Toshiba adapter? If the tension or the polarity is wrong, it can damage the motherboard.

DC IN (power cable icon) light should illuminate when the AC adapter is plugged in, if the adapter does not work. You can use a multimeter to check the volts and amps of the adapter.

If not, then a new Mainboard.

  • Satellite A100 does not recognize the new CD/DVD drive

I bought a new CD/DVD drive for my A-100 of Toshiba Satellite age of four year old went crazy and wouldn't work.

Unfortunately, I bought a DVD of Toshiba Portege A100 / reader Combo CD - RW that is not exactly what I had before the jump that it will still work.

Unfortunately, I'm surprised because it does not recognize the CD/DVD drive at all: /...
It seems to work, and the light blinks I think that it is not broken.

I just plugged it because that's the way I was told to do.
I need to download the drivers to operate?
It will work on my laptop, or is it a "most recent" CD player that will not work with my laptop?

    I'd appreciate any help. THX

The BIOS does not recognize this new CURIOUS because the player seems not to be fully compatible.
I think there bad master/slave/c-salt settings

As you know these settings can be changed on the external CD/DVD drive for desktop switching jumper. But it is not possible for computers portable CD/DVD players.

You can solve it only purchase a new compatible disc.

Usually the ASP in your country could help you buy this disc of these guys here
However, you can consult the user manual if there are a few details on the compatible sides.
My user manual provides this information.

  • Satellite U840 does not illuminate

    Hello

Yesterday I went to turn on my Satellite U-840 ultrabook and nothing happened when I pressed the power button. I left the laptop plugged in and with an external hard drive connected (and turned on) I had several times previously.

The LED lights up when the laptop is connected to the power supply and shuts off when it is not.

On the audit of this problem on google, most of the advice said to unplug the laptop, remove the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds or more, then replace the battery and power and it should work.

However, with this ultrabook, it is not possible to remove the battery.

Is there an alternative solution for this?

    Hello

Unfortunately this mentioned workaround does not work always and only if the laptop's hardware is not affected.
As an alternative, disconnect the power adapter and leave the laptop disconnected for a longer period of time, but I guess that's not very useful

I think the warranty to be valid, so in this case, you don't have to wait for some auto magic cure, but you should contact the technical service to check the hardware.

  • Satellite A200 does not illuminate

    Hello!

I have a Toshiba satellite a200, it lights, it gives me a black screen and 1 long and 2 short beeps, the only lights that light up are the witness of load and the light of the HARD drive, what's the problem?

I emptied the power from the motherboard and replaced the RAM.

Well, usually its nothing unusual for the laptop to do one or two short beeps during the startup process.
But if the laptop will beep and the system does not have a serious hardware problem may exist.

I'm afraid there is a problem of serious motherboard and no doubt that replacing the mobo would help you to solve this problem.

  • Satellite A100: Does not start a recovery DVDs

    Hi guys.
    First timer here.
I have read some of the Q & A on reboot problems the A100 since the recovery DVDs.
It seems I have the same problems as keith.

I want to start all over again the OS and my laptop does not start from the DVD.
Tried the standard f12 boot from cd option. tried her "hold C on the boot option.
Both options end with no joy.

The screen that says "loading ramdisk image", loads the machine breaks, asks me to wait, then every time the same thing.
The screen goes black, flashes very quickly and white and then loads from the hard disk as normal.

Now try to hold my frustration and do something radical.
I know that in the Q & A previous, the subject is considered as replied...
    other options?

My following thoughts are to delete/uninstall almost every thing and try and force the thing to boot from the DVD.
have also copied the dvd and tried to boot from the copy, always with no joy.

    Are there any other suggestions?

Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?

is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?

is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?

    see you soon,
    Martin

    Hello Martin

To be honest, it's pretty strange question. There is one thing I am interesting for:
Is - this first time, you try to use a recovery media for the installation of the OS?

If possible, try to get the Microsoft CD/DVD facilities to see if the same thing will happen.

In any case, I will try to give you answers to your questions.
    > Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and to start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?
It will not work. On the recovery of the media it is recovery image and this image must be installed correctly. You cannot "recover DVD in there. Not question

    > is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?
I would like to know what you understand under the 'essential processes?

    > Is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?
You can't do this somehow. If you want to 'reset' HARD drive, you must delete the existing partition or delete any OS installation. After having done that, you need to install new OS. All this will be done at the beginning of the recovery procedure.

I really don't understand what's wrong there. Please answer to my first question, and we will continue this discussion. ;)

  • Satellite A100 does not power up - LED orange flashing but nothing else

My Satellite A100 laptop fell on the couch and now wont power up,

I get a flashing orange LED but nothing else.
This only happens with the AC adapter is plugged and not with the battery.

What can I do to solve this problem and what should I watch?

    Hello

Try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Wait a while (> 2 hours) and then reconnect the two parts.
If the laptop still not, will fuel even using a good power adapter and the battery in good condition, the problem could be related to the problem RAM or the motherboard.

You should also try to delete one (or two modules if you have some spare parts) module of RAM and should try to turn on the laptop.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L635 does not illuminate

I have a Toshiba Satellite L635-S9320 machine today, when I turned it on it not to launch at all so I plugged the adapter and who got the white flashing of the LED DC and power LED orange flashing and the
computer does not respond to the switch that I wonder how to solve this problem.

    > DC LED white flashing and power on an orange flashing light

It seems that the laptop has developed a hardware problem.
The motherboard provides a code flashing, which means there could be a problem with electronic power supply

I think you should get in touch with the Toshiba ASP in your country that could control the unique parts in the worst cases the mobo must be replaced, but it's just a suggestion

  • Satellite 210cs does not illuminate.

I recently met an old 210cs satellite, the first time I turned it on I got an incorrect checksum. Then tried again and after a quick memory check, Windows 95 starts.
Had the laptop down for about 5 minutes then it turns off, tried again the next day and it wouldn't start.
During his tour on the disk hard grinds once then stops, a few seconds later there is a dull thunk. All I get is a white screen. I thought it was a hard drive crash, but who would stop the bios from?
    Help, please.

    Hello

    The CMOS Checksum Bad Error is an error that occurs when the CMOS values are incorrect and the error message can appear for different reasons;
    It seems built-in.
    -CMOS battery does not properly
    -the BIOS has been updated
-the cell phone was off not normally

In your case I would ignore the last two points and would presume that your problem is related to the faulty motherboard or the ROM chip (chip BIOS).
Unfortunately, it looks like a serious problem, and I think that only a technician or a motherboard replacement could help. Is that a new party would be more expensive than your oldi. Then maybe you can visit some websites of auctions for a second hand mobos or a laptop another :(

  • Satellite A100 does not display an image at boot

    Hey all.

I'm having a problem with my laptop (A100), which is a little perculiar. I keep my PC the other day to restart. But when it restarts, it does not display an image. I saw any activity usual boot sequence, as HD-activity and other. But no picture.

I tried to remove the believer battery which would solve the problem... but it didn't, and I simply dropped.

The next day I started the machine, and it returned to the top and ran exactly as usual. So today I rebooted the machine, and he did the same thing. No image... but the normal boot sequence. I noticed that the battery - led is lit constantly, which is NOT normal. And when I remove the AC power the machine dies simply indicating that the battery is completely dead. But what is odd, behold, the machine will actually start (although without a picture) when I remove the battery and just plug in the AC power.

Of course, I tried the usual things, want to do a test of the fool to make sure that the power is really and I've been busy pressing FN + screen-switch-button, but nothing seems to help.

Now my question really comes in two parts:

    1. what may be the cause of this problem? I guess the battery is dead - and past 1.5 years is probably what I read. But why it works when I remove the battery and just use the normal power cable? Clues as to what I can do here?

    2. How can I retrieve my data from my hard drive? The data are quite valuable, and even though I have backups of it, I always lose hourse valuable work if I'm not activate somehow of the transfer to another machine. I have a Dell laptop, but I don't know there that a hard drive from a Toshiba will go in a Dell. Maybe you can me if they work together?

Look forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance for your help!

Looks like there is a bad connection between the video card and display, or the VGA or LCD card have an intermittent fault.

To back up your data, you can attach the HARD drive to another PC using a USB SATA 2.5 "HDD adapter.

  • My Satellite A100 does not support SDHC cards with the internal card reader

    Hello

My Satellite A100 can't stand my sandisk 4 GB SDHC.
'normal' SD cards are not a problem with the internal card reader, and there is no problem with the 4 GB sandisk SDHC card using an external card reader.

    is there a software solution?

    regrads,
    Itock

I don't have the time to read the manuals for your model of laptop users, but can be registered to all supported cards. I guess SDHC not registered and not supported.

I don't know what you mean with the software solution, but as far as I know, update for multimedia card reader is not available.
