Satellite A100 - vista full HD, C E data empty, but the computer says no memory

Please can you help me I have Satellite A100.
The computer tells me that I am running out of memory.
The hard disk capacity is 110 GB and 54GB is free.

But when I look at the HD Vista C drive icons is full, but the data disk E is empty
Did I do something wrong here?
Or do I have to transfer things myself and what and how?

Move some C files to partition E and check if the same message is displayed again.

Once more Windows Update restarted the computer, loss of data and working hours.  It is true that this cannot be avoided?  He took over & could not be stopped.

I was just finishing a long process of renaming & move files on a DVD burning program, when I saw the Windows Update window that displays a countdown to restart.  There are 2 options: (1) restart now & see (2).  But the option to "Defer" is grayed out.  Nothing could be done.

Any suggestions?  Will be Microsoft to solve this?

Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista

Vista offers four different methods for how Windows Update updates your computer. Below, we explain each method and when this is the recommended setting.

Install updates automatically (recommended) - if you select this option, then all the critical updates will be automatically downloaded and installed on your computer. These updates will install at the time, you specify the fields to install new updates. This is the recommended option for the majority of people because it ensures that you have all the critical updates installed automatically on your computer.

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Vista will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

Never search for updates (not recommended) - if you select this option, Vista never automatically checks updates. This option should never be selected as it puts your computer are likely to be affected, infected or hacked.

Choose one of the following Options:

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them

Look for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them

Read the news and see which you prefer to use.

    See you soon.

  • Vista goes to 50% CPU usage and connects the computer for hours after the beginning

    Original title: Vista processor

Stupid Vista goes to 50% CPU usage and connects the computer for hours after the start.  Cannot run anything with any request of CPU without getting bogged down and crashing.  It is not windows defender, I suspend this service and the machine is ok for another 1/2 hour, them I'm up to 50% of the CPU.  The idle process said Task Manager is > 90%, still indicates 50% CPU usage and the cooling fan looks like a 747 taking off.  Should I just pull the machine and go for Linux, or what?  Cannot run games or whatever it is, totally disgusted with vista of POS and microsoft can it Deep and do not get windows 7, it is probably worse.  Is that all I can turn off to get the same performance than, say, windows 3.1?  It would be preferable to the current situation.  MSCKMA.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows

  • Satellite A100-756: browsers close attempt to download files from the Internet

I bought a Satellite A100-756 just before Christmas and it has been running XP Pro SP2 absolutely fine without any problem.

I've upgraded to Vista Ultimate this weekend and I can't download files to PC from the Internet using ANY web browser I installed.

I dropped all the security settings just in case it was the cause of the problem but still can not do.

If I click on a link to downliad an exe file, for example, the Run/save/Cancel dialog pop up, if I click on RUN it run the application, but if I click on SAVE, the browser closes right down.

The same thing happens if I'm going to transfer a system file to MySpace or one of my web servers via HTTP.

Nothing is written to the event logs, or error report.

My Satellite A100 laptop fell on the couch and now wont power up,

I get a flashing orange LED but nothing else.
This only happens with the AC adapter is plugged and not with the battery.

What can I do to solve this problem and what should I watch?

    Hello

Try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Wait a while (> 2 hours) and then reconnect the two parts.
If the laptop still not, will fuel even using a good power adapter and the battery in good condition, the problem could be related to the problem RAM or the motherboard.

You should also try to delete one (or two modules if you have some spare parts) module of RAM and should try to turn on the laptop.

    Good luck

I bought at Toshiba UK who confirmed that they were the correct modules.

The System Control Panel icon always indicates RAM 2 GB (not 4GB) memory.
If I remove one module 2 GB, the system icon of 2 GB (which is correct) said Control Panel.
I have re-installed the two modules and changed their round in the slots, but the system icon still says 2 GB.

You have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?

  • Re: Satellite A100-011 does not start, a black screen at the beginning

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-011, which is almost 5-6 years. It suddenly started to behave abnormal.

First of all, I started to get a 1-2 sec black screen when he was running. The screen was on and off occasionally.

After a few days, I could not started upward from my windows xp sp3 operating system. I tried to start in safe mode with networking to see if I had a few spy, virus or something. I ran avast, hijact, ad-aware and some more, but not found anything.

Later, I tried to format my laptop with a xp professional, but this time I can't see any reflection that passes more fun running and a black screen. I just got a black screen at the beginning and it does not start.

I plugged on a television screen, and here I have started. I have re-installed all the drivers and formatted, but all I get is a black screen on my laptop at the beginning.

What should I do now? Do you think I have a problem with my screen of HW or a driver problem with nvidia geforce go 7600? Maybe I'm missing something?
