Satellite A100 Toshiba controls program - TFncKy.exe

Hi all

I hope I can get help from the genius here. My model is Satellite A100 and it comes with the media next to the keyboard button (i.e.Open, Internet browser, open WMP 10, Play/Pause, Stop, etc.). However I face the problem that all of these buttons do not work until I open the program - TfncKy.exe home Toshiba Toshiba C:\Program witnesses. This is so embarrassing for me to open this program every time after I have shut down my computer. (It works fine when I put in the laptop Hibernate). So guys, I really hope can ask for some valuable advice on your part. I just bought this laptop about a month ago. I look forward to the solution here. Thank you. =)

Hello

Go to START > RUN > write MSCONFIG, and then click OK.
Change STARTUP tab and check if TFncKy.exe is listed. If so make sure the checkbox is in front of it.

  • TFncKy.exe repeatedly crashing in Windows XP

    Hi all

I had a problem with the program TFncKy.exe since I bought my new Satellite M100 approximately a month or two ago. When I log on Windows, this program crashes before I press a key, and without worrying about know if I chose "Send report" or "do not send report", it blocks several times every minute or two.
This problem does not seem to have affected one of the user accounts on the computer, the other works fine.

Any ideas on how I can stop what is happening? Would be a help reinstall TFncKy.exe? If so, how could I do that?

Hmm, new user account supports the same rights as other user accounts where the keys FN Toshiba operating properly?
Check this setting and if necessary change the admin rights

  • How to use the "Toshiba controls" with other players?

    Heey

I have a Satellite with Toshiba controls. How can I change so I can use the buttons for other media players and not only Windows Media Player?

A dude sorry for the bad news, but I fear that it is not possible to use the Toshiba controls with another application as with WMP (CD) and WinDVD (DVD)
I think that the utility was already programmed and designed to use only these two applications.

  • Satellite A100 BIOS update - BAD CHECKSUM

I've just updated my BIOS to version 6.0 that TOSHIBA said > 26/11/07 "this Bios update adds functionality to your system: Satellite A100 Toshiba 6, 00 - WIN (PSAAN).»

    My original BIOS was 5.9
My computer works fine A100-33 but when my computer restarts, showed it to the BLACK screen.

I noticed that it displays BAD CHECKSUM and suugested I select default BIOS but I * ignored this advice * that wanted this new Version of the BIOS.

What means BAD CHECKSUM and what effects will have on my computer peformance please if any?

Under the system information that is displayed for my BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies LTD 6.00, 07/12/2007

Name of the Microsoft OS? ® Windows Vista Home Basic

    Hello

Don t worry if the message "bad checksum" will appear only once.

'Bad checksum' means that the BIOS has been changed, rewritten or settings have been restored by default. Thus, whenever you save your bios settings, bios made a "checksum" to check the next time you start the settings were stored and all goes well. If something is wrong or has been changed, then the checksum stored since the last save a Don t match real new generated checksum.

So if you make an update of the bios, all your settings will be modified logic - you get an error "Bad Checksum".

Another reason for such "Bad Checksum" is an empty BIOS stack or a malfunction, so BIOS cannot keep it s settings and you will get every time you start the computer a message "Bad Checksum".

    Welcome them

  • TFncKy.exe problem after upgrade to XP SP3 on Satellite A200

    Hello

After upgrade of XP SP3, I have problem with TFncky.

    _System_:
    A200/PSAE7
-XP Pro (2 x with OS selector, 1 OS XP XP main, 2nd XP for games)

    _Problem_:
After booting XP from my main XP installation I always get an error message pop up stating that there is no prob with TFncKy and TFncKy should be stopped. As "signature of the problem" I get the following:

    + AppName: tfncky.exe AppVer: 3.22.0.0 ModName: ntdll.dll +.
    + ModVer: 5.1.2600.5512 Offset: 00012ace +.

With one of the following keys on keyboard always results in above described error pop up but key are functional:
WinLogo, DEL, HOME, PGUP /-DN, END, right SHIFT, FN + keys F etc.

My second installation of XP (Lite for games) short smooth after SP3 upgrade: no error TFncKy error message.

As my second XP runs without any problems after SP3 I'm not sure if the proplem is related with + tfncky.exe + or + ntdll.dll +.

    BTW:
What driver package includes "tfncky.exe? Toshiba controls?

Thanks in advance for any information or advice for this problem!

    Best regards
    Andreas

    Hello

the problem was already discussed in another thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=18082

The last message was probably the solution for the whole of the case. The mentioned user that "TfncKy.exe" belongs to the Toshiba Hotkey utility that only needs to be removed and reinstalled for this problem.

In addition, it would be wise to check the registry with CCleaner for example before you reinstall the Hotkey utility.

    See you soon

  • Toshiba accessibility TACSPROP (Fn keys) does not work on my Satellite A100

I can't identify the installation program appropriate for the program in the list of drivers that you provide support download page, but I can tell you that the program is in the same directory where the Software * Hardware Support * is installed.

Please, can you provide me with the Setup program for this program? I think I'll have to try put it back.
Is it possible, that it has been marked as a Spyware of Vista or AVG? Maybe some windows update changed something...

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

These types of problems are very strange to me, and I wonder why this happen. The fact is that the recovery image (recovery DVD) is very well set up and there is absolutely no problem with the use of the FN keys. All these functions of FN keys are tested and it should work. All the necessary services will begin with OS and you must be able to use all the key functions of the FN.

I don't want to speculate what the problem is here, but I can't imagine you have this problem on the first day.

Now the question is: why is that you get? Using the factory preinstalled OS or you have installed your own version of the OS?

  • Satellite A100-590 PSAA9E freezes on the Toshiba start screen after BIOS update

    Hello.

Yesterday, I made an update of the BIOS on my Satellite A100-590 PSAA9E 03Z00QGR with the appropriate flash:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 153 & selProduct = 624 & langua ge = 17 & selOS = 10 & selType = all & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = userMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguag e = 17 & type = all & page = 1 & ID = 58477 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42

    BIOS - 20070709111839.zip

After flashing, the machine restarted automatically, but unfortunately it keeps now suspended from Thoshiba welcome screen. Also by pressing F2 or F12 will not change anything. It seems that the BIOS is damaged.

I saw that in the BIOS package are delivered the two files (s10gm590.rom and s10pm590.rom) flash. But just the execution of the BIOS590MP.exe SanAntonion10 a .vbs script starts decides which automatically selects and loads a flash file. Maybe she chose the wrong?

What should I do now? Is there a way to restore the BIOS, or do I have to send my laptop?

    Thanks in advance

  • Satellite A100 - sound input control Enable - Realtek drivers

    Hello!

I've already read about it in this forum, but I can't find the thread more. So, you have 2 options: try to help me, or link me to this thread. THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!

I have a * Satellite A100-158, with Realtek HD sound card * (I think...), and have the following problem: * I can´t hear on speakers/headphones/output line wathever in online * (iPod, bass guitar, microphone,...), after the upgrade to Vista Ultimate. I have levels and I record, but no line output signal. I tried activation monitor entry in the windows registry, and I have a button beside the microphone for the speaker properties level. I click on this button (a little snack...) and nothing happens. I also tried to uninstall the sound card and tried to install the drivers for Realtek HD soundcard (directly from the Web to Realtek site). I managed to install from windows safe mode reboot, but I can't have no option (Realtek Audio Manager on Control Panel). So, I can't seem to properly install the drivers (or Toshiba Web site, sound).
Now I don't really know if this is a bug/problem Realtek or Vista.

I'm a little despair, because I don't like the Vista operating system, and I need the laptop to study/record bass guitar.

Thank you all for the support!

You are 100% sure that this laptop supports an audio line-in port?
As far as I know that there is only a helmet and an available microphone port!

I checked a few websites and did not find t any info about an audio input port.

In any case, I have an A210 laptop with Realtek sound card.
The Stereo Mix, which is necessary if you want to save an audio stream to a Web site has been disabled. I could enable it to:
Control Panel-> Sound-> registration-> right click-> devices see off brand.
Then check and then a stereo mix should appear and you can set it up again.

    Good bye
